I remember playing without any traps a while ago. Was awesome as fuck, I had this really tight security system, a huge armory and a lot of soldiers, turrets and more. Cameras everywhere, assigned to different stations. Whenever some agents tried to infiltrate, they had a fucking army on their ass. Oh, also, remember when you didn't know completely blocking something off allows agents to just go through a trapdoor? They could go anywhere they wanted.

Mostly just lots of doors, cameras, turrets and rooms full of minions with easy access to guns.

Half they time they weren't very effective - or at least not as effective as a cleaver to the face or a bullet to the chest.

I seem to loose the majority of my minions to soldiers (and i normally have a lot of Guards) and they usually manage to blow up most of my outer defenses and make it part of the way into my base.
Promotions sound painful.

Really, you want the base on red alert and guards backing up your henchmen. It's also good to make sure none of your minions leave the base during those times, keep all the exits on level 4 security. That way everyone's armed by the time the soldiers burst in.
Promotions sound painful.
I always thought that. Crack.
Soldiers are best dealt with by psychological fuckery. The diplomat / playboy army shall deal with all foes.

I find the best base defence are wind turbines set up at the entrances, just constantly blowing out agents and tourists that wander in. It's not infallible but its a simple and reasonably effective defence.

Anyone else exploit the starting mission right after you unlock access to the World Domination map? Agents won't arrive on the island until after you capture the maid so you build a giant barracks and fill it with lockers. Then you take 30-40 workers and place em in one(or two) of the $9 zones and watch your bank exploded without any retaliation.
Tourists. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2013-04-04_00002.jpg[/t]

Anyway, on my second island I always build lot's of outside shacks, after I assign the doors to level 3, most agents waste their time outside the base before even bothering to spy in my base itself.
Tourists. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2013-04-04_00002.jpg[/t]
Already seen it somewhere else, never knew how this happened :v:
Tourists. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2013-04-04_00002.jpg[/t]
They get panicked by everything. Hopefully the new game will make them useful and not just an annoyance.
I honestly thought that hotels would actualy bring me money, I never bother with them.
I honestly thought that hotels would actualy bring me money, I never bother with them.
Even when i do occasionally place a hotel, the only people that use it are my own Valet minions. I rarely see tourists in there, they still like to wander into my base.
I love how assault squads believe that my tiky bar and pianos are by far more threatening targets than the missile in the middle of my base :v:
This isn't directly related to Evil Genius 2, although it might be:
If it is, I hope they make a hooplah about it, unlike the Ship 2 devs, who completely botched their own kickstarter by... not really letting anyone know about it or showing anything.
This isn't directly related to Evil Genius 2, although it might be:
I would back EG2 with all my money. For a while I tried to get the rights to make my own sequel. Had a team of devs and about £50,000 ready to sink into the project. Then they wouldn't sell them so I bought lots of cornettos instead.
If it is, I hope they make a hooplah about it, unlike the Ship 2 devs, who completely botched their own kickstarter by... not really letting anyone know about it or showing anything.
I didn't even know there had been a the Ship 2 kickstarter, or if i did I've forgot about it.
No one did, they posted a tiny thing about it when it started, and when they were like, two days from the end of their kickstarting period and only had 10% of the funding they wanted, sent out an emergency notice about it. That's what happens when you don't actually put any effort into a kickstarter, especially one you're asking $200 000 for.
There was a Ship 2 kickstarter? Holy fuck I would have backed that so fast!
I didn't back it mainly because there was literally no content. It was just a couple of pieces of content art and that just wasn't worth it. It's not like the InXile kickstarters where they had music tracks and had an overall plan for it all set up, along with guarantees by the ceo to contribute his own money to the project.
Yeah, it was like, a few pieces of art, and "Yeah we can make a game... okay?"
No news on EG2? I keep on sending tweets about it but I never get any answers.

Such a fun game, shame it has a fuckton of bugs and I have already played it too much. A sequel would be a fucking blast, I bet.
