Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think
I am going to call you a lot of terrible names and naughty words if you suggest anything like that again.

That is an absolutely abominable idea.

Wretched.
It worked in Planetside 1, but you could also carry a truckload of guns and C4 in it, so yeah.
Funny. Indar runs worse for me (even with optimizations) than the unoptimized Esamir.
OMFG has helped on Indar for sure, but there are still many places that just bag me down to 19fps for no reason at all.
Might be that there's just a shitload less objects on Esamir. But don't worry, the Amp Station update is throwing in a shitload more!
New courtyard inside the main gate (vertical gen side), vehicles are now completely cut off from the rest of the station.

Old vertical generator area, now point C,
[thumb]http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9043/fbrt.jpg[/thumb]
The back area, now divided in two with B and C spawn rooms.
[thumb]http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/9073/gsjm.jpg[/thumb]
The old main spawn area, now holding point A with the spawn room underground.
[thumb]http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6059/ocrs.jpg[/thumb]
The new spawn room for the owner is where the SCU was, with tunnels leading into each section. The cap timer seems to be 7 minutes with two points, and 3 minutes with all 3. So it looks like the battle's pretty much over once an empire captures them all.
So far I'm liking the changes. Amp stations became boring for me a long time ago, so I'm eager to see how these changes play out.

I recall a video where some guy would kill BFRs by dropping onto them carrying 20 rocket launchers.
I don't think Ps1 balance can apply to Ps2 in anyway.
They'll get around to re-revamping the Indar bases, but hopefully not before Hossin though.
Also, tremble before the might of the Banana Conglomerate.

All the large walls sort of ruin Esamir at times. Sure it keeps tanks out of an infantry fight and all but then you have infantry looking for doors and choked out. Just seems like they over used them. You also get people shelling the wall not helping the team. But the new Amerish bases seems to be coming along well.
Anyone that wants more certs get online ASAP. Currently Double XP day thanks to the anniversary.

I didn't notice that at all....
I am having a complete and utter terrible time trying to play.
I love this game, its fucking awesome, I love the huge battles and cap the point styled play, don't get me wrong. The problem is trying to play and getting huge amounts of lag, and dropping every 1-8 minutes. I wont buy a vehicle anymore because that means I will just be wasting my resources.
And worst of all, I cant even get on their general technical forum page because their forum account system wants me to reset my password every time I try and log on, regardless if I did reset it or not.
It's actually kinda frustrating how much better the bases are on Esamir. Nobody plays on Esamir on most servers because the pop is never high enough. We always end up getting stuck Indar which has fucking TERRIBLE bases in comparison.
Everyone I know and have played with hates Esamir's bases because they are all walled out grind fests and they turned a predominantly vehicle-friendly map into one that plays more like a giant CoD map.
I personally like some of the base designs but I do think they went way overboard. I think vehicles will remain useless on esamir now until they put in the new resource system where we'll need to drive sundy's around and such to get resources for bases. Seriously can't wait for that, gonna start playing again in earnest when that rolls out.

Light assaults are going to rule that shit

We need those bubbles again from PS1. The shield generator I guess? I forgot what it was. Can have somewhat open bases with an actual defense. This way not every base has to be Steamroll with Armor or Infantry chokepoint central
I keep trying to watch the anniversary stream to hear about any cool updates they might have coming (and to try and win that graphics card), but I can't get the dang stream to load.
To be fair, flying vehicles still have a lot to say on Esamir.
I've also always thought that even though you can get stuck in a spawn at any base, if that happens you should go to a nearby base and "attack" the one that's being taken. On Esamir you can do that or just defend on foot, which I personally feel gives defenders more of an advantage than before.
Esamir is my favorite continent, to be honest. I wish more people played there. BattleFlashing on Esamir is a blast, because the terrain is much less stupid, meaning you flip over and die on invisible wrinkles in the ground much less often.

this just happened, all kills are from my engineer turret, this is the craziest thing that has happened to me in any game ever.
I stood out in the open in a grass field and just mowed enemies down without them even firing at me, had atleast 10 enemies in my line of sight like 10 meters in front of me the whole time, I'm honestly wondering if I wasn't invisible due to some bug.
on spawn camping, they probably should have went with multiple spawn rooms with multiple exits per base, while players are randomly spawned at these rooms. so it would be more practical to defend objectives rather than camp spawns.
Just got back in to this, what has changed since around the time the flare guns came out for the 4th? Thats when I stopped playing.
[editline]20th November 2013[/editline]
oh wow getting a solid 60 fps with everything maxed, gorgeous.

I see you're trying to recreate the NC's Banana Rank 14 armor from PS1.

Perfect day to be busy all day and get food poisoning on.
[editline]20th November 2013[/editline]
About the anniversary bundle, if you already own shit in it do you get that value back in certs like they've done earlier?
I'm just waiting for OMFG Phase 2 right now.
Holy christ, 66k exp per hour? How many boosts do you have enabled?
none, got like 1 kill every 3 seconds or so for a few minutes

What is it with you and the flash anyway
What is it with you and the flash anyway
It's what I spend most of my time in the game doing, is all. It's quite fun.
[editline]20th November 2013[/editline]
We have a Love/Hate relationship.
Flashes have the odd way of driving clean under my magrider till about halfway where the get snagged on a burr made on insubstancium and react explosivly.
Also if we're taling about thing we want buffed. I want to see the lasher buffed.
And the other two heavy weapons but the lasher is my favorite because gun that shoots round corners.
NC got some momentum in the last stages of the alert

Funny how the #1 guy in the area had 0 kills. Must have been a lot of dead Vanu
Oi, what server are you on? Mattherson? I think I was fighting in the same general area as you
Which camo is that? It's pretty choice.
It's... Shatter? I think? It's not live yet but it's on the test server.
EDIT: Yep it's called Shatter.
I submitted this for the player spotlight thing, because all anybody else was submitting were screenshot of their scoreboards:
Oi, what server are you on? Mattherson? I think I was fighting in the same general area as you
Yeah it's Matherson
I was the guy who told everyone to sing along to the Rolling Stones
"How does it feeeeeel. To get your asses owwned"
It felt good finally sticking it to the Vanu. I left a spawn room and circled around the outside of one of those smaller outposts, walked into a building, started going up the stairs. A lone engineer in his Mana Turret. I just popped him a few in the head as I walked past killing him. Approached and strafed around the second floor door that shows the upper platform with crates and stuff directly opposite of the room that the rest of my faction is pinned down in and what do I see before my eyes? 8 Vanu crouched down behind a crate, medics healing one another, a couple standing up taking some shots at my guys before crouching back down for some heals. And there I was behind them. They didn't even know. And I had 55 bullets in my NS-15M. Half way through thinking "Will this be enough" I interrupted and thought "It's enough" And laid waste to all of them mother fuckers. Some survived and managed to figure out where the fire was coming from as I was slinging out the last few rounds in my magazine. I had no grenade so I did the next best thing. I pulled my rocket launcher as lucky contestant number 6 actually turned to look at me. He caught the rocket with his kneecaps and the explosion took his last remaining friend with him
of course 20 Vanu ran up the stairs behind me at this point and had their way with me but I had a moment god damnit. A moment that allowed the NC to escape that room and flood the cap
