yep, give Helgen a visit and alduin will fly over (like he does when you exit in vainilla)
quest will update to tell you to visit riverwood and from there it's back to normal
Thanks, just did that worked fine. Now to not follow the main quest because getting to the Throat of the World is so much effort when you're feeling too immersed to used fast travel. All I really wanted was Breezehome :v:
So I'm now experiencing Jester's Day in the Wet and Cold Holidays plugin (highly recommend it, good stuff). Apparently, the pranks are represented in the form of NPCs wearing jester's clothing and running around following you and each other and clapping constantly.
I found the jestered up corpse of a laborer from that one mod that adds loads of nameless NPCs in towns in the courtyard of Castle Dour. I think she was trying to follow one of the archers training there and got herself shot to death. [sp]either that or joker found his way into my game[/sp]
What a waste.
EDIT: I found an old man in peasant clothing wielding a knife. Apparently he's a merc, and the strongest sword arm in Skyrim. Like I haven't heard that one before.
EDIT again: Goddamned Giraud from the Bards' College followed me all the way to Morthal.
That seems slightly overpowering.
it is, but it always annoyed me that you couldn't do something similar in the base game, it would be kinda silly having to pause and switch masks during combat for certain effects.
after you acquire all the masks, there is a mod that's all of them in one. wait until you acquire them all so it feels like you accomplished something.
It's not a matter of in-game benefits
I'm into masks, okay?
You collect the eight rarest masks around Skyrim to forge the ultimate mask
I want to become Masekin. Maskborn.
(I made "Masekin" up)

The mod maker really needs to add in people calling you Chicken Chaser instead of Dragonborn on that day.
'Chicken Chaser, ha what do you do? Chase Chickens!?'
[editline]8th February 2015[/editline]
Obviously the Skyrim equivalent doesn't work so well now I think about it:
'Dragonborn, ha what do you do? Give birth to Dragons!?'

They have a special place in my heart because they honestly remind me of Toa masks from Bionicle, particularly the Bohrok ones.
Anyone got a place where I can go find a premade list of mods for Skyrim, I already play the fuck out of how I set up my Skyrim, now I want to try someone else's set up.
Also, I always some how make my Skyrim unplayable, mostly since a script fucks up and leaves a unwanted effect, like bows taking 20 years to animate, OP weapon effect getting stuck on, meaning every weapon, and even fists, have it, so brawls break if the effect goes on, etc.

I used to have the opposite effect where everything would complete extremely fast. I was able to attack about 20 times in the duration of a single power attack animation, with each attack also causing its own sounds and creating an aural avalanche of pain. While it was fun being capable of breaking the sound barrier with my fists for a while, I eventually managed to fix it with FNIS.
Does anyone else think that Azura had something to do with the Dwemer Disappearance?
I mean the Dwemer were fucking around with souls/enchantments a little more than they should, they were at war with the Chimer (Azura's favorite race, not to mention her son was in the battle), there have been accounts of Dwemer pissing off Azura
What happened to the Dwemer isn't even a question, really. They disappeared after Kagrenac used Wraithguard, Keening, and Sunder on the Heart of Lorkhan after being beaten by the invading Chimer in the Battle of Red Mountain.
The question is where they are. Since they aren't anywhere to be found in Oblivion, Mundus, or various other alternate realities, according to Yagrum Bagarn.
[editline]banana[/editline]
Azura by herself wouldn't have the power or authority to directly disappear an entire race from all of reality. No Daedra does, else Nirn would probably be an empty rock at this point. The hows and whys can't be answered by anybody but Bethesda at this point, but it's safe to assume that their disappearance was directly caused by the Heart. But then, they had already been successfully siphoning the Heart to power Anumidium before the fight, and the Tribunal got away with using it to give themselves power almost literally immediately after the Dwemer disappeared, so that really just leaves more questions than answers.
Most sources say that Kagrenac struck the heart with his Tools after Dumac was beaten by Nerevar, which is of course how they had been powering Anumidium the whole while, but the whole point of the tools was control of the power in the first place, so his striking of the Heart without restraint is pretty likely what did it. Whatever "it" is, that is. Some sources say it was a final attempt to fully power the Anumidium into Godhood, and still more say it was a last-ditch effort to turn the race immortal.
So you are saying they could actually come back at some point?
not physically, no
[editline]9th February 2015[/editline]
in the tribunal expansion it's implied that the dwemer were corporeally destroyed in the process of whatever happened
what if when the dwemer disappeared they were put inside their own automatons? They wanted to transcend and maybe this was the best they could do.
I only spent a few minutes reading the uesp articles about them but we've never actually seen the dwemer before they disappeared, was there any proof their automatons were actually working when they were still around? They have soul gems in them so its possible they could be powered by dwemer souls.

