So I just realized What if Dovahkiin is Martin Septim, or at least has his soul ? It'd explain why Dagon immediately tries to fuck over the PC when you do his quest and the PC's affinity with Paarthunax. It'd also explain why the PC has seemingly no background. He just materialized at the right place and at the right time.
So why'd the legion armor go from Roman in Morrowind to something else in Oblivion, then back to Roman again in Skyrim?
2 centuries and a huge war is enough explanation to give the design changes a pass really
So why'd the legion armor go from Roman in Morrowind to something else in Oblivion, then back to Roman again in Skyrim?
Think of it like this: Cyrodiil Legion = National Guard Legion in provinces = Army
I think it's more likely that the arms and armour the Legion uses and wears in Skyrim is all produced locally, based on the style of the time and place then modified to fit the Legion's requirements, the differences between Cyrodiil and Skyrim might just be geographic. Plate armour also has to be specially cared for to prevent rust, it makes sense that if it can be produced locally the Legion would prefer to do that over transporting the armour from Cyrodiil to Skyrim. Contrary to what the game suggests, it's really uncomfortable and can even be unhygienic to wear many kinds of armour for long periods of time, usually you'll only want to wear it when you're expecting to be in a dangerous place. If you compare the weapons and armour to equipment not produced for the Legion in Skyrim, there are plenty of similarities. The other design features can probably be explained by looking at the Blades armour in Oblivion, it could be that this was the basis for the Legion's requirements for armour in Skyrim.

The awful self shadows annoyed me for years. I wish i'd known sooner that you can improve them a lot just by changing a line in a ini
Was reading this fan-lore-story-thinger. It's well-written, and is a pretty good explanation of why Peryite is a dragon, and why there's two Daedric Princes of Order. This line, though...it's beautiful.
Suddenly a thought-plan-image struck Mephala, and he smiled a crooked smile that made even Hircine flinch. Jyggalag, however, was unfazed.“Ugh, let me fix that for you,” he said and reached to try to make Mephala’s smile un-crooked.

What do you change in the ini file?
In my My games/oblivion/oblivion.ini change iShadowMapResolution from 256 to 1024/2048 or higher. Improves the shadows cast by hair and shit A LOT [editline]26th February 2015[/editline] If your computer is from the 90's don't do this
Just hit level 7 in oblivion and suddenly everything is one shotting me and has dwarven armour is this the awful scaling? can i turn it off?
What ENB if any do you guys prefer?
What ENB if any do you guys prefer?
Realistic Lighting Overhaul My PC isn't good enough for ENBs.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50065/? I show literally everyone who asks this one, since I'm confident it's the best ENB for anyone wanting a hyper realistic style. Warning, enormous performance requirements. Other ENBs like Realvision have bad contrast on shadows, the shadows are way too dark or way too light. This is one of the few ENBs I find that actually gets color contrast on shadows to near-perfect. It especially nails making the shadows not look like they're shaded with black, which is a key ingredient to hyper-realistic lighting.
[t]http://static-8.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/50065-1-1390492849.jpg[/t] daytime looks like shit

[editline]26th February 2015[/editline] it's getting the correct exposure, the whites are mostly good, the water is not overly reflective and the shadows aren't distracting. neutral colour tones for those who prefer that, with an aptly coloured and lit skybox
So I was planning on doing a playthrough of Skyrim, but I was wondering what everyone's opinions on some combat/overhaul mods are since I kinda think vanilla skyrim isn't that great. I was planning on rolling with SkyRe which I found to be stupidly hard but satisfying, but was wondering how the other options played out; preferably something that'd work with a ton of weapon and armour mods alongside it.

Try that
I remember reading once someone posed that the Legion wears different uniforms depending on where they are. In Cyrodiil they wear the Oblivion armor, in all foreign provinces they wear the Morrowind/Skyrim armor. The simpler answer is that Bethesda doesn't give much of a shit and wanted to make Cyrodiil more generic fantasy Europe :v:
I just assumed that the heavy armor in Cyrodiil is only worn by the homeland troops.

It's great for "cinema-esque verite", I wouldn't call it "natural", more like "90's premium CRT movie watching enb". It's not bad by any stretch, but it is flat as fuck.
combat
get ultimate combat and action combat and Violens and spears and realistic ragdolls and no spinning death anim and PerMa
really well
Actually not really well, way too far south for Skyrim style exposure and contrast. Get some hi-rez views of a scandinavian scene at full noon with no clouds and you'll notice some pretty hard contrast going on. Gopher actually did video on this, and he should know, given where he lives.
Exactly. Compare this to Realvision, the most popular ENB trying to go for a "realistic" style [img_thumb]http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/30936-3-1424367387.jpg[/img_thumb] oh my god [img_thumb]http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/30936-1-1418064695.jpg[/img_thumb] jesus dial down the contrast, seriously. And the exposure.
Yeah, I tried RealVision for about a minute and it completely failed to impress me, not only is it needlessly complicated to set up for an ENB, it just looks bad compared to NLA. I'm reworking my Skyrim install and am going to give this one a shot, someone posted it awhile ago: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61206/?

w/e I can't try it anyways because I get like 8 fps

your gpu decision was horrible no offence [editline]27th February 2015[/editline] i mean you completely mixed up the budgeting for CPU and GPU. that i7 is useless for gaming
your gpu decision was horrible no offence [editline]27th February 2015[/editline] i mean you completely mixed up the budgeting for CPU and GPU. that i7 is useless for gaming
well I never bought a pc or anything before, there was a $1000 prebuilt for sale in a retail store and the guy said it was good for gaming and programming so I trusted him at least I learned to actually research the damn product, I should've just canceled the fucking purchase as soon as he said "do you want a $100 discount if i install these programs for you" but i thought that was my inner anticapitalistic child speaking [editline]26th February 2015[/editline] I used to have a cheap 2006 office computer that could only run source games like HL2 on medium at 30fps, I thought this purchase would make me happier but no it just made it worse when I'm limited to what I can and can't do with this thing
it's for office computers and media computers
I rather not shit up the thread with my pc so can we honestly drop it.
