I got a question. My alt right now is under fire with a hardware ban against my PC, the only way to use SL is by using modified clients, which lack a lot of things. I was wondering to get rid of this hardware ban would reformatting my PC (restarting [i]everything[/i]) fix the hardware ban on my PC?

My account isn't the thing that's banned it's just LL made me unable to use the regular clients without an error stating that my hardware is banned from playing SL.

So would reformatting work?

Negative, it's called an hardware ban for a reason.

It bans your MAC ID I believe. Your computer has one like it depending of the hardware specs it has, so reformatting would be just erasing all your data, but your ID would be the same because you still have the same hardware as before...

I dunno if I'm wrong though, but I think it is that way.

MACs are tied to NICs, but I heard they also ban by HDD serials.

Indeed... And yeah, removing the old hard drive would be annoying. However, bans are meant to be hard to bypass anyway.

I'm one of the many individuals who look on SL to find some monetary benefit to bring back to RL.

So far, I'm [I]kinda[/I] succeeding. I work at a prominent zyngo/deal hall, earning about L$1500 day (my other colleague, whose been there longer, earns L$4000 a day if she wants)

I wonder if i can save enough to buy a DSLR camera...hmmm xD
