That look's more like a wolf then a snow leopard.
This game looks like a mess
This game looks like a mess
It is.
I never exactly learned how to build stuff... It sorta bugged me real easily.

Holy shit that looks like something from a game!
As for me, the game is fun, and depending on your specs you can give shadows a try since it makes the game look awesome depending on where you are. I will try to get a pic or two of that when I get the chance.
Anyone got a link to the Velociraptor Avatar?
Holy shit that looks like something from a game!
Hardly surprising considering the platform.
Anyone got a link to the Velociraptor Avatar?
There are a few... do you mean the ones from the "Avaria" sim?
There's a shop in the sky of that sim, just look up for Avaria if that one is the one you're looking for... it will take a while to load because it's a huge shop.
How do you turn shadows on? I've got all the in-game options I can find maxed out, but it still doesn't look half as good as a lot of these screenshots. I'm back to building blimps. Don't know why. I just like building blimps. Could prolly sell one or two of 'em, but I'm never quite happy enough with them to feel comfortable selling.
And what is it with all the furries in this thread? If I had to judge Second Life based solely on this thread, I'd think that the entire community was composed of furries

To turn shadows on you will need to have Viewer 2. You can try it in viewers such as Emerald, however those shadows aren't entirely working properly. You will have to enable the advance menu, then the admin menu in order to access the shadows via the rendering sub-menu. I could be wrong, but that is how I get shadows.
As for the furries in this thread, yes, SL is full of furries, but they are better then the ones you would find in the furry sub-forum here.

Thanks, yo
SL really isn't full of furries, is what I'm saying. Yeah, there are a lot of 'em, but there are way more normal avatars than furrytars in SL. I just thought it was weird that the majority of posters in this thread seem to be of the furry variety.
Alert, alert- minorites gathering.
Nah, it's just most SL humans tend to be clubgoers, and the standard mesh is kind of ugly... but a very few of them are actually "furries", just people with an anthro avatar...

I would use a human avatar once someone makes a skin and mesh that is to my liking. Until then, I am sticking to either my usual dragon avatar or something else of the anthro sort.
I know to that SL has people like goths,Blingtards, vampires, combat types, concert goers. There are various sims that have rock concerts in SL.
Don't forget griefers in Armour

Mine's a thin old man with a mustache, glasses, and a receding hairline. He wears a pair of slacks with a brown sport jacket. He's perfectly ordinary. If you want an original avatar, go for a completely ordinary one. You'll stand out.

That's why I usually wear common jackets and baggy pants... it's funny how here the "normal" is the "unique" here.
Anyone know why on most message boards, why people start shit if they find out that you're a furry? Because i've been insulted and harrassed on some boards like a Conservative board for being a furry.
Uhm... conervative + furry = bad explosion.
Basically because many furries are bisexual or homosexual... conservatives do not like them because of their extreme religion, therefore they don't like furries.
(One of the many reasons)
It's the fashion of nowadays, blame furries of everything, even in SL many people might grief you if you just wear an anthro avatar.

Equating conservatives to extreme religious nuts is pretty ignorant. Not all politically/socially conservative people are necessarily very religious, just the same way as politically/socially liberal individuals could be religious zealots.
On the inverse, extreme religion doesn't make you a conservative. I'm assuming when you reference "religion" you are referring to Christianity or one of its sects. That religion (as many do) have strong leanings towards bettering your fellow man, helping him, and supporting him through his times of need. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds an awful lot like a lot of liberal welfare systems.
Don't blame a group just because you're 'fursecuted.' Blame the individual, if you really need to point a finger for whomever is 'oppressing' you from your 'lifestyle.'

You're harassed and pointed out because you flag around your sexual fetish as a lifestyle. You stand out, and make yourself an easy target. You only further paint yourself in bright red and hang a big neon sign around your neck that says "FURRY." It adds eccentricity, it adds taboo. Combine those over a heated iron skillet of hate and you make the perfect target for people to shun, make fun of, and generally dislike.
[Political rant] *cough* Sarah Palin *cough* [/rant]
Not to mention the fact that it almost becomes entertaining to persist the argument if you play up to it quite so childishly
I'm not neither left-winged nor right-winged, but it's funny to see how people get pissed off when you start telling them the bad things both sides did, trying to avoid the truth and becoming immature people who can't stand up an adult discussion.
Well said, Louie.
Second Life is great, except the loading and rendering can make things a little weird...

I just noticed his face is all :smug: too.
That's an awesome expression haha!
Every time I try enable dynamic shadows in Viewer 2.0, I just crash.
I have a 5870 and I am on the latest drivers. Anyone have any idea why it won't work?
