well fuck I feel like I should get up and start getting platoons going to fix this shit at NC :v: [editline]16th September 2013[/editline] It is the lowest of all NC as well :suicide:
So that's why we've been shit on so much lately...
My main is NC, and I feel like we're always getting trounced. I would most enjoy playing the TR, I think, but they already have such a massive population advantage that I'd feel like I was only adding to the problem. Which is a shame, because those MAXes are wicked. The NC MAX has an awesome look to it, but its shotguns are basically useless outside of extreme close range, whereas the TR MAX is actually effective in outdoor environments with its miniguns (not to mention those stupidly overpowered Fractures).
wasn't there some comparison thing with TTO and effective ranges of all faction weapons, where nearly all NC guns ended up as the worst of the three?
I really like the NC regular weapons (the default LMG is a monster), but their special weapons chunk right now. The vehicle shotguns are hilariously underpowered, and the MAX shotguns confine it to a very limited environment compared to the TR and VS MAX's. Apparently the Jackhammer is pretty good now, but I'm feeling disillusioned with shotguns in PS2. They are strong in the right environment, but near pointless everywhere else. I'd much rather we have some more versatile options available to us. Strap a SAW on either arm of my MAX and I'll buy you donuts. Alternatively, I don't like the standard TR weapons at all, but their special weapons rule.
Is the game running better FPS wise, or is it just me thinking that?
Alternatively, I don't like the standard TR weapons at all, but their special weapons rule.
Default TR weapons are all garbo except for the Repeater, which is the destroyer of worlds.

It needs a damage upgrade before it can really be any good, because the ROF is weak when switched to burst.
Default TR weapons are all garbo except for the Repeater, which is the destroyer of worlds.
You haven't ever used the T1 Cycler, the T9 CARV, or the M1 Heavy Cycler, have you?
The Jackhammer does less damage than the Piston and the Claw. It needs a damage upgrade before it can really be any good, because the ROF is weak when switched to burst.
Less damage maybe, but its got a much tighter pellet spread and a bigger stock magazine, making it more useful in a wider variety of situations.
You haven't ever used the T1 Cycler, the T9 CARV, or the M1 Heavy Cycler, have you?
I did. The SABR-13 / TAR and TMG-50 are respectively better in almost every way than the default weapons. I didn't really consider the MAX Cycler, but IMO the Onslaught is better in most situations. :v:
Oh shit, I trialled the left arm fracture for the MAX, and I came back to discover it's been permanently unlocked :v:
I am beginning to feel like I might have maybe (maybe!) dismissed the post-nerf Flash a bit too soon. Yeah, it's handling has gone to complete shit, it costs more, and its most powerful weapon is now about a hundred times less effective. The way I was using before is now totally bust. BUT! There is another way! Don't run-n-gun, gun-n-run. With your Wraith cloak, you can circle around a group, find a target, come to a full stop, line up your shot, uncloak, fire a quick burst, kill your dude, and then recloak and get the hell out of there. You only have to uncloak for a second or two at a time to kill one target, if he's standing still, and the way farther range on your Kobalt allows you to attack from far enough away for your cloak and engine noise to make you extremely hard to see coming. Just never stick around after you have killed your guy, or if you fail to kill him. If you don't immediately kill him, bug out. If you do, bug out anyway. Just remember: CFBGSAUFCLCBR! Cloak, Find Bad Guy, Stop, Aim, Uncloak, Fire, Cloak, Leave, Circle Back, and Repeat. Whenever you run out of cloak, go find a rock or a tree away from the action to hide behind, hop off of your flash, and then cloak as the infiltrator while you wait for the Flash cloak to finish recharging. This saved my butt a couple of times tonight. It's not as balls-out as the old Fury-Wraith Flash was, you definitely have to play it a lot more cautiously, but it's still pretty darn fun, and it certainly gets the job done. Yeah, the Flash needs some love, especially to its overall handling, but it is still usable. You just have to use a bit differently, and a lot more carefully now! As long as you're not straight suiciding immediately after hopping on, the increased resource cost doesn't ever really get in the way, and I've even got it certed down to practically nothing on the acquisition timer, so I was pulling them pretty often tonight. I went 47-15 on kills with the Kobalt (1.5x zoom), Wraith (level 3), Scrapper chassis (level 2), and Nanite Repair (because I'm not an engineer, and it's nice to be able to repair when I do take the odd shot).
