this was on gems but there was a massive controversy about it that I don't understand
Obviously you've never used her.
So I was messing around with the ini and increasing the UGrids, as well as some other extenders and got the game's view distance looking pretty good.
messing with the ini is fine; messing with the ugrids will break your game eventually, almost guaranteed.
Yeah, a lot of popular mods that claim to be lore friendly has some really weird things in it.
Take for example skyrim's monster mod.

Like maybe because I've seen some shit but it really feels like the author intended these to be for sexlab but gave up on that idea halfway through and just made it randomly spawning mobs.
The thing I like about immersive creatures is that you can disable most of the bullshit you don't like.
The problem I mostly see with mods that add more enemies is that the people making them don't actually make the models themselves and the modelers that make the resources have no idea how to implement them or are just too lazy to do so. Making new animations and skeletons is also pretty much impossible with Bethesda's behavior system, especially because there are no official tools to edit them. One of the packs I see a lot of popular creature mods pull from is Vicn's resources, which does have some interesting concepts, but a lot of them are just already existing assets thrown together and (mis)contorted to fit Bethesda's already existing skeletons. That draugr dog, for instance, is literally just a draugr with the animations of a dog.
I'm at the point where I don't even care if some things aren't lore friendly as long as they add more to the game.
ok so im trying out the inferno series of mods and i have a question
do people honestly find this fun like no offense to the person who made this, but seriously what's with the fucking knockdown fetish

Bethesda's behavior system is my biggest complaint about Skyrim modding for that reason. I would love to make new creatures but I can't without using an existing skeleton, which makes a lot of things impossible, or at least makes it impossible to achieve the level of quality I demand when I make stuff.

It's rule of cool Conan "armor" what are you guys complaining so much about. It's not even grossly offensive like most other kinds of armor you'll find on the nexus.

it's stupid because it's completely... Well... Stupid to wear that in the same area where there are hundred foot tall icebergs in frozen tundras where even the bravest nords fear to tread.
Even weirder when you have something like frostfall active where you are dying of hyperthermia and miss bikini over here comes barreling in in nothing but a flannel towel. :v:
i just download the loverslab patch that makes it so frostfall the the opposite effect
if you wear anything more than a chainmail biki then you die of hypothermia

Would be fun if NPCs were effected by Frostfall. Set it to have low exposure resistance, wait around bandit camps to watch them die.
[sp]i personally like that armor a lot, it's a silly fantasy stereotype but it's a silly fantasy stereotype that's great in moderation[/sp]
clothing practically doesn't exist in skyrim and everyone walks around with their penises erect

good thing the fine People over on LL modelled penis armour.
...
Oh you think I'm joking?
no i don't think you're joking
honestly i checked it out and discovered what was hot in the skyrim modding scene
1.2 million downloads for sexlab
400k downloads for a rape mod
300k downloads EACH for several beastilaity mods
200k downloads EACH for several hardcore BDSM mods
15 million downloads in total for sex related mods from sexlab
compare that to 3 million downloads for the skyrim unofficial patch

TBH that's not fair compairing the total amount of downloads for multiple mods versus the total for one mod. What if the same person downloads 3 different mods?
Although I have read somewhere that Sexlab sort of requires Skyrim Unofficial patch, so 1.2 million of the people who downloaded Skyrim Unofficial Patch might have also downloaded Sexlab
that's almost half of the people who downloaded SUP :v:
1.2 million boners
and they'll never be fully satisfied
oh who was bitching about that weird thing being on the front page on the skyrim nexus
you should check it out now
[editline]16th February 2015[/editline]
i should stop shitting up the thread with bad mods and ask you guys for some good quest related mods. I'm going to be trying out Falskaar.

Wearing unpadded plate mail is even more stupid. The platemail in skyrim is unpadded.

Falskaar is shit so set your expectations low. Wyrmstooth is the only one that seems to be worth bothering with.

Just played it, not sure how far I am but so far some of the voice acting is mediocre and the quest reminds me a lot of the base game and oblivion

Nords don't need warm clothes.

Has anyone run across any mod that forces you to walk everywhere?
(hehe, pun.)
Ideally:
Walking doesn't consume stamina
Running does slowly, and when you run out it forces you to walk again.
Sprinting cost a lot of stamina.
