It was going to happen sooner or later. Nobody believed me, but it's happening.
[editline]21st January 2015[/editline]
Well, not exactly F2P, but you don't have to pay $15 per month to keep playing anymore.
Yeah, they're going to Guld Wars, Buy the game but play for free, route.
I'd be happy to if it wasn't $67 in Canada
The Elder Scrolls Online, now subtitled Tamriel Unlimited
That's goddamn horrible.
On the other hand, more buy-once-and-you-have-it-all MMOs is nice. May actually pick it up now.
FUCK, NOW I HAVE TO HONOR MY PROMISE
Better than F2P at least.
I'm going to try the game then. Anyone who's currently playing that is able to tell me whether the game's any good?

It's much better than it was at launch, and almost all the concerns of Angry Joe back in the day have been fixed. Grouping works now, monsters drop more than one gold, bots have been nuked, bugs have been fixed, etc.
Plus a lot of new things have been added, such as Dwemer armor.

Cool to hear :) I'm wondering, they tried to give players more of a TES-feeling, has that worked?

Thank god. I thoroughly enjoyed it when I played the beta, and was looking to see all of Tamriel.
Even with all that, though. There's no way in hell it was worth paying a subscription fee.

Ah that's awesome. Will probably pick it up when it goes to that then, despite its flaws.

It did, at least for me.
The fact that the book system is working properly is already a big step since I've always been a big book collector in TES games. Now I have over 3000 books to find (:
FUCK, NOW I HAVE TO HONOR MY PROMISE
why would you ever accept a toxx on the grounds of "If X MMO ever goes free to play, I will Y"
that's like saying that you'd get a sex change if Leonard DiCaprio ever gets an oscar. It's fucking bound to happen at some point.
FUCK, NOW I HAVE TO HONOR MY PROMISE
i mean technically it's not truly f2p, so you're still safe

Yeah it's not going F2P anymore than Guild Wars is F2P, but I'm down I bought the full edition of the game on release so I guess I can pick it up again without re-subbing. Honestly the only reason I stopped subbing in the first place is I mostly game with my real life friends and none of them got it, so I was always swapping over to other games out of it. Hoping now a few more people will pick it up, at least on a steam sale or something.
I'll probably get ESO as well. I thought it was only a matter of time before this happened.
Daggerfall has stabilized, and with the modernized controls it's really fun. Here's my character.
As you've probably already surmised, Crowns are the paid-for currency spent in an in-game store also arriving in March. That's how Bethesda intend to make their money in ESO from now on: with convenience items, customization options and extra DLC.
I'm not sure how DLC will work in a MMO with this kind of business model. I mean it's already 20$ more expensive than GW2 and if they're going to add additional paid content on top of that it might get worse.
Still, we don't know what kind of DLC they are talking about and I'll definitively give it a try once it goes free-to-play.

DLC basically has no consistent meaning now, pretty sure they're just talking expansions.
So when March 17th rolls around, will there be a Facepunch guild?
I had fun when I played Eso, but my computer stopped letting me update the game, so that's when I stopped playing. Plus my computer broke not too long afterwards so I need to get a new computer anyways.

My gaming group that didn't really end up partaking in ESO much had a group that had most of the North American players in it, but a solely FP group was kinda hard to put together because there wasn't even enough players to make a guild bank really
Is the Imperial race still locked unless you bought the Limited Edition?
Does Project ultimatum make gold weigh? I noticed I'm easily over encumbered despite having not so much in my inventory. If it is, is there any way I can fix that?

That's actually a pretty valid point
Is your Vampire girlfriend from Dawnguard meant to be endearing or something? She's so fucking annoying, I jumped off a mountain so I could put some space between myself and her while I went to her home.
We also walked for a day and a half but she didn't catch fire, what a pisstake.

I'm using her as a follower because she feels rather unique. She also has a peculiar AI that will make her do things in the background while you talk to NPCs (like sitting on a chair or using a work station, if available)
That said, yes, after Dawnguard proper she becomes rather shallow. I heard that if you took specific dialogue choices during the questline you could cure her from vampirism: apparently I screwed up though, and she will dodge the subject every time
Thinking of starting a run of Skyrim with the goal of eating literally everyone using the Ring of Namira. The only question is what race to use.
Bosmer?

Serana and Lydia are constantly at war for "worst follower in Skyrim".

She's essential, at the time of release was the highest max level follower, and she's voiced by a voice actress I quite like (Laura Bailey) so I never had an issue with her.
