skooma, not even once.

Tell me your secrets.
Ulfric probably wouldn't even try allying with the Dunmer and Argonians, I mean he treats them like shit in Winterhold. He'd probably think that the Nords can kick the Thalmor's ass on their own
I think he treats them like shit because he doesn't want lower class peasant immigrants in the luxurious part of the city. After all there's a HIGH ELF who sells things in the market, if he truly hated all non-Nords she wouldn't be allowed.

They're only lower class peasants because they legally have to be. Dark Elves are forced into the Grey Quarter, and the Argonians are not allowed to enter the city by law. Niranye is implied to have used her connection to the Thieves Guild to get a blind eye turned her way.
edit: I'm coming to realize we are a pro-Imperial thread

You say that like there's some legitimate reasoning that Ulfric could be in the right over the imperials.

Damn straight, long live the empire.
I just did did the battle for Fort Dunstad, and my mods must have glitched it into the most awesome battle I've ever experienced. In addition to the Stormcloaks that are supposed to be there, a bunch of bandits also spawned, making it a large-scale three-way fight. I managed to get a shadowplay recording and will post it when it's done uploading. During one of my failed attempts, some of the Stormcloaks turned into werewolves, which while confusing, was a pretty neat wildcard. I didn't have shadowplay enabled during that, though.
i was quite surprised with how much better the empire are than the stormcloaks when i first played skyrim tbh. the first thing ulfric does in the game is escape a dragon and say a cool thing in a gravelly deep scandinavian voice, and his rebels are called the Stormcloaks (which is radical) and the empire is called the Empire, everything is set up for a dumb star wars plot. and then ten seconds later it's like "no he is actually an ultranationalist KKK psycho" and you no longer have any reason to support them at all

Nice twist for any new players. "Thought this was gonna be star-wars? Lol, you just signed up to the KKK. GG idiot."
Funny thing is, is that if you actually signed up and realized this afterwards, you couldn't go back to the imperials and betray the stormcloaks.

So I've had this problem with pretty much all Bethesda games, Fallout or TES, but this thread seems most
popular so I'll ask for help here, plus it happens with Skyrim most often
the game crashes like a motherfucker, which is a given, but it crashes in a very fuck you manner
when it crashes, it freezes, the only thing I can do is alt tab out, however the game becomes a big, giant black window at this point
the only thing I can do is move my mouse around on the taskbar, if I go above that it disappears. In fact, the game covers everything. You can still technically alt tab to another window but the black window will cover it, meaning I can't interact with my computer at all, including task manager. Sometimes it'll let me right click on the game in the taskbar which sometimes the close window option will work, most often not. The end result is that the only action available is to ctrl+alt+delete and start signing out of my computer, closing almost everything before I'm able to stop it.
Is there any way to stop this shit from happening? I can accept that the games crash a bunch but this level of fuckery needs to be dealt with.

After weeks of modding trial and error, I am finally happy with the way my game works and looks, which means that I can take some time to play it for a change. I managed to create a Skyrim which has seemingly infinite grass fields via optical illusion and which runs very well on my single GTX 770 4gb and stock i5 4670k together with some heavy ENB effects, tweaked ultra shadows and 4k parallax textures with 1920x1080 resolution. FPS is stable 34-48 everywhere without stuttering.[sp]Don't mind the blurry quality in the pics.[/sp]
Tufts of grass pasted into the LOD textures?
Tufts of grass pasted into the LOD textures?
That'd be a smart thing that beth should have done.
In task manager, go to option and set it to "Always on top"
Good idea, I'll try this. Thanks!

They're peasants because they're refugees. Red Mountain exploding displaced a lot of people.
They're peasants because they're refugees. Red Mountain exploding displaced a lot of people.
Red Mountain erupted in 4E, 5. Skyrim takes place in 4E, 201.
The Dunmer have been segregated and kept from integrating into the rest of Windhelm for 200 years. Being refugees isn't the main reason they're peasants.
They lost everything though, of course they would still be poor after so long.
They lost everything though, of course they would still be poor after so long.
The Nords actively try to keep them poor. Just talk to any Nord or Dunmer in Windhelm and they'll tell you how it is.
Of course, because I'm a shortsighted bastard, I even joined the Stormcloaks on my Dunmer pyromancer. Yeah they think I'm trash, and yeah they'll probably indirectly bring about the end of the world, but fuck that Imperial bitch in Helgen.
but being poor for 200 years? that makes no sense.
In 200 years America became one of the biggest countries on the PLANET after starting out as like a few thousand jackass farmers with guns and you're telling me that after 200 years the dunmer in Winterhold didn't think to just move out and build their own fucking city down the road? that's just plain idiocy and there's no way that a sentient race of logical, thinking people would just sit there like jackasses and say "oh, poor us". Come to fucking think of it, WHERE DID ALL THE DUNMER GO? their entire CONTINENT went bust and they never actually got around to making at least one city somewhere? IN 200 YEARS?

I believe it's implied that the Dunmer currently in Windhelm are refugees from Solstheim rather than Vvardenfell, or simply couldn't return to mainland Morrowind for reasons that aren't given. (Some have options to ask if they ever think about returning to Morrowind but I have literally no recollection of what their answers are.)
The High King of the time gave Solstheim to the Dunmer in 4E, 16 so they had a place to go. Most refugees went there or settled back into mainland Morrowind. They reopened the Ebony mines at Raven Rock and that's what they lived on, and it wasn't until 4E, 181 that it was completely depleted and Solstheim was pretty much entirely abandoned as well.
So, basically. I think everybody escaped Vvardenfell and went to Windhelm until the High King gave them Solstheim and then they went there and slowly moved back to Morrowind as everything settled down, and then when Solstheim started going to shit some had to go back to Windhelm and for whatever reason couldn't leave. Because reasons.
I don't think any of the Dunmer in Windhelm are OG refugees that have been living there for 200 years and not thinking "man I sure am treated like shit here, maybe I should pack up and move" :v:

oh man...
Spyro, why did you have to go and destroy your series with that skylanders crap ;_;
Out of curiosity does anyone here still play ESO? And how is it now?
I'm going to try (read: TRY, not PLAY) ESO only if it's going F2P and they'll allow me to roll an Imperial out of the bat
Nom Nom Nom

I've been dragging my ass around the snowy northern parts of Skyrim for four in game days looking for a Snowy Sabercat so I can finish up the additions to my house and I still have yet to find one.
I swear if I weren't looking for one, they'd be forming up in a god damn conga line behind me but nooooo. Snow Bears? Sure. Snow wolves? Up to my armpits. Horkers? Oh yeah. But no one single White Sabercat.
I could always just cave and buy an overpriced pelt from a vendor at Dawnstar but I still like to think I have my pride.
They spawn most in the northeastern areas I believe, like in the stretch of beach and mountains between Windhelm and Winterhold.

That is indeed a very surprised face. Seriously though, whose idea was this?
10/10 name though
Remember that time when 12 foot tall Argonians went fucking crazy and started storming into Oblivion gates to the point were the Daedra were like "Oh shit" and had to close everything off in the Black Marsh?