well there are dwemer ghosts around too and they aren't in automatons
well there are dwemer ghosts around too and they aren't in automatons
i think that's only in mods.
i think that's only in mods.
they are in vanilla morrowind, nasty spellcasters
[editline]9th February 2015[/editline]
actually they mostly just reflect spells apparantly, i just remembered one of them blowing me up with a damage health bomb, must have been my own

Ah I see, I never got farther than the town where you meet that blades member, those fucking rats decimated my characters.

Were you maybe playing some kind of thief or otherwise non-combat oriented character? Morrowind can be kinda hard at the start if you're not playing as someone who can fight or cast spells, but you should have been able to make it past the first fighter's guild quest if you weren't playing on a really high difficulty.

Theif, sneaking with a spear.
it never ended well.

It's a 'walking dagger'.

Not a big fan of either of those in Morrowind personally. Next time you try the game make sure you do the stuff around Seyda Neen first if you weren't already, so that you can have some better gear when you go to Balmora. There's a few crypts and a cave around there, as well as two easy quests.

The early part of Morrowind seems as if it's designed to scare people off to protect its inner goodies, like some kind of cult or fan club. We have:
-Somewhat obtuse character creation
-Hidden statistics on abilities (Willpower increases spellcasting chance! Agility is the most useful thing ever! Fatigue affects literally everything you do, even in menus!)
-Terrible hit chance at low skill
-Slow run speed, jump height lower than that of a toddler
-Alien world, Silent Hill fog, walls of text, unpronounceable names
-That one guy early in the main quest who protects the bridge
-That one cube early in the main quest that is nearly impossible to find without a guide
But then you get told that you're the Nerevarine, Caius Cosades gives you his pants, and it's all good.

I'm waiting for Skywind, then, after that, I will try regular Morrowind. i've tried regular morrowind, and the combat really pisses me off, and I am not playing with guides, I don't play that way.

Magic is the way to go in Morrowind, spellcrafting is available right off the bat, enchanting is great and you can fly. At least in my opinion, anyway.
I've been having issues with PerMa, I keep getting

I've disabled all mods, even checked my Skyrim data folder, all I have is the base game and DLCs.

The only things we know for sure are that they disappeared all at once when Kagrenac used the Tools during the Battle of Red Mountain, and that they weren't conventionally "killed" or otherwise displaced to any plane of Oblivion/Aetherius.
The reason we know this is that Yagrum Bagarn himself spent thousands of years traveling these realms looking for them and never found anything. (similarly, I think he would've noticed if they were now powering his automatons)
Yagrum's theories are that Kagrenac either succeeded in turning the Dwemer immortal with the unintended consequence of transporting them to another realm entirely, or he failed and outright deleted the race from reality, but even then they're just theories.
There's one thing that's for certain though, Bethesda wouldn't have poured so much Lore over the years into a single race that we've never even had a chance to see, making them a huge-ass cross-game mega-mystery that everybody is dying to know the answer to without planning to do something with it in the future. So rest assured that we'll probably get the full answer sometime in the future.
Well lets hope TES isn't handed off to another team of developers like Halo was
343 Studios makes the next elder scrolls game, turns the Dwemer Race into some kind of anime
I think I found the problem, its not looking at MOs plugin list, its looking at regular skyrims plugin list.
[editline]9th February 2015[/editline]
Fixed it by editing the bat file to point to 32bit java

Totally worth it.
As of now I'm clearing the Thieves Guild minor quests in order to get the One with the Shadows achievement and make some money (those Solitude manor redecorations don't come cheap)

Bethesda is already 343
