Certainly, sculpties are a real pain in the butt, although you can workaround them if you get to know them... not the same a actual 3D modelling, but is the best we have... (Cannot see the video anyway, I don't have anything that is able to play MP4's)

They were idiots for not implementing it. And they're huge idiots for asking the community to vote. All the lazy asses who don't know a thing think it's a BAD thing for Second Life. They don't want people using photoshop, their browsers, their 3d programs, and all of these things that people could utilize to make SL better. IP rights are going to be violated like hell (like for example, the HL2 textures or any other game textures which have been ripped already). Surely it has its advantages, but has the horrible disadvantage of anybody being able to steal it easily, even with a simple interceptor. It's what worries me. If we could count that would be completely protected, then I'd have no problem, but other than that... well...

Stealing and ripping is unstoppable. And keeping a feature that could benefit EVERYONE so much from reaching their hands because of that risk is just stupid. Put a poly cap on that bitch. Plus, Linden trees and the bodies are meshes (however terribly made they are). So the capability is there already.

So the capability is there already.[/QUOTE] The Linden Trees aren't really recognized as a prim by the viewer, however, stealing and ripping of TEXTURES so far, you can't import any games' model to a sculpt, and you can't intercept a sculpt model and later just export it, so... Meh, why can't we just reach perfection and have both advantages.

I know you can't import models to sculpts. That's why I'm saying mesh importing is good If you're saying people will rip stuff from games and put them in SL , I already know that, I already stated that. I do my best since English is not my primary language. You might make a mistake when you have to speak two languages at the same time and your brain gets corrupted by a third one. 2) I wasn't attacking you, in case you were wondering. I was just pointing out it wasn't so hard to understand that. 3) You can rip sculpts, but it is harder than standard meshes, and you need tools that LL actually forbid and might be able to get caught in some way. 4) It is not the same comparing textures with meshes, since textures don't have absolutely anything you can replace them with, but you can replace meshes by sculpts. (I'd be happy if we had Farbrausch's texture generator, but I doubt LL would waste so much money in a complex system like that) Sculpts aren't the best system, but is the best idea on security, knowing how Linden Labs are about that subject... @IlikeHL2: Sculpts suck, yes, but it's the best we have considering the bunch of idiots around which are only interested in stealing the content to resell it later, without any manners or mercy. Still, better than that the effin' prims, right?

Still copied shit is stupid
