Plan on installing requiem. Do you guys recommend it as well? On top of that I was considering getting lots of the stuff in S.T.E.P. as I've heard some good things about that list of mods. Thinking of trying ENB for the first time using realvision too.
If you're installing requiem you need to be not installing anything else with it, because it will break and fuck your saves, potentially up to breaking your install. Play it by itself, and then consider if you'd like to play something else.
I almost want the unofficial patches guy to monetize his shit with the pure intent of pissing everyone on all sides off, and proving that this is madness. I wonder if he can get away with it?
The people who contributed to the unofficial patches should be paid as much as people who work in QA, considering how much they picked up the pieces and did Bethesda's work for them.
The people who contributed to the unofficial patches should be paid as much as people who work in QA, considering how much they picked up the pieces and did Bethesda's work for them.
Church. Still don't think it should be a forced payment though.
The people who contributed to the unofficial patches should be paid as much as people who work in QA, considering how much they picked up the pieces.
And no one is saying that shouldn't happen. The way it's happened is both deplorable and a direct invalidation to the Skyrim player and modder community. The silver lining here is you're very quickly going to find out who is modding as a passion and who is simply looking for nice place to do some predatory fuckery.
Sharing paid mods is now warez it's exactly the same principle now, and normally this is against forum rules but i really hope this can be the exception can a mod clear this matter up because i don't know where we stand on this anymore... fuck this whole situation

Where did you hear it is warez now?
Church. Still don't think it should be a forced payment though.
If anything, Beth should be paying them. After all, many mods are just fixing issues Bethesda never bothered fixing, why should people who already purchased the game have to pay for those too?
oh no, novajam has started referring to his character by name
Need some help with some modding. My follower uses a custom head but people without the custom head my argonian looks incredibly weird. What I'm trying to ask is; Is it possible to export the exact model of my player's head and force it to load on my follower?
oh no, novajam has started referring to his character by name
He always has actually. I do it too, mostly because I like to get into character when I play games (sometimes I even do this with TF2, when it's a quiet server or I'm playing offline); I see nothing wrong with it. Though his character is undeniably waifu. [editline]24th April 2015[/editline]
Need some help with some modding. Currently trying to google around for it. edit: it's spf [name of file here]. It'll poop the file (I think it's a .npc file?) out in the Skyrim directory, iirc. Been a while since I made my own custom follower, I think you have to tick a Is Char Gen Present box and do some stuff with that?
didn't hear it anywhere. i assumed since all other forms of sharing paid content on here was strictly forbidden
yeah I reached out to a mod the other day and they said on the mod IRC garry chimed in saying something along the lines of "we wont make it a problem unless it becomes a problem" Probably means he doesn't care so long as it doesn't harm the site/hes prone to change mind on it [editline]24th April 2015[/editline] Hell when it comes right down to it I think I'd commission a mod and allow it to be shared for free, but buying one? Just doesn't seem right.

I found a link to a tutorial but it's giving me a 404 so I'm going to have to figure it out for myself.

Unless you mean he's using a totally custom face, the sort you couldn't make ingame, in which case I don't have a clue.
I hate to repeat shit I've already said, but does anyone know any good Oblivion mods?
Sure. $20 please I always, ALWAYS installed Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul
Got a week-long community ban for calling the Midas Magic dev (the one who added advertisements) an asshole. WOOOOOOORTH IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.
"Give Me Money For No Reason" Greatest Mod 2015
If we lived in a perfect world where people are happy with this system of paying for mods then $1 is an incredibly reasonable amount to pay for a function which is so important to most people's Skyrim experience. If you're taking what he said about not expecting this community backlash then the 9 million or whatever downloads would actually equal a significant amount of money. Obviously we're not living in this idyllic world of his but I do think it's a bit unreasonable to act like he's some sort of horrible person for wanting money. Disregarding the morals and affect on the community etc. then it's perfectly reasonable to prefer to charge a dollar (or 25 cents depending on how you're looking at it) rather than giving it away for free. Money makes the world go round whether you like it or not unfortunately.
That's the thing, though. There are times when you *shouldn't* take money, even if you can, and I think this is one of them. It undermines the whole purpose of modding. I think it's been really interesting seeing who's in it for passion and as a hobby, and who scrambled to get money when the chance arose. It sucks, cause even if Valve just gets rid of this whole thing right now the damage is done and the community is split. Those modders will be blacklisted forever, if not just driven out.
what could make this situation worse
what could make this situation worse
If valve removes the refund policy due to pirating.
what could make this situation worse
ww3
what could make this situation worse
Bethesda adding paid workshop for previous TES games.
ww3
all cancers become airborne
Bethesda adding paid workshop for previous TES games.
Next game is just the Gamebryo Engine, character creation, and a prison tutorial dungeon. Modders have to create the rest of the game. Somehow there's still bugs.
what could make this situation worse
Monthly fees for Creation Kit. :v:
brodual did a video on it , i'm probably late as hell but go take a look if you subbed to him it's basically what everyone else is saying
brodual did a video on it , i'm probably late as hell but go take a look if you subbed to him it's basically what everyone else is saying
They seem kind of impartial about the whole thing though. They offered an opinion but didn't back it very strongly, which I guess is good, but at the same time we could really use some huge Youtube viewerbases seeing how absurd this shit is.
Sure. $20 please I always, ALWAYS installed Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul
On the subject of good mods for older Elder Scrolls games, Midas Magic for Oblivion is fantastic. You don't have to pay a cent to the author, either!
Skyrim Midas Magic is on the paywall
