Because Lockdown makes you extremely susceptible to dying horribly.
A Lightning with a stock AP cannon can hit you and kill you with two shots as you're desperately trying to withdraw your pitons, you can't even see C4 fairies sneaking up on you, and TR is full of idiot medics that run straight past downed MAXes.
If players couldn't hotdrop straight onto bases (behind all the defenders), lockdown had a [I]FAR[/I] faster deactivate speed, and it granted an accuracy bonus (crouching is currently more accurate) for long range firepower, it'd be a good ability. As it is, it's straight-up the worst ability the vast majority of the time.

Trying to decide if I want to switch over to TR, or stay with the NC. I almost can't deal with the incompetence of the NC on Matherson. They just allow shit to happen. 30 guys will let a single scythe just hover and blast every one of them. It's like they don't know aircraft exist. I shot down 4 scythes with my Vanguard in the span of 30 seconds because no one else was paying any fucking attention
On the plus side, PS2 playing at 40+ FPS during huge fights and on high looks pretty

NC and TR just had a nice long ass fight, with the TR finally being pushed out. Easily 200 people in the fighting
It took this many of us 300 lives to finally cap the room

Which is funny because until a day or two ago, all I heard was people bitching about NC, VS teaming up.
Last night, on Esamir, the VS had like 30 maxes accompanied by a couple of engineers and medics.
TR was trying to zerg, and they got completely destroyed, ending the alert with 14%.
That wall of maxes was a force to be reckoned with.
I'm not a fan of how MAXes can be revived infinite times, I wish they stayed down after being killed a third time
Well I upgraded from a GTX 260 to a GTX 560ti and gained absolutely nothing in terms of FPS. Is my CPU a bottleneck? It's an Intel Q9550 2.83ghz

Yes, that doesn't sound like a particularly good processor. There is a button that tells you the limiting factor in your FPS but I can't remember what it is.
Alt-F, I believe, enables the FPS counter, sometimes it doesn't show anything but your FPS for whatever reason, but it does show sometimes whether your CPU or GPU is shitting you up
Oh, on that note. What graphics settings are limited more by GPU than CPU? I have a really good processor but a fairly old graphics card. With that in mind, any ideas how I should set it up so it looks as good as possible without getting low fps (<40)?

Maybe when swords are released, Infiltrators can get the special role of decapitating corpses and stealing their heads to ensure the enemy cannot be revived. The heads can also be used to decorate your Sunderer.

Melee fighting is hella fun, and it's not to be discounted simply because guns are better in the majority of cases.

Planetside 2 needs bayonets and swords. Maybe some "silent" Infiltrator weapons like supedup crossbow.
I really hope they don't introduce swords unless it's just a cosmetic replacement for the knife.

I'm probably going to be in the minority, but to be honest I really hope they don't add swords full stop. Alternate knives I can understand but full swords just seems like it'd be pretty lame. IMO Those leaked MAX melee weapons looked goofy as hell as it is.
I personally would love to see swords. However they'd most likely induce even more crying than shotguns already do. Simply put for every sacrifice you need a reward, with shotguns you sacrifice long and mid range for brutal CQC, with swords sacrificing all range you need a brutal tradeoff in melee range, and that WILL cause a shitton of crying. So if SOE never introduces swords I can completely see why. I can also agree that it feels stupid in a shooter. But at the same time I think it would be p bad ass.

I'd love bayonets, and cheap ones at that, so you can get an entire outfit to bayonet charge a biolab or some shit hell yeah.

That also brings up another thing... Why isn't Prox Chat like the Resistance and Liberation chat? Like the enemies can hear you just as well as your allies. :v:

I think medic incompetency and the battle literally moving over dead bodies balances the fact they can be revived endlessly
it was never an issue for me, fights shift around way too fast and maxes are easily forced to respawn because of that.

Not on Biolabs, where the defenders can essentially keep MAXes up forever or until they lose the base to a 75% enemy pop advantage.

tbh i think i'd put up with that more than the grown men complaining that no one's reviving them
Forgive me if this has been asked but are there going to be more optimization patches in the near future? Or are they focusing now on other things for a while?

That is some serious highlander shit. Seems like an interesting idea though, would give infiltrators a job from their usual jerking off 1km away from the fight.
