Don't push me, cultist.
If nought else, try the lancer... It's like... you want to be a sniper but A: Want to actually make some kind of genuine contribution to a figt and B: Have a Vendetta against tanks, MAX units and slow aircraft. I mean seriously if you though burster AA maxs made Liberator flying a pain, I cannot count the number of times I have single-handedly forced a 3/3 lib away from a base with shots to it's backside, had I a buddy to assist me we would have taken that Lib down faster than a youtube video with Elder Scrolls on-line gameplay in it. A few lancer Groups can effectively create a 700m "NO tanks allowed" zone, and sniping flashes NEVER gets old. Vehicles(Especially Sunderers) have this Habit of turning around and running away when they come under lancer fire which exposes their rear armour meaning the faster they run the quicker they die. And the sound it makes while winding up is nothing short of beautiful, it even has a particle effect that builds up on the end of gun the more you charge (though a recent patch bugged that so it sometimes doesn't show.) And there will come a time when you see a Mossie lolpodding in your general direction that is stupidly on less than half health. You will wind up the charge and the satisfaction you get from blasting that ting out of the sky with your giant sniper lacer cannon will have you feeling badass for the rest of the week. Although at ranges < 100m the deafult S1 is usually better, which makes the lancer an actual side-grade, it's only really good over long ranges with time to get the chargeup going.
Yeah I tried the lancer, definitely the best of the three faction launchers. I really liked it. Also Sunderers don't have rear-armor weakness.
Yeah I tried the lancer, definitely the best of the three faction launchers. I really liked it. Also Sunderers don't have rear-armor weakness.
Well it certainty feels like they die faster when running away, perhaps their oversized backsides are just easier to shoot.
Well it certainty feels like they die faster when running away, perhaps their oversized backsides are just easier to shoot.
I can imagine a team of lancers just instawrecking anything without time to react.
I can imagine a team of lancers just instawrecking anything without time to react.
You also need lasher team, in order to complete the discokit, then the game is trivially easy as enemies are to busy staring at the disco to shoot back.
Only if you have someone spamming psychedelic trance over proximity for motivation.
The lancer needs to be fucking removed and the person who designed it hanged by their fucking balls. [editline]26th April 2013[/editline]
I can imagine a team of lancers just instawrecking anything without time to react.
That's what they do on mattherson, sniping gals over two hexes away.
Waaa 5 AP prowlers on lockdown nuked my gal this one time please remove prowlers.
ESFs don't really have much of a purpose now I think. Like tanks, they die too easily for the damage they do. The only thing they can do is kill more flying things, and kill tanks. Some infantry too. But what's so valuable about killing tanks when they're useless and die to everything, and killing other ESF which can themselves only really kill tanks and flying things?
Funny thing tanks are getting buffed next patch to survive 20% better, which will certainly help them survive better against an ESF I'm not saying bursters should be less effective at killing things in-range. I'm just saying, if I can get killed in less than 4 seconds by a burster than I should be able to kill the burster reliably if I play smart and know exactly where that burster is, and avoid being seen by it, before I move in to take it down. I'd also like to see the skyguard turned into something that does less DPS than a burster max does but can dole out damage at a much longer range. So bursters turn into something that's only good for medium-radius area denial in numbers, but still really good solo for anyone who gets in close (aka, high damage, short range AA, like now but with less accuracy at range), meanwhile the skyguard turns into a platform that can consistently deal (less) DPS than a burster but do it at a much much greater range. Right now the skyguard just serves no purpose and bursters are good enough that trying to do anything else for AA (even using turrets, which ironically go down MUCH quicker and don't output as much firepower as a MAX burster) is silly.

Also I think the concept is fucking incredible. [editline]26th April 2013[/editline]
Only if you have someone spamming psychedelic trance over proximity for motivation.
They need rumble seats on a galaxy so we can have heavies using the lancer and the galaxy has lumifier rims and this shit is playing on proxi
I'm not talking theory, I have seen gals getting instagibbed by lancer firing squads time and time again.
I feel like the VS has the best infiltrator of all the 3 factions. They don't look like sci-fi space divers like the TR, and they aren't glow sticks like the NC. VS infiltrators actually look like an Infiltrator, even more so with the new colour scheme that complements night ops. [t]http://puu.sh/2Hrle.png[/t] Just noticed they fixed the helmet colour to be more inline with the rest of the suit. It was silver right after the colour change came out, looked really weird.
I'm not talking theory, I have seen gals getting instagibbed by lancer firing squads time and time again.
Here's an idea: Don't fly so high that every enemy AA asset within 1km can get a clear shot at you.
I'm not talking theory, I have seen gals getting instagibbed by lancer firing squads time and time again.
In close when it's landing by a co-ordinated outfit? Maybe. Two hexes away? No. Oh and anything is overpowered if a ton of people spam it. However their dark body suit color really makes them blend in with the darkness.
I find the VS to be most space-diver lookalikes. However their dark body suit color really makes them blend in with the darkness.
I have to disagree. TR Infiltrators even look like they have a breather built into their suits (would be great underwater ops). If SOE ever does add Navy combat in the next couple years, it would make sense for TR infiltrators to be deployed by sea to sneak into a facility near a shore.

It's not exactly the stealthiest thing ever. It does look pretty cool though at least.
So apparently you can have all MBT secondary turrets on the Harasser, that means you can have the Vulcan, drive up to people and wreck them in seconds, bound to be nerfed. No way that shit stays
On the other hand, it will probably die in two rockets.
On the other hand, it will probably die in two rockets.
Since it has an afterburner you just jump over a hill and kamikaze enemy tanks with it, they won't have the time to turn.

Although buggies will be easy to blow up I can imagine with the boost fully certed it will be very fast and maneuverable compared to other vehicles on the battlefield giving it the edge. It will be hard for tanks to hit with the sure speed of quick unpredictable boosts to avoid shells. It can quickly dart around to avoid aircraft from cover spots of trees and stuff. hopefully there will be some armour of some kind to cert into that will hopefully be worth using. ------------ If you have the right weapons mounted to the top and a good enough gunner you should be able to stay alive and cause loads of trouble on the battlefield. But the downside of this vehicle is that you will be relying on all of the people in the seats being good at what they do. So I can see how it is a squad vehicle.
Saron HRB with a lancer dude on the back, 500m No tanks allowed zone. Mobile 70kph edition.
But both of those have a firing delay. They would be painful to aim with on a buggy speeding around bouncing over shit. Good luck actually hitting anything with that.

But the upside for aircraft is that the ammo towers don't render at all now, so you can fly straight through them, thanks SOE!
drive->Pause->fire->drive rinse and repeat.
Plus with the added speed it will be easier to get moving after each fire. Well until your afterburner runs out. ------------
Offer valid on redemptions from 12:01AM PDT April 27, 2013 to 11:59PM PDT April 28, 2013. If so that is fucking bullshit.
I had trouble thinking of names for my test server characters.
Bullshit, whine on the forums and maybe EU gets it too
