This thread makes me sad, remembering all of the time, money, and fun I spent in SL. Until I was banned of course. I know I could of made a new account but it wouldnt be the same.
You can make money in this just by doing shit for people or building shit, they pay you in game money, which can be bought from LL with real money, once you build up enough you can resell the money to LL for real money. I know people who make their whole living from sales in this game.
It's hard to get started in doing this if you don't have any real skills

Stay off the mainland (starting area and ajacent sims and so on) Avoid actual mature areas (:gooncamp:). Search>Showcase Choose some and explore. If you want to build something, go to a public sandbox and build. Too much crap on the ground? Make cube, sit on it, Right Click> Edit> Object and edit the first Z value to 1000 2000 3000 4000 or somewhere in-between untill you got a open area then click create in the same box and click the cube your sitting on and stretch it out and move it under you and stand up.

I'm starting to lose faith in SL. All of the people I met within this year are abandoning SL, I don't have any income so I don't even have a chance to cash out money at all and over the past month or two I'd be lucky to log on once a week, it's not as interesting as it was anymore...
Anyone here playing in Caledon? It's the only place i'm in.

But that was because I mainly gambled that stuff back, I guess.
I've tried taking up building and sculpting in terms of Maya and shit, but I never get anywhere. My photoshop skills aren't exactly up to scratch so I can't compete with the professionals on SL

those people either have a sucessfull buisness or are apart of a business who is getting paid to do that. Other than that, the lab is pressing the whole ownership of objects in world.
