Someone on /r/pcmasterrace said "Never forgive; never forget. If we got Tom Wheeler to agree with Net Neutrality, we can get Gaben to agree with free mods." and I tend to agree. He's clearly trying to pacify the hatred by saying if it fails it's getting stopped. We have to stick to our guns and keep fighting it if we really want it to stop.

There are several NPCs in Interesting NPCs who just insult you every other line, and I love killing them before they can even react. Insult the sword-wielding video game hero several dozen times! There's no way the player will get sick of you and forcibly remove your face!

[editline]26th April 2015[/editline] Also I don't think this new system should be totally scrapped. If it had as much regulation as the DOTA stuff it wouldn't be so bad. That and only quality mods that are actually worth the money got the option to charge. I think they should at least add an optional donation button even if this does end.

I almost feel bad for Valve because I really think Beth is pulling the strings, and yet Valve is taking the PR hit instead. Though Gabe certainty didn't put any concerns to rest.

None that is present, and neither is goodwill from either of the offending parties.

One of my favorite things about the paid mods thing is how little money the modders are even getting. If you wanna argue whether or not modders deserve to be paid for their work, fine, there's arguments on both sides that are valid, but if they deserve to be paid, they DEFINITELY deserve to be paid more than THAT. I pay out the ass, they get chump change, and Valve and Bethesda walk away with all the fucking money. They've got their dicks up both our asses while we sit there squabbling at each other.

By the way, I recommend downloading all of the Realistic Texture Overhaul files while you have the chance, the owner seems to have taken down the 8K Dragons and clouds files and paywalled it on the workshop.
