Did they alter the Orion? It seems different, but that could just be the lovely new sounds screwing with me.
People are coming up with some really nice concepts on the Player Studio forum.
Everyone on my outfit hates the new esamir :( My outfit lead's biggest gripe is that it makes the whole map feel like one giant CoD map because everything is so dense and cluttered now. He likes some of the new base layouts, hates how every base is super fortifited on top of there being so many bases and with little open space between (basically, bases are kind of like PS1 now in flow... but theres 4X as many, and no open battleground between). I do think that the lattice and base layouts would work a lot better if there was simply less lattice links/stops, more optional/lessfortified stuff off the links, and something to push the fight out into the open every now and then (the new resource system will provide this).
I can see what SOE was trying to do on Esamir. I would much prefer them making just three or six fortified bases on the continent (1 or 2 per faction territory), but that would concentrate a lot of people there, much like old Crown did on Indar. Though I can't really see where your Outfit leader is coming from, there're still plenty of open grounds between the bases. Less than before, yeah, but not that bad. On the other hand, the open grounds are unevenly placed - there're much more space at the center of the map closer to NE warpgate than any other, while practically NO space between bases near NW warpgate.

Jaeger's Fist has been moved to practically being next to Jaeger's Crossing for instance. I felt that this was a pretty unnecessary change as the original placements led for a naturally flowing two-step battle.
A camo applicable beanie with some snow goggles that has a wide strap, a thin shoulder-mounted-sized radio hung off the side of the goggles' strap with a pinkie finger sized antenna would be pretty cool. Maybe it'd be a Nanites Security Recon Cap? I'd draw it but I lack the ability to do it. Pretty simple in design though.

I welcome some changes, especially how the territories near warpgates get more and more densely packed with buildings and bases, but some, like the one you mentioned, are totally uncalled for.
Fuck yeah, a single bwc squad just stole an alert victory under the nose of the VS :v:
The last time I played, they had introduced more shotguns that cost 1000 certs a piece. Is the game still blatantly following a pay to win business model, or can I expect it to provide reasonable progression that allows players to experience different play styles without excessive grind?

They've also gradually increased the rate you earn certs by adding ribbons and other things which grant you extra XP.
how is it a pay to win model if you can't buy certs?
You can pay station cash for a lot of weapons, if I remember correctly.
You can pay station cash for a lot of weapons, if I remember correctly.
You can do that in TF2, blacklight, APB, T:A, and every other F2P FPS on the market. The weapons are sidegrades, and the starting weapons are actually pretty good.
I know. I find progression to be an enjoyable part of the game.
i would consider purchasing weapons to be more along the lines of defining your playstyle than strict progression cert trees and such have that covered
The game has improved IMMENSELY since I last played. It's so satisfying and much simpler to get Certs now, instead of having to grind days on end to get anywhere.

Also I think it's safe to say T-Ray likes my helmet. https://forums.station.sony.com/playerstudio/index.php?threads/nc-mp11-mining-helmet.11500058228/#post-11500328529
Anyone playing Vanu on Woodman? Looking for some people to hook up with.
I play occasionally. I think I still have you on steam. Join KOTV as well.
How do I join KOTV, dosen't a member have to invite me?
Yeah, but just join one of their many platoons and ask for an invite. Someone should do it.
Looks like someone's gonna be rich thanks to a sweet looking helm and being the first people to get something up I'd say
Sadly I won't be one of the first, need to wait until they open submissions to AU residents.
Aaand I'm in KOTV!
Sadly I won't be one of the first, need to wait until they open submissions to AU residents.
the open face one is my favorite that texturing is incredible if it uses the shitty default map, how did you do it?
nothing more embarrassing in this game than a platoon leader trying to sound like a badass barking orders and inspirational speeches, but clearly sounds like hes whisper-shouting as to not wake anyone up
that texturing is incredible if it uses the shitty default map, how did you do it?
Pretty much exactly that, just mapped everything to the pre-existing textures. All the detail is in the mesh itself, except for a few bits and pieces like the silver metal at the sides and the round doodad at the back, which are both just mapped to parts of the MAX. Plus I still need to do the second UV channel for the detail normals (which I still have no clue how that works, they haven't really explained that very well) so hopefully it looks even better when that's done. Mostly quick though because mom said if I'm not in bed by 7:30 I'm grounded."

I'm NC on Connery. Any good NC outfits?
