I actually only just found out the other day that it's not 'Lover Slab' it's 'Lover's lab.' That makes more sense.

Frost resistance doing work
it's stupid because it's completely... Well... Stupid to wear that in the same area where there are hundred foot tall icebergs in frozen tundras where even the bravest nords fear to tread.
Even weirder when you have something like frostfall active where you are dying of hyperthermia and miss bikini over here comes barreling in in nothing but a flannel towel. :v:
You do realize that in Frostfall you can set the warmth levels of armor. If it really bothers you then just set it to give no warmth.
I understand that it's stupid but it's basically what everyone wanted to do when the game was announced :v:
Do you not remember this whole thread talking about how they wanted to be a bare-chested hunk of nord running around Skyrim fucking up dragons with a giant sword, wearing nothing but a bear's head as a hat?
I love starting a game in Helgen with tons of mods on. I greatly enjoy the chaos, and sometimes my game doesn't even explode into a thousand tiny pieces trying to push a horse through a gate!
This time around, Lokir died instantly (apparently everyone will just pretend he's still there, and the archers just shoot into the distance. Weirdly, a blood spurt sound still plays; maybe they hit a bystander?), and the carts ran over and killed one of a bunch of Dawnguard troops wandering around in Helgen.

Don't forget when the cart decides to do three backflips
The last time I started in Helgen, the cart flew off the map right at the start and I was just sezuring around inside. After a few minutes, the character menu just came up, and my character was just standing in some void. Turned out the cart had flown to the map boundary and was way up in the sky, since I soon as I made the character I fell to my death. The game just sent me back to the main menu. 10/10 best skyrim playthrough ever.
Nothing has made me panic more than starting Helgen with Requiem installed. It certainly drilled somewhat more tactical thinking into me after about a day of live, die, reload. By tactical thinking I mean run, hide, and pray someone tougher than me saves the day.
I should try it again.
How do you people fuck up Helgen so badly anyway? The worst that's happened to me is Ulfric keeps staring at me while people are being executed and it's really creepy.
First time I played without mods the carriages just slowly floated upwards into the sky, after a few minutes of ascending the driver climbed out and fell to his death. Then the whole scripted sequence with the prisoners climbing out started whilst we were all in the air.
So one by one, the NPCs all stepped out and fell down to the ground, and when it was my turn I simply teleported in front of Hadvar at which point I was able to customise my character and carry on normally.

I think it has something to do with mods that change the speed of horses IIRC.

Script-heavy mods is a good way to do it. I know at least one mod that's so script-heavy the mod author recommends you use an alternate start so you can actually begin a new game.
Why not use BOSS or LOOT?
They don't work in Wine for some reason. I don't understand it.

Anything that disrupts/lags or hangs script threading or causes the physics templates to change will completely fuck the intro, so pretty much anything.
falskaar now doesn't work for me, one of the scenes wont correctly play in fort urokk
2 characters are required, Some Female and a Child.
Usually the child is missing but for me it's the female, and I can't find her prid
lmao wtf is this husbando shite on the nexus

the mod author probably thought "Hmmm how can i make a strap-on mod lore friendly? THAT'S RIGHT! I'll make strap-ons out of soul gems, hagraven fingers and giant's toes!"

What the hell possessed me to try this mod? I cringed harder playing it than from the video. And I only tried it out for a few minutes and couldn't go any further, creds to novajam for getting that far. I feel bad for my character for putting her through shit like this.
I will say that the voice acting is a cut above the usual cringe-worthy mod though.
Also, I finally realized why the player character always has that blank expression:
It's the face of someone who has seen and done the weirdest shit.
theres a magazine at work from 2005 with a piece about Oblivion before it came out. I'll try to get a scan of it because it's hilarious.
Ground-breaking tech for its day.
TES has always been unique since they made Morrowind, and hell, maybe even Arena and Daggerfall.
Too bad they removed the parallax map and dynamic shadow features.

Parallax mapping is still in there
go into any cave or mine and look at the wall and move around
hell, most of the stone textures have it.
I haven't really been following this game for the past few months anymore, but is there any good TC-mod? Basically I'm bored with Skyrim, but I love playing it. Just not in... Skyrim.

Is that why it looks like someone spit shined everything?

Oh my god I can just imagine this big, intimidating knight walking towards you after he killed all your soldiers, he stands there ready to end you, but he takes off his helmet and he's just like "HEYAAA!" in a high pitched voice.

Journey now, to the land of amazing statues.
Is that why it looks like someone spit shined everything?
Parallax mapping is when 2d textures have multiple layers that move at different speeds depending on viewing angle, to create a 3d-like texture(I think. I haven't really looked at how the textures work, but from observations from the game it seems to be how they work.)
You're probably talking about specular mapping, where a texture is used to determine the shininess of parts of an object.
Is that why it looks like someone spit shined everything?
No, those are specular maps. They make the shiny bits shiny.
Parallax is like an enhanced bump / normal map that basically uses a heightmap as well as normals to make 2D surfaces look 3d from almost any angle (The surface is still flat if viewed from the side). The main example would be STALKER and Crysis 2's brick walls. Skyrim also has Parallax mods that really add to the detail of the world.

I've never actually got any parallax mods to work.. They look darn good though.
