No wonder you got hardware-banned. :v:
[EDIT]
Hey, I just received an e-mail about XStreet SL and seems like they're having a policy change... and seems like you can no longer make stuff based in RL brands or stuff from games (such as fanmade clothing/cars/weapons/decoration/buildings)...
I thought they always had that policy.
Heard of some guy getting sued for making some RL guitars before.
Really? Strange... well, I see a lot of weapons based in real-life ones, or fan work, like Half-Life 2 stuff and so on. At least this policy strictly forbid such kind of content, as they said it clearly, and they will take down listings from XStreet SL at least... I'm not sure about in-world content.

Gah! D: Good thing I bought this daft punk helmet already..
I have a daft punk helmet as well! it plays songs as well! ofmgofgm
Oh no, what will I do without shitty stuff with ripped textures

Wait until they start forbidding stuff, then look at what big brands do :v:
Aye, D:
No wonder you got hardware-banned. :v:
Actually I never griefed in the game, the entire 18 months I played. I got banned because someone got butthurt I was in a relationship with someone the other person wanted, and jealousy got them to eventually AR are me and him for being a year underaged.
ARing people because of e-ralationships is pathetic and selfish.

I think it's always been like that. I have a friend that a long time ago made an in-game Starbucks and LL told him to remove the logo and anything related to the company from the store.
An amazing realistic sculpture, it's really creepy too. But amazing.
*nasty pictures*
Man, I wonder why people won't make avatars that realistic, Since the process of making them is basically the same.
Have a look at all Converse/Nike/Desert Eagle/Lamborghini/Gravity gun attempts/Random shit you see around. They're taking all that away now, strictly.
Also, you can't make an avatar like that because you're restricted to the standard mesh and standard texture resolution. You can't sculpt a body and animate it properly because it is all stiff, plus the shading/shadows and all the material effects can't be done in SL.

You never could in SL. It's against U.S. Law, but Linden never really enforced it.
Ah, I see.
I don't get why a company wouldn't want some free advertising of their products though. And after all, their sales won't get worse for seeing them in digital content.

It's -still- copyright infringement.
Say you made a completely unique car, patented it, copyrighted it, only you owned the rights to show, display, and sell that car with it's completely unique inner and outer design. Someone uses your car on an image in a billboard for something like a beer advertisement. There's a woman displayed laying over your car with the beer, and the company logo on your car isn't well displayed. The hype from your new car is such that many people recognize it and see it as the cool thing to have.
The beer company is trying to piggyback on YOUR success, without notifying you or licensing the rights to show your car in the advertisement. They'll reap the benefits of subconscious (or conscious) thoughts like "Oh hey, sexy lady on that sweet new car; what beer is she holding? We should get that." Their logo and brand is going to be plastered all over the advertisement, with your product sitting in the background being used as a beneficial prop to THEIR success.
If I was in the position of the car's inventor, I would not take that as "free advertising", nor would I be taking the sales (despite their digital nature) of replicas of my products any better. I still don't get a cut out of them, and I as an owner don't get any recognition.
@KingLouis: Well, you're completely right there. It's not showing what's the car brand or anything else. As you said, it's like giving "our product" a good position because we have the success of the others. But what I meant is naming the brands, where it comes from, giving credits to the original idea/designers... etc.
Although, BREACH does that: They take away the brand designer and rename it for BREACH, like "BREACH USP .45" or "BREACH MP5", and have their logo and name painted over the gun everywhere. There it pisses me off, because the USP and MP5 were developed, invented and designed by H&K. Just an example of naming of a few SL brands which do that, and which I am against of, since it sucks that some people make a design like it was theirs for plagiarism.