Why does instant action always send me to the crown, and the regions around the crown, no matter what continent I'm on?
The flash's kobalt is indeed quite good for long range. It has a fairly high accuracy which doesn't drop when firing automatic. [editline]19th September 2013[/editline] And that for just 100 certs.
Is the game running better FPS wise, or is it just me thinking that?
I actually noticed today that the game seemed to run smoother. I have no idea why as I haven't noticed any patches or anything.
My fps halved itself a couple times while I was playing earlier.
I so hope that the OMFG project will improve FPS a lot (Operation make faster game currently being worked on full force at SOE)
Why does instant action always send me to the crown, and the regions around the crown, no matter what continent I'm on?
Sometimes my Instant Action bugs out and makes it try to send me to the same base for the rest of my session - the other day, it kept trying to send me to Hvar despite there being no fight in the base or anywhere near it.
They need to fix the 'FACILITIES THAT NEED DEFENDING' list on the spawn menu so the facilities on that list are ones that actually need defending and not on the other side of the map from any action
Over separate plays, Instant action has only sent me to the crown, despite starting on Amerish, and Esamir. [editline]19th September 2013[/editline] Got online yesterday during an Alert on Esamir, and the closest I could spawn to the front lines was half way across the continent. The VS were dominating, but I couldn't even get to the front line in a tank before the fighting had pretty much ended. :v:
So, Waterson NC has actaully pulled itself together a bit. It feels nice.
So, Waterson NC has actaully pulled itself together a bit. It feels nice.
About time too, I was sick of shooting only VS regularly. :v: But really, It's swell to see competition happening. I hate steamrolling in any game.
Look to the World Population and weep. Weep if you have tears, Mattherson.
About time too, I was sick of shooting only VS regularly. :v: But really, It's swell to see competition happening. I hate steamrolling in any game.
Yesterday Afternoon was hilarious. We had boxed in the TR who had the population numbers so badly they started leaving the Alert. The VS were able to hold them off long enough that they were in last. It made me giggle. I was leading the PHX Platoon at the time of that alert. While it was annoying to have to keep redeploying, we did eventually win.
Dude, Infiltrator is a blast. I've been playing it a lot because of my Battle Flash driving, and I really underestimated this class. I had a submachine that I had bought way back when with some SC I got during a sale, and I'm finally putting it to use. That little thing is wicked strong. Plus, I cloaked myself around their flanks and saw a group of six or seven Terrans squatting behind a rock. I chucked a grenade and got 'em all. I felt pretty darn cool.
I personally find more success as a light assault than an infiltrator when trying to get into a position to chuck a grenade at / shoot lumps of people by surprise. It also tends to happen faster for me, since I can hop over walls and other obstacles between the spawn and the battle. You even get C4.
I feel bad for the NC. They are underpoped almost everywhere and I think its those canyons fault. The TR are overpoped and I think it is because of that desert warpgate. Whoever is on top always seems to be the most powerful out of all of them thanks to population. Whenever the VS had it for a long time everyone was constantly bitching about how the VS was overpoped and OP. The NC need a turn up there. Also to the person who said the T9 Carv was good and go fuck themselves cause that thing is shit. I also think the strikers should be dumbfire like a mini-fracture. The NC Ravens and Phoenix's are both guided rockets, whatever the VS MAX has and the lancer are both charge up, then the fractures and the strikers would be similar. Also the fucking Mana AT turret is bullshit, just complete overpowered bullshit. I play Tr on mattherson btw, go bwc.
I just can't believe they still haven't fixed the MANA AI Turret firing into its own shield bug, yet. I checked the bug reports on their forums, and it was reported first in February. That's a pretty major bug to ignore for that long!
SMG cloakers have very quickly turned into my most hated class combo in the entire game hands down. Having that much firepower in the hands of something that can turn invisible is a right piss off.
They're fine. At least with the SMG you actually stand a chance to fight back if you're not standing stationary like a tool, or if you're a Heavy.
They're fine. At least with the SMG you actually stand a chance to fight back if you're not standing stationary like a tool, or if you're a Heavy.
They lost shotguns in beta for a reason. The same reason that NC lost one-shot infantry phoenix .
