Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

is splash damage broken (in the VR) ? I tried shooting infantry with my bulldog (which does 1 damage at 6meters, so has a huge AOE theoretically) but even shooting next to their feet does nothing to the NPCs.
Ye, splash damage in VR is borked.
the EM1 is hands down the worst LMG the NC has.
it is a 143 damage LMG with a fire rate of 652.
for reference the CARV does 143 at 750rpm...
Every faction gets one. For VS it's mainly useful because it's our only LMG with 100 rounds that can still have a grip or laser, and the recoil is biased and fairly low so you can drill heads with it to compensate for the DPS. The TR one is less controllable but has a better shot velocity, so it's like a non-NS NS-15M. The EM1 is neither controllable nor fast, so there's absolutely no reason to use it.

Yeah, there's quite a few people who aren't aware that the Gauss Saw is and has always been one of the strongest guns at all ranges.
It's a surprising blind spot, but it does kick like a mule, so I would guess that's where the misconception comes from.
I think I saw you earlier! Are you swebonny1337?
Yes that'd be me.
Swebo, you didn't...
I am ashamed of myself.

We all are. Also we gotta go bombing together, I fight the good fight on Cobalt too.
If the enemy is terrible or you're so close that the massive COF spread doesn't matter, then yes. If the enemy is any further than that, evading and shooting back, no.
Gauss Saw is deadly as fuck at mid-long range, but any high firerate weapon (i.e both TR and VS starter LMGs) will 9 times out of 10 beat it in close quarters.
That's why I use the EM1, really short reload, 100 round magazine and fast fire rate. Apparently I'm completely wrong and its the worst gun ever just like the ACX-11.
No, their not.

I always get my ass handed to me in this game. I have no idea what the fuck is going on half the time. I try my best to capture objectives, but the HUD is confusing (it's the lack of obvious icons to show where I'm meant to go that get me, which I guess means I'm retarded, but damn). I'm generally on my own, trying to fight, only to get outnumbered by enemies, even though I'm in an instant action zone.
What the fuck am I doing wrong? People say I should play in a team but it's hard to find a decent team. The only teams I've managed to find are really uptight and spend about 2 hours organising before actually moving out.
What faction and server?
The only LMG I will ever use as NC is the Gauss SAW. It's just so good.
Yes, it totally chunks at hip-firing and close-quarters spray'n'pray, but if you're using it the way it's intended to be used (fired while crouched and stationary, aiming down the sights), it tears through people like paper. As a bonus, the 100 round drum lets you lay down fire for a heck of a long time. It needs some certs in it before it really starts shredding, but it's well worth it.

The thing I hate about it is its very low fire rate. For every bullet you miss with, the guy you're trading shots with gets a 2 to 3 bullet advantage on you. It's a weird way of looking at it but sometimes Spray n Pray is the name of the game in a hallway and the more you put out the better your odds. I like it when the other guy isn't shooting at me. If he is then I lose the majority of the time
If you don't miss, you win every time! I think the Gauss SAW is about the best weapon in the game for people who can manage it. It's much better as a defensive weapon, though, since it requires you to be stationary, crouched, and aiming with it to really kick butt. But it does lodes edamag, has almost no bloom, a very narrow cone of fire, practically nil horizontal recoil, and extremely manageable vertical recoil. If somebody runs into your killing field, you'll drop 'em every time, so long as they're not right up yer ass.
Honestly I've found every LMG to be "point and shoot to kill things" and have been able to shoot decently with any of them at all but the furthest distances. So the only consideration I make now is hipfire accuracy and reload speed.
I'm TR and I hate my guns.
Why?
We're supposedly "High rate of fire" and yet, we don't have a single gun that would at least get to 1200RPM.
When they said, "TR has lots of dakka", I was expecting MG42s and miniguns, not average assault rifles.

I also really don't like our weapon sounds nor models.
Doesn't NC hold the record for highest ROF infantry weapon?

The solution then is obvious. Give TR a space-MG42.

You do know that there is a heavy weapon that is a chain gun right?

This is with the SAW we're talking about. I still don't know if I like it or not
I was doing so well, but alas, the bandwidth required to keep track of 150 people is too much for my fragile ISP's bullshit throttling software, and so I got disconnected. Any attempt to use bandwidth for a period of time results in my internet's upstream dropping off until the modem resets itself. I wish it were a faulty modem but it isn't
You do know that there is a heavy weapon that is a chain gun right?
it's a shouldered abomination of a minigun which I also have the privilege of not owning
EDIT:
Yep, that's got an RPM of 800, which is slower than the GD-7F, an NC carbine.
Fuck, I was expecting our guns to be shit like MG3s and certain tommygun variants that would get to 1500 RPM and M134's with unlocked ROFs being issued as the standard issue infantry service rifle
It's a damn disgrace, is what it is. I'm lowered to using capitalist shit like the NS-11A, and, if the opportunity is right, at times, I will be able to deploy the Cycler TRV, for now - the truest of TR guns.
I seem to find NC weapons really nice to use.
I got more kills with the standard LA weapon than any other factions starting LA weapon.
However I do love the VS's Pulsar-C
wow cool TR is also the only faction that doesn't have a Carbine that shoots faster than 800 RPM
What faction and server?
Vanu, Mattherson.

The Pulsar-C is my favorite carbine. It's just so easy. No recoil no bloom no bullet drop no nothin'. Point at your target and hold the trigger until they are dead.
I wanted pulser C but I just couldn't get over the fact that the Soltice SF has literally everything going for it attachement wise including a grenade launcher. Its just so useful. Too bad the gun itself is rather standard.
Whatever happened to that video a while back where on the test server they were changing how drifters worked to be more of a burst up before drifting at a large cost of energy? So you could tap the key to get on ledges but you'd use up a ton of energy and not be able to get as high as normal JJ's.
I wasn't aware that was a thing. They did dramatically boost the forward speed of drifters (at a sacrifice of the strafing speed, which was a bummer), but they're arguably even more pointless now, since your forward speed isn't noticeably faster than a sprint with the adrenaline pump. At the least the old drifters could be used to, um, drift. In combat, I mean. You could hop to the side and use your jets to circle whoever you were fighting quite effectively, but the reduced strafing speed makes that a no-go now.
I would like them to just make drifter jets dramatically increase all horizontal movement, so you could, like, skate around. That'd be fun, skating around. Super fast skating. For a little touch of PlanetTribes.
Instead of the current AV turret for engineer's I would love it if the turrets were just max weapons on tripods.
No more sniper missiles and you can customize your turret!
Maybe even a barricade would be nice, like a shield door so you can't block entrances.
After maining NC for a few weeks, I tried playing the VS, and holy hell did I get a ton of team kills. Seriously, I never thought about it, but it's so nice to be on the NC since everything is color coded well: friendlies are blue, enemies aren't. There are no differences in the colors of the icons on your minimap and the actual color of whatever structure/vehicle/guy you see, everything is consistent. Plus, I'm just too used to shooting anything that's red, and I'm not rewiring that shit just for my alt
Well no wonder that TR always gets the short end of the stick. The dev team is far from being fair. The heavy favoritism towards both NC and VS is evident.
