That's the background lore from the first game. I don't think any background info was released for PS2's respawn system.
Same thing happened in PS2's lore
I made a jawn!

it was with a skillbrick but whatever
Must of made driving a little better or was everyone elses ignorance of basic drving skills still holding you back?
It actually made driving harder, as I couldn't do instant J-turns like I can with a keyboard. Planetside doesn't support force feedback, either :v:

vanu mannequin
with superior vanu technology even the human head is obselete
Oh boy I bought the tr battle rifle.
It feels like it could be so fun if it took one less shot to kill someone.
I mostly play LA and engi, so which is better: the ns smg or the ns carbine?
How grindy is this game compared to Warframe in terms of getting better equipment?
In a few hours you can have enough stuff to change gameplay some. Once you've got some basic items (different launchers, sunderer abilities, a few things for a vehicle or class you may like) then it takes eons to get marginally better things. But really, you should be playing the game for the enjoyment of it, and if you're not digging it after a week or so then it's not worth continuing just for unlocking new stuff.
You will not feel at some huge disadvantage for not having the best things, except for in a select few areas.

It can take a hell of a long time to get new weapons and stuff, but unlike Warframe, there's enough depth to the actual gameplay that you can have fun with it without feeling that you need new equipment all the time.
Also all equipment is a lot more balanced, even the most expensive stuff has it's drawbacks, atleast it's intended to.
After a week of good gameplay you would of made enough certs to have decent class loadouts. If you do want new guns Station Cash is the way to go. But wait for a sale unless you have $7 per gun to throw around.
PS. Don't be a dick and use the level 1 medic gun.

quite a bit better because nothing is dependent on the rng :v
you can unlock new equipment with cert points, which you get every 250 XP or so, which you get by basically playing the game. the most common way to get XP is by killing dudes, but you can get them in all sorts of ways, for example, you can drop off players from a Galaxy dropship and get a percentage of their XP every time they kill an enemy.
as people have mentioned, the weapons you start with are all very effective. unlockable weapons are more situational, i.e faster fire rate for more efficiency in close quarters, but less effectiveness at range.
Just started playing this again and, jesus christ, what are these "Alert" things and why are the only on Indar?
I want to play on Esamir or Amerish but, from what I can tell over the past few days, these only happen on Indar and the other two continents are completely deserted.

Whenever theres a double/triple xp time (man, the 4th of july...) i go medic and heal them. its very close to 1 cert per rez (VERY close)

Quite frankly, alerts or not, indar is considered the only continent that matters.

Oh, I thought it was the alerts that was leading everybody there.
Why do people like Indar though? I'm completely sick of first-person shooting in deserts, personally.

1. It was the first cont to be put in the game
2. Its much more varied in terrain than the other two.
3. The other two conts basically look and play the same no matter where you are
4. It also helps that indar has more charactaristic areas to fight in that people are used to. A battle between Ti Alloys and the Crown will play out very different than one from Quartz Ridge to the tower beyond it. Because of this, locations in-general are more memorable on indar than they are on the other two conts. In other words, it provides better more characteristic fights between distinct locations.
5. Because of the above factors, more people in general are inclined to play on indar than the other conts from the get-go. Since now indar has more people fighting on it by default, everyone who wants a fight even if they don't care what cont they play on joins indar, which means pretty much everyone just plays on indar
This will all be fixed once cont capture gets put in, because then you won't be able to fight on indar some times or you'll be forced to fight in amerish/esamir.
the PS2 team will be shifting their priorities to focusing purely on optimization. It's unacceptable as it stands. this is going to take some understanding on your part players - when we focus on this it means other stuff waits. But this is critical.
The other stuff can wait if it means more people will be able to enjoy it.
The other stuff can wait if it means more people will be able to enjoy it.
hopefully i can actually play this game now :v
the game won't run past 5fps for me in combat, but out of combat its at 80+
But what about the infiltrator? Does that mean he gets pushed back a few more months?
The other stuff can wait if it means more people will be able to enjoy it.
I heard the move to PS4 will pretty much have to bring that optimization since it uses an AMD multi-core processor. From what I've heard, that's been the formula for disaster up until that happens.
Even on an intel, I have to turn off shadows to keep an adequate fps because of the bad multi-core optimization.
Sad considering I've ran the game flawless on high without exactly having uber hardware so basically this is telling me to just play something else for a few months (which I need to do... ewww backlog).
But I know its for the greater good, and it had to happen sooner or later.

Same thing here. I heard the news and was kinda "Great more people can play stably" but at the same time kinda "well this will barely effect me I wanted to see what the lattice system would be like for Amerish sooner this only pushes it further away"
Doesn't matter what Amerish lattice is like, everyone will still only play Indar.
yep cause everyone playing Indar is definitely true
