I like to think that healing potions etc are just instantly absorbed by the player character's digestive system and that's why they work so fast / can be ingested in large amounts

sometimes i get a really good idea for a steam shortcut name
you shouldn't be able to down 5 litres of healing potion like you shouldn't down 5 litres of milk
Considering the kinds of ingredients potions are made of (delicious delicious giant's toe...), I probably couldn't handle a shot.
You aren't a Joe Average

I'd rather be Joe average now.
bored as playing as the dragonborn.
shame there's no game for that.
theres a magazine at work from 2005 with a piece about Oblivion before it came out. I'll try to get a scan of it because it's hilarious.

It's weird, but that's one of the things oblivion did right when it came down to immersion, a cap on how many potions you could drink.
So is it just me, or is early shock magic really overpowered? I decided to try my hand at playing a mage, and I picked up the Sparks spell in the Helgen torture room, and it's absurdly strong. It applies the same amount of damage at the same rate no matter how long I cast it (something like 10% of their Health a second even if I just barely connect and then immediately stop casting), so I can just feather the mouse button and kill an enemy with only about 10% of my starting Magicka. Sure, it's just the game start and I have no idea if it carries into mid or late game, but it's really putting me off playing as a mage regardless.

Most low level spells start sucking majorly after a short while, hell most spells in general sort of suck after a while, since the enemies will eventually outpace you, your spells improve, but won't really improve to combat them all that well, especially at higher levels, you really have to use a good mix of each magic class or will start getting wrecked.
Seriously, while I enjoyed my time playing a mage in Skyrim, it sucks waaaaay more than playing as a sword wielder/bow wielder.
Especially with the lack of a Spellcrafting system like in Morrowind and Oblivion.

Also, if it makes you feel better, I'm starting to feel a little nostalgic
That I do. Any super popular must have mods that fit the bill for this kind of thing?
[TerrainManager]
fBlockMaximumDistance=70000.0000
fBlockLevel1Distance=70000.0000
fBlockLevel0Distance=35000.0000
fTreeLoadDistance=70000.0000

This will help, but bear in mind you'll never eliminate it entirely.
I'd mentioned before that I already fixed it. Thanks, though.

no actual dancing animations? 0/10 will never install.

Some of that voice acting is really good
Is there a way to take just my character and equipment and put them in a completely new save? I'm sick of this crashing shit but I don't want to start over again.

Familiar faces + Console Commands
player.additem for everything you want to keep, I guess
Or actually Sharker, just get a Save Game Cleaner
so I downloaded colourful magic because I planned on playing a mage then ended up playing a warrior instead because magic sucks
the spells are cool enough (but english isn't the mod creator's first language so a lot of the descriptions are pretty messy, not a major issue)
one version of the mod also adds loads of monsters around the map though. They're all ridiculously overpowered (I ran into 3 floating giant-ass skeletons in some meditating pose, they killed me in one fireball). They make for good boss fights I guess, but then you got the spider daedra.
nsfw
I know it's a mob from oblivion, but this is just unnerving. The human part doesn't move, it's just a motionless naked elf torso thing with massive hands. Why does it even have nipples?
Unless you read the mod page, there's no warning that you're about to face this monstrosity as you go through the cave, since the only enemies up until then were simple spiders, and you have to fight it alongside the giant spider that was the boss of the cave normally. Had to use console commands to kill it because there was no way I could put a dent in it otherwise.
sadly I'm too deep into this character to remove it without messing something up, probably.

Mods?
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9048/?
Not the best example, I'm sure there are more, but there are tons of mods that give you alternative starts/no shouts or dragonborn powers/let you just get a job and make cash hunting, farming, fishing or crafting.

Casavir looks like

I've reached the point where I find it more fun to install the mods than I find it to play the mods.
Or actually Sharker, just get a Save Game Cleaner
I already did that but I still get them. I know I crash sometimes when I open my inventory but seeing as literally everything needs Skyui I'm not sure how I could fix it.

During the stream we had a guy constantly drawing things as events unfolded.
OpenMW is moving from Ogre3D to OpenSceneGraph to get a big performance boost. The Ogre3D port will remain in development until the OSG branch gets further along. DirectX will also be dropped.
[editline]15th February 2015[/editline]
I hope this boost will help with ports to other platforms.
I would love to see ports to consoles and handhelds.
I don't suppose anyone in here knows how the Oblivion load order actually works, do they?
I'm running my Oblivion setup in Wine, and while Oblivion + OBSE work perfectly, mod managers don't. I figure I can probably manage the load order my damn self, but I don't know how the engine determines what order to load all the plugins in.

It goes by the date modified
It goes by the date modified
So older plugins get loaded first?
[editline]15th February 2015[/editline]
if so then i'm going to set Oblivion.esm's modified date to December 10, 1993

Why not use BOSS or LOOT?
The Daedric Punishment for Arrow in the Knee Mod made a Stormcloak soldier die knelt down on his knees.