I disagree with that as well. It's, again, not fair at all and I understand where you're coming from completely. It's like making a Gibson guitar in SL and naming it something silly like Bigson. It's not much better, and hopefully this may encourage the producers of such things to be a little more creative.
I do own a BREACH gun myself (The BREACH MP7) and it's a fairly well scripted gun, although I've never used it in any kind of actual combat. If there's heavy scripting involved it -could- be passed as another brand, but I would at least look on it better if the readme said "Based on the MP7 by Heckler & Koch." Though, still, that would not likely help H&K's sales any, as really, there aren't many people that are going to buy a gun in Second Life and say "Hey wow! I sure would like one of these in real life." and go out to spend money on the gun and ammunition.

Nonono, I didn't mean that, you didn't understand it. Not renaming a product guitar and renaming it to something else, I mean designing something based in Real Life and naming it like the real one, and the title saying who's the actual owner of the properties, unlike BREACH does, like a CASIO wristwatch for an avatar, saying brand name plus model, and of course, noting it in the notecard (the name of the brand who designed it originally).
I don't know if I am explaining properly now.
About your BREACH gun, I do own BREACH weapons too, and because they're "fairly well scripted" (WHAT!?) doesn't mean they have the right to steal the design. It's pretty much the same thing.

I think we're on the same page but just not understanding each other correctly
Also when I said "fairly well" I did mean it lightly

Probably we aren't, lol. And now I get it about the BREACH MP7.

Yeah it's about time!
We should start placing bets about how this new system is gonna be abused.
We should start placing bets about how this new system is gonna be abused.
You furries are going to use it to fill SL with even more furry crap?
On another note; I just made a car, am I cool now?

You see that pimped out motherfucker? Fuck yeah. You can drive that bitch, too. 0-500Mph in 2 seconds.

Hell yeah, it's even got REAR LIGHTS.
Oh, and...

Abused in what way exactly
@Rixx2: I'd rather seeing the furry crap you talk about than the complete shit you seem to make.
@jordguitar: Things like... making a tree and making each leaf as a single prim, instead of joining them in a single one to save resources.
@Rixx2: I'd rather seeing the furry crap you talk about than the complete shit you seem to make.
Awww.. C'mon! That car is the first thing I've ever made! :frown:
Also, my name's Rixxz. Not "Rixx" .
I am going to guess we will have complete and better avatars with all the bits included. Because that is going to COMPLETELY happen in the first week/month
Awww.. C'mon! That car is the first thing I've ever made! :frown:

I'm sorry... RIXXZ.
Also, don't make your car get 500 mph in 2 seconds. Everybody does that in SL and they never realize how crappy that is. :v:
I'm sorry... RIXXZ.

Actually, it doesn't. I just wrote that for it to sound extreme. :c00l:
Signed up using a Mc'Donalds employee's mobile number, and I made a "Medical sniper rifle".
Its basically a white gun with a large red cross plastered on the side, and has a clip of 5 giant syringes. Its pretty damn fun to use. I also made a steampunk backpack thing with a claw and drill hand hingamys sprouting out. Also works as a jetpack, which is cool to.
Also, why doesnt Linden lab or whatever the fuck they are called implement hitscan? Beacuse these spammed physical objects going at high speeds (bullets) are probably the main reason everwhere lags like shit.
And another thing: everyone complains about lag. No exceptions. Including the people with 1000+ prim (usually furry) avatars with lots of useless particle effects like sparkes on every one of the 50 God-damned earrings they adorn, and not to mention invisable sculpted dog cocks. And what about the 150+ prim watches that people use beacuse they aparntly need the realism. Srsly, no one is going to notice the prim count or the 50 scripts keeping the time correct. The only way its detectable is if your ping goes higher when you are in the sim :S
Yes, the building system for this is awesome. But the community really makes /b/ look smart. You think people would realise that the avatars they use and the super-prim/script buildings they make are the main reason it takes 5 years to walk from one end of a sim to another.
Really, is this better than garrys mod? My computer can run HL2 and and Bioshock at the same time (max settings, with a fps of about 30 on both) yet i never get past 20 fps lowest settings on SL, even if I use the few locally hosted sims that exist.
