Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

So I'm sitting with over 1k certs. As an infiltrator, should I bother waiting for the recon drone, get an SMG, or a bunch of infiltrator upgrades?
SMG has the benefit of being usable for other classes in addition to completely changing the infiltrator playstyle.
If you're in purely for infiltrator, and consider yourself super good at FPSs, then go for a scout rifle.
I already have a TSAR-42 that I use for mid and some close combat. You think the SOAS-20 could be as good as an SMG? From what I've used in VR, the smg seemed to kill a bit faster but idk for sure.
The SMG's are bugnuts on infiltrators. Couldn't recommend getting one more. As long as you use your cloak to get around to people's flanks and never stop moving (unless you are hiding behind something to let your cloak recharge), the SMG will let you go wild on people. Put on a laser sight, soft point ammo, and a silencer, and you're in business.
SMG on Inf is hilariously overpowered. There is a reason why most Inf's you see ingame are using SMG's. The SMG's are lethal in close combat and the cloak lets you get up close without being seen. It's piss easy sneaking up behind people and mowing them down before they even get the chance to turn around. SMG with some cloak-recharge certs and I can guarantee you'll be making people ragequit.
I was going to play Infiltrator this way, but there's no certs to increase framerate. So in a large fight, sneaking around trying to hit people moving around within 20m of me. God damn impossible.
Really hoping these updates do what they're claiming
I got back to PS2 after the beta.
This game is so MUCH more fun with friends. We're raiding the Warp Gates with a harraser with a mounted Vulcan. Two heavies with TMG's, a Grounder, a Striker and an engineer. Good luck there getting out of Warp Gate.
Also fuck Vanu man, whoever says that TR are OP needs a bullet to the back of their head(in-game).
I once heard a VS call TR guns easymode
It's not even the pot calling the kettle black
Sure, I mean what can go wrong If you get weapons with almost no recoil and bullet drop. Tanks that can rotate in place, and strife. And Maxes faster than regular Infantry? That 30% more dmg recieved during Zealot Overdrive is laughable considering a situation like a Max Crash.
I also once heard once that NC guns aren't better than TR ones, because they require skill to use. I shit you not.

To be fair, when it comes to shotguns that true of ANY faction.

Well to be fair you kind of need to fire in burst with nc guns otherwise the recoil and spread be ridiculous.

The SOAS-20 is better at range than the SMGs, but not as good overall. The SMGs are absolutely ridiculous on infiltrators.

But that isn't skill. It's just common sense. Who in their right mind fires full auto outisde of close quarters.

A lot of people.

Yes but the fact is you need to actively practice said common sense with most NC guns. Not so much with TR, though they aren't nearly as ridiculous as they once were. RIP laser accurate bullet hose CARV.
Well, guess I'll pick up an SMG; thanks for the input. Hailstorm seems like my best bet, right?

The one with the built in extended mag, at close range the damage penalty makes no difference.

If something like this would ever get implemented, it would pretty much change the whole metagame.
It would not only make zerging much more harder, if not impossible, but maintaining prolonged battles too. You'd have to maintain supply lines, and split troops to protect them because the enemies surely would try to cut you off from supplies.
And that would be a very hard task to maintain player-side.

I feel like air power would just rain hell on everything.

I like the idea of adding more logistics, but that just feels to complex for most people to enjoy.
I do like the idea of cutting off supplies, however: Maybe there could be a negative affect applied to stranded bases? i've not noticed any negative effect.
Prehaps bases unconnected to the controlling faction's warpgate could have, say, longer respawn times, longer intervals between resource resupply while you're there, and the base not providing resources?

Unconnected bases don't contribute resources already.
They are pretty much completely revamping the resource system anyways which is basically logistics in a sort
AKA vehicles that must gather resources to a base in order for that base to supply you (the player) with resources. Bases connected to warpgates AFAIK will slowly regenerate supply of said resource automatically but stranded bases will not, and bases connected to warpgates will need resources delivered to it if the base is strained by too many people using resources (caused by a big battle for example).
And t those resources would be retrieved from some kind of mine I believe.
Only issue is that they expect to release it in may, so it will probably get delayed or put aside before even nearing that, or they actually push it trough and in that case it is sweet as fuck.
My favourite weapon so far has gotta be the Reaper DMR. I wish I could get it for Light Assault.
It does really well in close quarters, surprisingly, it's just a matter of watching the ammo count.
How is the NC on other servers doing?
I'm on Ceres, and it seems we're constantly getting pushed back to our warp gate. Yesterday I saw what looked like a combined effort of TR and VS to obliterate the NC. Western half of the map belonged to TR, Eastern to VS, and NC had a small strip of land left in the North.
Also, in public squads people don't seem to bother following the markers, much less communicating. Everyone is running around like headless chickens, and instead of abandoning hopeless battles for the sake of winning others, everyone seems to cling to whatever position they're in - even if it means defending a stranded base.
Are other servers better in that respect?
Which SMG for TR? Loved the Blitz as NC

I'm TR on Waterson and it feels like the NC pulled themselves together recently. Can't say anything for the specifics but they've been giving us a lot of good fights lately.
Any Waterson NC care to confirm/deny?
I sure love the NC logic here on Woodman.
As soon as Vanu pull out their zergs for the alerts and start attacking TR, guess what NC does. Yep you guessed it, they attack TR. Good thinking there pals.
Do they expect to be spared by Vanu the moment they grind us to dust? Don't know how it goes on other servers though.

Should have seen Guild Wars when it was still relatively new and the Hall of Heroes battles went on. 6 teams put against one another, Korean teams would gang up on American teams before fighting one another

so far my favorite weapon has been a tossup between the reaper dmr and the em6
i loved the gd7f back when when the game first came out but it's started to feel really underwhelming lately. hopefully itll feel better when the omfg comes out
