"who did this crime!"
the grey fox
much easier to blame something on a 'theoretical' figurehead that may or may not actually exist
Is it possible for the player character to have nif files exclusive to all the other npcs? This mask has some weird clipping on my gimped argonian

Only if the player character is a unique race, ie playerargonian or something like that.
is there a mod that adds in random campfires in the world with people sitting around them singing songs and telling tales and you can sit down and join them
basically stalker shit, y'know?

fuck bro that's a genius idea for a mod
[editline]21st February 2015[/editline]
I really kind of wish random encounter mods were more unique like that. Adding in encounters similar to the early Fallouts as opposed to just regular enemy encounters.
God fucking damn it. I've been experiencing a repeated crash around the Lakeview Manor area and I did everything trying to fix it. I dealt with every error that popped up in my Papyrus log, even uninstalled Deadly Dragons. I tweaked every value in my ENBoost and the Skyrim Memory Patch. I even reinstalled Skyrim through steam.
Turns out? I had the wrong version of ENB installed.
Good job me.
Speaking of mod's that don't exist, I've long wanted a mod that removed tiered materials in favour of sidegrade materials. i.e., ebony isn't better than elven, it just does more damage but is slower or something like that; though I'd still have iron be weaker than everything else and Daedric and maybe Dragonbone be stronger.
I'd be making a list of ideas in case I ever overcome my phobia of the Creation Kit, but I think I missed some stuff, and hadn't gotten to weapons yet. Thoughts?
HEAVY ARMOUR
Iron - No new stats, same as current armor rating.
Steel - Better than iron, no other stat changes. Same as current armor rating. All heavy armor stats are relative to steel.
Steel Plate - Better than normal steel; slower stamina regen.
Dwarven - Extremely high armor rating; slows wearer down significantly.
Orcish - Absorbs some melee damage as healing; slower health regen.
Heavy Stahlrim - Same as current effect, plus innate frost resistance and fire weakness.
Ebony - Reflects some magical damage as healing; slower health regen.
Daedric - Higher defence, nearby enemies set on fire.
Dawnguard - Slightly less armor than steel, each piece gives vampire resist rather than full set.
Royal Vampire - Absorbs health from nearby enemies and stronger illusion, significantly lower armor rating.
Dragonplate - Faster shout cooldown and +10% resistance against shouts.
Falmer - Poison immunity and increased armor rating; slows wearer down and decreases weapon swing speed.
Imperial - Higher armor rating and increased blocking; decreased magicka regen.
Bonemold - Fire resistance, frost weakness. Fire enchantments are stronger.
Blades Armor - 10% damage resistance against dragons; slower stamina regen.
Wolf Armor - Armor makes less noise, 10% more damage from silver weapons and fire.
Ancient Nord - Faster shout cooldown; lower armor rating.
Nordic Carved - Increase all armor and weapon skills; decrease all magic skills.
LIGHT ARMOUR
Hide - No new stats. Hide upgrades all very slightly better than hide.
Leather - Better than hide, no other changes. Base for light armor.
Elven - No slow down from equipment. Slightly lower armor.
Glass - Reflect some magic damage, slows wearer down more.
Stahlrim - Same as current effect, plus innate frost resistance and fire weakness.
Dragonscale - Faster shout cooldown and +10% damage against dragons.
Falmer - Poison immunity, poisons melee attackers; decreased damage resistance.
Ancient Falmer - More powerful frost and restoration magic; decreased stamina regen.
Forsworn - Greatly increased stamina and health regen; greatly decreased armor rating.
Imperial - Increased stamina regeneration and increased blocking; decreased magicka regen.
Penitus Oculatus - Same as light Imperial, but also has higher armor rating and decreased speed.
Stormcloak - Increased stamina and stamina regeneration; lower magic and magic resistance.
Shrouded Armor - Decreased noise from armor, full set gives extra backstab damage.
Thieves Guild - Better pickpocketing, lockpicking, and carry weight; lower armor rating.

Maybe I would if they didn't cost more than the fucking game.
My local Walmart has been selling Skyrim + all DLCs, and every other Elder Scrolls games + all DLCs all together for $40. They've been selling them at that price for months.
To this day, I will never know why I invested about 400 hours into Oblivion. The strange part is that I have only invested a total of 100 hours total in Skyrim, and I can't get into it as much as Oblivion.
I remember doing all sorts of stuff in Oblivion. In one playthrough, I pissed off almost everyone in Cyrodiil, by attacking the Emperor and the Blades so many times during the tutorial. I remember attempting to kill everyone, but I can't remember why I wanted to. I think I killed everyone who wasn't marked important. I think the save is still on my PS3, untouched since 2010.
Another time, I was doing the Knights of the Nine quest, but for some reason, I couldn't proceed further in the questline. I checked my stats and all was good until I checked my fame. My fame was at -1. I vaguely remember what I did after that. I think I got angry and attacked the Knights of the Nine, mentioning some kind of cleansing or something. Not sure if they died or not.
Anyways, long story short, I remember a lot more about Oblivion that Skyrim.

Obligatory "All I remember is the faces"
It was probably because you were new to the concept of TES gameplay, and Oblivion had really interesting quests and music.

Why are you just using Immersive Creatures? At least that one makes it easy to disable and creatures you don't like.
Uhm, whats the usual size for an "healthy" save for skyrim?
In 200 saves my general save size have gone from about 4mb to 17 mb. And that is in about 6 hours gametime.
That cant be good?
Probably not.
[editline]22nd February 2015[/editline]
In 8 hours of play I only went up 2mb.

it will make your life better
Damn, tried starting a new character and it keeps crashing as soon as i get to the "keep close to the wall" portion where i think it teaches you to run
Why are you just using Immersive Creatures? At least that one makes it easy to disable and creatures you don't like.
Can't, it requires dawnguard, which I don't have
Spears [and javelins] by Soolie for Skyrim
It requires FNIS and some files from PCEA to work

I would definitely download that new spears mod had first person compatibility (don't you dare say get that one mod that makes third person animations into third person)
I can't play skyrim in third person
I can't play skyrim in third person
Well I use immersive first person view, so it probably won't affect me.

is it a retexture or is the mesh altered?
is it a retexture or is the mesh altered?
I think it's a Balverine retexture.

yiff
I'm in an argument with a friend about which armor class is better end game
I'm saying light armor and he's saying heavy armor.
My points are:
-Dragonscale armor hits the armor cap, heavy armor goes way over.
-Light armor has better perks:
50% Increased Stamina Regen,
10% Chance to Avoid Melee Damage
-Heavy armor has useless perks:
Increased Unarmed Damage (if you're doing a serious playthrough),
50% less stager (you don't get staggered that often and you could just talk to paarthurnax if you think it's a problem),
Reduced Fall Damage (useless if you have an IQ of over 3 and the become ethereal shout),
10% Chance to Reflect Melee Damage (does not mean that you avoid that damage, it just deals a small amount of damage back to the enemy which is usually minimal)
In vanilla, heavy > light, period.
In vanilla, heavy > light, period.
But what about end-game, where you're level 100 in smithing and level 100 in light armor.
heavy, because once you equip a follower in anything above orcish you win the game outright
but light armour looks sexier
