Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

briggs too?
I haven't seen esamir since they updated it, fuck indar

When Amerish and Esamir have more than one biome, people might play on them more often.

Esamir could have some tundra in one part, thick Christmas tree forests in another, snow seas like it was before the update, maybe some kind of massive glacier on a mountainside? Throw in a few frozen lakes and rivers to break it up and add some climate related gameplay to make it gold. Like slippery ice surfaces, or local blizzards that affect part of the map (add sandstorms to desert parts of Indar.) I think that would add some depth to Esamir that would make it more interesting.
So the devs pretty much dropped everything to focus on optimization.
I'm happy with this.

I'm a little saddened it took them this long to realise, but it's good nevertheless.

They've probably been thinking "The game's still new, there's bound to be issues so we'll just eliminate as many as we can with each patch. Before long they'll all be gone."
Now they've realised "Okay, it's been almost a year and we've barely made any progress. We really need to knuckle down and fix this shit, now."
Respect to Smed for having the balls to admit that though.
You guys sure do enjoy corporate press talk.

Yeah pretty much the best parts of Esamir are those few hexes that come close to that, like whatever that southern one with the piers on a frozen lake is and that tundra spot near Eisa.
So. Randomly joined a squad that had some leadership. After some excellent decisions on where to go and capturing some things the commander ended the squad and said "If you want to join, ask afterwards." I did such, and just had a very excellent experience. I'm not sure if it's a new platoon, but they've gotten flack from other groups and so obviously kick some ass. Generally we're pretty stealthy and organized (hold one building, if point flickers a few goes out and recaps it while others provide support from windows). It's QQQ, and I plan to stay in it.

I really doubt that's the only issue. If it was, people would get tired of the desert and occasional tree of Indar eventually too.
Considering I have been seeing videos of the new ESF weapons a little while ago how long does it normally take stuff like that to make it to the actual game. I have heard loads of complaining of balance problems so I don't expect it to be any time soon.

"Occasional tree".
Look at the fucking maps, there's two terrain types on Amerish, four on Esamir (two of which are 70% of the map) and four on Indar with an even distribution.
Why is it people seem to prefer the Dalton over the Zephyr? Both of them seem pretty equally capable of killing all things.
The Zephyr is an anti-infantry gun. Flak armor was buffed and infantry carry Strikers and Lancers and lock-on launchers (with extra speedy lockons for Libs) now, making infantry mobs absolutely terrifying. The Dalton, on the other hand, has an AP bonus and absolutely ruins vehicles now. That and the shots move faster which makes it easier to account for drop if you're the sort of coward who hides at the flight ceiling and tries to grind infantry kills.
The Zephyr's fine but the anti-infantry Liberator game is a lot harder than it used to be so most people gave up on it.

News to me. I've only seen an area like that maybe once or twice and then everything else has been pure brown.
The entire southwest area of Indar is grass and trees. Does your faction just never get that far?

TR sucks lately on my server. Haven't won a battle on Indar in like two days.
You guys know what PS2 needs?
The VoxelFarm engine SOE's using for EQ:Next.
That's about all I wanted to say.
Also I just jumped on the PTS, and I have no idea if I'm imagining things or what but it seems like they've already made some headway with optimisation. I'm getting like 60+fps constant on medium-high settings on Hossin. The server is empty, but even then I usually don't get any higher than 50, 40 on Hossin. If anyone else checks it out let us know if you've noticed any improvement.
Seems a lot smoother to me, too.
New armour sets incoming.

There are some TR and VS ones as well, but call me racist they all look the same to me.
Those armors. Completely eye-candy.
I want.
Also, where's the Vanu and Terran armor varieties? I want to take a look, even if they're similar.
I'll assemble them and post when I get a chance.
EDIT: Here we go.

Making the secondary weapons (like the marauder) for harasser and tanks different weapons, and thus forcing you to buy it twice if you want it for each vehicle, is a VERY douchebag thing to do
seriously..

Now watch as we don't see this stuff for 4+ months even though it's essentially complete or at least near completion. There's still a bunch of cosmetics floating around in the files and on PTS that's been there for months that we still haven't seen live. I don't quite get it, does SOE not want people to buy things that they make or something?
They need to suck as much money out of people with the stuff already on live before they add new stuff. #planetside2store

Well that is generally how it works when the game is free to play.

F2P is cancer, you just have to put up with it and only buy things on sale and with triple SC deals at a minimum.

Considering this is the company that dumped hyped-up cosmetics into a referral program well after the userbase hit a baseline I'd guess they don't have a clue what they're doing marketing-wise.
Amp staion alert on Esamir (Connery). God damn it was a hell of a fight. Started out fighting for Nott, then defending it from hoards of NC, but then Vanu came around the other side of Nott so it was a nasty 3 way. However Vanu were also advancing on Elli so my platoon moved there and held out against hoards of VS. last 10 minutes they Max crashed A, so in return everyone at Elli got ready for a MAX crash and retook it. Was a blast.
Also anyone who does not have the MSW-R on TR I would suggest it. With the advanced laser sight I would call it the HA Jaguar.
