So I'm RP'ing a Bosmer ranger type that abides by the Green Pact. Something that's become apparent is that this is going to make alchemy problematic. I'm curious, does the 'no harming/eating plant life' rule apply to plant life outside of Valenwood? I know that all wood outside of Valenwood is free game, and some places I've seen people lump plant life in with that rule, and some places have said they're separate.
It only applies to plant life in Valenwood. There's nothing "waaa save the trees waaa" about it, it's more or less a formal agreement they made with the land of Valenwood in return for it not murdering them anymore.
Just finished the Dark Brotherhood quest line. It's kind of sad that a cult of murderous psychopaths that worship a dead woman have more personality, character development, and likability than both the College and Companions combined.
cult of murderous psychopaths? fuck no, those guys are your average 9-5ers. why do you think each kill is so meticulously planned? there's serious work to be done in population control, as opposed to the companions, who are more like a maintenance crew that fuck around until called for, and college people are always twats.

Captured some random ~atmospheric scenery and the fact that three individual dragons have decided to park their fat asses around my house at Lakeview Manor for some inexplicable reason.

Y'know, as ugly as Skyrim can look at times, it can make for some great scenic shots that you just want as a wallpaper.

I even get my current avatar from this.
next tes game better not have these fucking dragons or i'm quitting videogames
Oblivion portals were annoying as shit. Good thing they made them fly and hunt you down in skyrim so they are even more annoying
i liked oblivion gates (with mods)
i liked dragons (with sexmods obv)
[editline]23rd February 2015[/editline]
are there actually any dragon penis models, i remember before skyrim was released everyone was joking about how the first mod was going to be a dragon penis mod
I'd sort of like the next one to be based around Akavir. You are from Tamriel, but arrive by ship (and get captured for the obligatory prison start). Make the faction that sent you to be part of your character back story that affects gameplay in a few ways even. Like imperial military expedition or seeking the weather magic for the college. Your primary reason would change of course, but your back story could serve as an interesting b plotline guiding you around an alien continent.
Not that I don't think the other portions of Tamriel are neat, I'm just curious about this other continent. So many possibilities.

If anyone remembers that Dwemer Spectres mod I released... god, a long time ago, I've cleaned it up, updated graphics, and added some new features to it. Check it out.
Oblivion portals:
Cons: Tedious, repetitive, unpleasant to look at by design, took a good hour to finish even a small one, don't respawn, shit spawns around them and kills travelers, fucking hundreds of them
Pros: unique level designs only found in portals, breaks up monotony of ruins, caves, and forts, unique enemies and alchemical ingredients.
Dragons:
Cons: Fly around going "tee hee you can't hit me" before finally landing and flying away again, repetative as shit, kill NPCs required for quests if they're outside, damage soaks
Pros: Great loot, doesn't take TOO long to kill them, great visual design.

Natural Lighting and Atmospherics, tweaked for ELFX. The impact isn't too bad, I play at around 30-50 fps, but I can't really record with it.
Hey let's see what's on the Nexus today. PS Bridal Followers Overhaul? Oh, well that already sounds promi--

Awful, terrible things.

I feel like this is the way that TES has to go now, since ESO lets you visit all of Tamriel. Part of the magic of a new Scrolls game is exploring a fresh, new world, and ESO has kinda stolen that possibility from future Scrolls games set in Tamriel. I'm sure there would be people who'd complain about a Scrolls game set in Elsweyr or Summerset Isle because it was already in ESO.
I've always thought that along with Akavir, Yokuda, and being present at the time of its destruction, might make for an interesting setting. I suppose any place as mysterious as Akavir or Yokuda could have potential for an interesting game, though.

Except that most people aren't going to play ESO, ESO takes place waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before any other TES game and things have changed a LOT since (it's long before Tiber Septim, even), and it isn't even really the whole of Tamriel, just particular interesting parts of it.
To be honest, I can't really see a TES game taking place off Tamriel, at least not for a while. There's still so much going on there, it wouldn't feel right to suddenly go vacation in Fantasyasianland.
eso is set a thousand years before skyrim
nothing will look the same, and it's non-canon so their version of the unexplored regions won't match up with bethesda's version. bethesda just has to make sure to make the next game's world bigger than skyrim.

I think someone took measurements a long time ago, but Cyrodiil in Oblivion is actually ~20 square miles larger than Skyrim.
Kind of explains a lot when you're standing at the top of High Hrothgar and looking out at the land around you makes you realize that this entire nation is smaller than your hometown.
[editline]23rd February 2015[/editline]
Much less populated too.

Worst part is how [sp]They already pulled that twist in Oblivion where everyone who you formed a relationship in the DB died and it felt subpar in Skyrim[/sp]

I always wanted it to be much larger (i like walking long distances with no landmarks and nothing around, gives a chance for you relax.)
but others claim that skyrim is already too sparse

it was p weird in oblivion how everyone very suddenly goes from being an asshole to being really nice to you just when you [sp]have to murder all of them.[/sp]

Honestly, I disagree. I feel like ESO takes away from that exploration excitement about as much as Arena did. Which is to say, not at all. I hope and expect that ESO will have very little bearing on how Bethesda designs the rest of the provinces. Bethesda is smarter than to give you the exact same world you've already seen. How would they excuse it? CHIM or some shit, I dunno. Hey, not like Bethesda hasn't made massive changes to an entire nations landscape just 'cause they felt like it,

I just pretend that Cyrodiil is actually a mix of subtropical forest and Mediterranean scrub, that the way it looked in Oblivion was all just a dream, and that everything is ok and perfect in the world
[sp]seriously why isn't it like that one floriana australis mod, it would fit the pseudo-Roman thing way better, and make more sense if it's a cleared out jungle and would look so much better and we already had High Rock for medieval fantasy nooooooo[/sp]
