Elsweyr or Blackmarch would be real cool
I personally hope for something like Elsweyr. I like ancient desert themed stuff and it would be a cool contrast to skyrim.
HOUSE CATS SHOOTING FIREBALLS
welp game started crashing on startup and nothing I do will fix it
time to rage quit this game for 6 months
That conversation we had last page about Jyggalag made me think of something...
Daedra are the primordial chaos to the Aedra's ordered creation, right? Their whole schtick is that they're a bunch of chaotic neutral or true neutral shapeless god-things.
So how the hell does a Daedric Prince of Order work? Why didn't he choose to partake in making Mundus, when that was the first event to create order in the void? Maybe that's why he was growing in power, and why the other Princes hated him?
Man Deadric lords are a bunch of dicks
Hey man, Azura is alright.
Hey man, Azura is alright.
not when you've killed the annoying fan and he praises azura after coming back to life.
fuck that daedra.
For fucks sake the compatibility patcher for perkus maximus keeps giving me
I do not ask your pardon, Master Araknid. For the Black Speech of Java, may it be heard in every corner of the west!
Seriously I hate that patcher, I spent hours trying to troubleshoot the incredibly unhelpful error messages. :v:
So did we hit some kind of wall modding wise ?
Because i can't see any gameplay modifications or neat shit anymore. Like the hot files are basically texture mods and shit followers and that's it, and that since months and months.
Are people running out of ideas or the limitations of this fucking garbage engine are getting in the way ?
So the Thieves Guild questline made a lot of effort to present me [sp]Mercer Frey[/sp] as a legitimate threat: a man so powerful I just HAD to be turned into [sp]a Nightingale[/sp] and bring my two collegues with me
Now, I didn't expect a stealth-based battle, but facing what was basically a common mook who could just turn invisible now and then was fucking depressing
I'd also like to "return the Thieves Guild to its former glory", but apparently that requires clearing at least thirty or so boring fetch quests. I'll pass

and on top of that, this classic right here

Is there a mod(pack) for Skyrim that acts like Fallout 3's Wanderers Edition? Specifically talking about the insane damage modifiers it applied, a bullet or two was enough to kill almost any enemy, but you died super fast yourself too. Died hundreds of times in one playthrough and I loved every second of it.
Probably wouldn't work with Skyrim as well as it did with FO, but I wanna give it a try
All the side quests in Oblivion occurred, just not necessarily by the actions of the Champion of Cyrodiil. While they didn't mention Jyggalag in Skyrim, they kinda sorta a little vaguely implied the events of the DLC happened, in Sheogorath's roundabout way.
Vaguely implied? Sure.
But he's never going to actually appear.
Similarly, it's vaguely implied that some of the sidequests from Oblivion may have happened possibly. But afaik, it's never really stated outright.
I think it's up to the player what the Champion of Cyrodiil did. All of the events of Oblivion took place, but it was either the PC or someone else, since it's never stated who actually brought about the events (except the main quest of course).
I want to make another proper run through Skyrim after several years of leaving my game to be overtaken by dust. I've never actually played Dawnguard, so I've decided to make that my focus. However, I have basically grown bored of Skyrim, so I need to add more mods onto my already-impressive pile to create a new experience. Violens was mentioned earlier in this thread as a replacement for Dance of Death, which made me realize how outdated some of my mods are. I only just now downloaded LOOT to replace BOSS, too. So, I shall now play 20 Questions with Facepunch as I try to get back into the modding scene.
First of all, what are the "essential" mods? I have SKSE and SkyUI already.
I'd like to create a vampire hunter character with a gothic/Diablo/Legacy of Kain aesthetic for the game's visuals. I figure that I can customize my ENB setup for the graphics, but are there any recommended ENB configs or other graphics mods that would be interesting? How about big texture mods? I just downloaded Book of Silence to try it out.
What are the big gameplay overhauls that are out now? What about big mods that add lots of new content or items? Immersion mods like Frostfall? Useful UI mods?
What mods do you guys recommend for vampires? I currently have Better Vampires, but I know there are lots of other choices.
Are there mods that make playing a mage more fun or less awkward? I've used both Better Magic and Empowered Magic in the past, but they're old and have incompatibilities with other mods.
Hugs, kisses, and kudos to future answerers of questions from someone who used to spend way too much time in this series of threads.

Depends...
Do you want your spells to be fun because you like strategy and figuring out unique ways of using them or fun because you get a bunch of really quite powerful and get to live your dream of going all Emperor Palpatine on their ass.

Too broad a question, what kind of overhaul is best depends on what is going to suit your playstyle (i.e. archer needs enemy AI overhaul that remove some limits and bow fixs etc...)

Something that fixes the way magic scales would be good enough. That way, I can play as a destruction mage or some such. Quality of life changes like making buffs last longer is also good. Adding new spells is not necessary, since that would break the already-fragile balance the game has and probably create compatibility issues. A mod that changes the awkwardness of equipping spells is probably wishful thinking.

I was thinking along the lines of SkyRe and Requiem, which change most aspects of gameplay. I was mostly wondering if anything new and better had come along, since I haven't been following the Nexus.

Pick and choose and it should at least give you a good base to work out from

Maybe you should stop considering the nexus as the end all-be all, because an increasing number of modders aren't bothering to use it anymore due to politics and other factors.
Well, even with practically no mods and just the unofficial patches Skyrim doesn't really work. Water flickers and you and enemies get randomly thrown around in some spots in the world. So annoying.

I would say thank ye, but the Nexus appears to currently be unresponsive, so I can't make my ISP throttle my download speed just yet. I suppose I'll have to take another look at GEMS and STEP, too.
Since we are on the subject of Jyggalag, I'd like to share a little fun fact:
Jyggalag has been referenced (in name only) in the series as far back as Daggerfall in the book On Oblivion. He wasn't a daedra that you could summon, had no sprites, nor did he have any internal political faction data.
What are good gameplay overhauls that makes the game more realistic.
Would be nice having everything die quicker instead of having to wack someone with a sword 10 times. Bonus points if its compatible with immersive weapons and immersive armour
I've tried skyre and I'm over that.

Yeah, that's why they never explicitly state anything other than the main quest has happened.

That might be a frame rate issue. Bethbryo doesn't like going above 60fps. There are a couple of limiters available - 55fps works well for me.

How am I not surprised. Thanks, I'll give this a try later.
Getting my new computer monday, man I can't wait to play Skyrim again. It's been years since I've played it and I still haven't played any of the DLCs yet, even though I spent like 250 hours on a single save file back when the game originally released. I remember the hype when it first came out, good times.
So today I met Paarthurnax
I really hope Alduin will put up much more of a fight when he'll reappear as the final boss

It's bethesda
you really think that's going to happen
