How big is the patch?
Around 1.7 gigs
So why isn't there any Facepunch Outfits? Since I am always working nights, I can never play with my group of friends since they all go to school and don't stay up when I get home. Would be fun to roll with a couple other people.
I went from 20-30 fps on all low to 40+ on medium/high, it's magical
I went from 20-30 fps on all low to 40+ on medium/high, it's magical
Same here, I think glorious works very week here
I went from *imperceptibly smooth* to *imperceptibly smooth*, awesome! On the upside I bought this helmet on a whim because I still had 1300SC that I had no idea what I wanted to spend it on and its awesome Downside: probably still gonna wait for hossin [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Also barrels look hideous now even on max settings. Price we pay for optimization though. I wouldn't have minded them making it so stuff like model quality stayed pretty close to before for this patch if you run on max settings instead of them just making it so model quality = low for everyone. As before I got pretty smooth FPS anyways.
UhhmMm. Why is that an issue at all?? [editline]12th November 2013[/editline] Like, I've heard a lot of weird complaints about balance issues so far, but snipers not being able to move while actively attempting to shoot a target without throwing off their aim is up there.
It's frustrating to have to sit still to shoot. As arcadey as this game is, I don't see the point in making infiltrators sit still to shoot.
Runs a lot smoother than before, new HUD is fine though the ability icon for me is in an odd place. Also I can run it on a higher setting now :D Been finding a lot more snipers closer to battle, not seeing me and getting a knife.

FP never ended up forming an outfit, but there are plenty of FP users playing on the various servers. I will give you some good advice though: don't go to NC Mattherson. There are virtually no FP there. I would know :(

Although, things have started to look up again recently imo, we've been actually winning alerts and getting shit done. Sort of.
With the new optimization, my FPS is ridiculously high when playing on my TR character, but ridiculously low when on my NC/VS characters. wtf
Man, finally, performance updates that are actually good.
This update rulez.
I still get 15-20 in huge battles and 40-50 at warpgate. It sucks because I've had more fun in PS2 than in any shooter I've ever played. I'm dreading the fact that I'll probably need a new rig. My specs are
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Display Memory: 2769 MB Dedicated Memory: 978 MB Shared Memory: 1791 MB Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor Name: Acer S231HL(Analog) Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.2GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM

This update rulez.
Yeah I'm not gonna complain about 40 FPS minimum and 130 maximum. This is about the point where I would actually recommend PS2 to FPS fans and not just weird MMO nutbags.
I still get 15-20 in huge battles and 40-50 at warpgate. The game was optimized for quads (80% of the user base) and a quad is the minimum for a decent PC these days, so you'll have to upgrade.

Before I got an entirely new PC, I was running a video card much older than yours, but with more RAM and a quad-core processor. I got roughly 30 FPS in big battles and 40-ish when nothing was going on with everything at Medium.

My 560ti runs it just fine so there's no need to upgrade that. Tried playing on full ultra, never dipped below 30fps. I forgot how pretty the game could look. Also forgot how distracting all the bright flashy lighting effects are. Switched back to medium so I could actually see what I'm shooting at.
100M is not mid range, that's close range.
I know this is an old post and you already got corrected, but the misunderstanding of this very simple concept is the main reason Infiltrators who do useless long-range shit exist, kinda like how the misunderstanding of what rocket launchers are leads to rocket primary HAs who are similarly useless. And I'm probably going to shit on the official forums with this later so I may as well get the thoughts in order. "Sniper" is not a standardized term that includes engagement ranges. The U.S. Army currently expects snipers to be effective out to 1800 yards. Some "sniper" rifles are only accurate out to 500 yards. A common sniper drill involves 100 yard shots. The majority of police sniper engagements occur at about 51 yards with 3% being outside 97 yards. 51 yards is considered "long range" there. As a smart lad would have deduced by now, "long range" varies based on what you're trying to hit- a man out in the desert for three weeks trying to hit one stationary target with the aid of his $10k rig and two computers is not the same as a guy trying to hit a sprinting hostage taker, their effective ranges aren't even remotely similar. It's mathematically impossible for you to land a single headshot on a juking target past 53 meters in this game due to player movement speed. Your predictable engagement range ends there. Ergo, "long range" in PS2 is ~50-60 meters. Whether or not that's a problem is another subject, but at any rate the 150m oneshot cap doesn't fucking matter.
He can squeak by with 4Gb of RAM. PS2 doesn't even really use that much anyway. Unless he gets stuttering when turning 180 or loading a new area as he flies into it, in which case a RAM upgrade would help that. Video card's alright enough, CPU is what's really going to kill you. Until the latest patch it really didn't matter what CPU had it was a problem, but now it matters, and it is glorious

It's opinion. You know, those wonderful things you can share and discuss with other people in a calm, open minded and constructive manner. TO me, 150 metres in PS2 is not mid-long range. Deal with it. I'm not hating on anyone else for their playstyle, why do you hate on mine?
I don't hate your playstyle. I love sneaking up on teams of snipers with no situational awareness sitting 300m away from the battle contributing absolutely nothing to their team.
whenever I find an unaware sniper I stare at them for a second, do a taunt and then just murder them.

Anyway, this non headshot kill bullshit is retarded. I've lost out on 9 kills in a row simply because I'm too far Fuck that's dumb.

Dont understand the sniper nerf, not the magnitude of it anyway. 150 meters is such a short range, and its not like snipers in PS2 were hitscan, to pull a headshot at long range you already had to deal with sway, bullet travel times, falloff and latency

Snipers should be REWARDED for long range headshots. But this change is just. Entirely stupid. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline]
Get closer.
You're an idiot. 150m seriously is naff all distance wise. This change is simply stupid.
They should just delete sniper rifles and C4, then merge infil/LA. Screw both those classes.
