I haven't played PS2 in a while now. So that's why my dream last night was so weird. I was an NC heavy assault attacking some TR. I had the gauss saw, the standard one you start with. The frustrating part is that for some reason dream logic fucked my day, so the recoil was redonk high. I was shooting full magazines and not hitting a thing. Then on my last magazine with the last bullet I managed to land a head shot on some dude. After that I woke up. wtf
Yeah that sounds like my standard run as HA. I don't play PS2 sober though so I never learn how to control dick.
What faction do you play?
Vanu/TR [editline]13th December 2013[/editline] I play Infiltrator the most, but the NS-7 PDW is already pretty good for them. Medic, Engineer, and Heavy are the classes I play the most after that.
TR: SABR-13 forever. High-powered headshot machine. The only other weapon you'd need for your medic is the TAR (250 certs) or TRV (1000 certs) for close range.
Should I wait for them to go on sale? 700 SC for one gun seems kinda crazy, although I guess it's unlocked account wide.
Yeah, wait for the christmas sale. They had a great one last year, and they will probably do the same this year.
I can't wait to throw all my christmas monies at them
What are your guys best kill streaks? My best was when I went 60-0 in a biolab with a dual mercy MAX. It definitely helps to have engi's hanging around. Also Charge because lockdown is shit and stupid and charge saved my ass from two ZOE maxes since I could run away.
KDR 150 and on average 2.5 kills every minute for an hour solid.
Should I wait for them to go on sale? 700 SC for one gun seems kinda crazy, although I guess it's unlocked account wide.
Xmas sale is starting very soon, just wait Also if you want the NS smg you can just buy it for 200SC plus get a day boost and a camo using the bundle on the website
How cheap does the SC usually go to for Christmas sale?
Last time it was 3 times SC per buck spent IIRC
Last time it was 3 times SC per buck spent IIRC
Pretty good deal I'd say then.
SC is not going to be on sale (or on a multiplier), but they're making so every day an item category is 50% off and there's a 99SC daily sale + 1SC member sale. It's all hand-picked by the way.
Close range snipers may have their sway removed, wow.
Nonsense! SOE gave infiltrators smgs, they already consider every thing close range about infiltrators fixed and working as intended.
Really wish there were some 6 seat ground/air vehicles, nabbing a sunderer or a Galaxy to haul around an ~6 man squad doesn't feel right. A small, quick drop ship that is a bit faster/agile than the Liberator would be useful as hell, same for a ground transport that's quicker than a sunderer and more agile with a lower profile. I mean yeah you could just take two libs or two harassers for a squad around that size but thats no fun :v:
I dunno man, a squad of three liberators sounds pretty good. And with the competencies of most people, you'd most likely have jets and very little AA to worry about. [editline]14th December 2013[/editline] And I finally saw somebody using the Lancer. 2 people beyond render distance would have killed my Sunderer had I not had 3 people repairing it. Why the fuck more people don't use it is beyond me.
Nothing is more satisfying than denying the VS an Alert Victory.
So SOE have made a mockup of the proposed death screen revamp. Shows a bit more information which is good I guess, but they're talking about adding a killcam. https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/unscheduled-death-screen.162116/ Head on over and thumbs down that shit into oblivion.
I don't really die so I guess that doesn't affect me eitherway.
The most they should do is just rotate the camera floating up when you die so the top of your screen is facing the direction of the guy that killed you

However I don't want them to ruin infiltrators or something.
There are many times when I wished for a deathcam just so I can see how the motherfucker killed me. However I don't want them to ruin infiltrators or something.
More than that, I want to see the health of the last guy I shot.

We will figure out where an enemy tanks zerg is headed and plant tonnes C4 on the road in front, as they approach I will do my best solid snake impression and yell "NOW!" Much fun and certs will be had
Ye, deathcam is a bad idea. Would totally bork up Light Assault and Infiltrator gameplay. The expanded death screen is nice, for sure, but if I go through the trouble of getting into a clever spot and am sneakily killin' folks, then I don't want to have my spree ruined because the game cheesed out and showed my victim exactly where I was, so that he can come back and kill me, or tell all his friends to kill me. Camping was only a "problem" in early arena deathmatch games. In a game like Planetside 2, where the action is constantly shifting, who gives a darn?

One is the camera remains anchored to your corpse but points in the general direction of where you died. 2 is you get a large version of the minimap with a large arrow pointing in the general direction of the area of the thing that killed you.

Or ramming 12 Galaxy's at them. Or operating a bunch of liberators and fighters to bomb them from the ceiling. Or sitting at their last base and capturing it back when they leave, blocking the next base. Or carpet bomb them with C4 from the Galaxy. Ooh. Do that. Either you know what did it, or somebody who spent forever getting far away did it, and you shouldn't know where he is. I feel like a lot of the changes as of late are to bring battles closer to each other. Range on most things is getting cut down.
They are currently planning on two ideas for a killcam. There should be no indication. If I've broken through your massive BioLab chokepoint as a Light Assault and have planted myself in the big twisty tree to stealthily pump rounds up your bums because nobody's bothering to turn around and have a look for me, then it would be extremely frustrating to have the first person I kill have his camera conveniently point him at my position so that he can tell his friends to shoot me. I mean, this is basically the entire point of a Light Assault. Seek good cover in the high ground, and rip into people's flanks. Their ability to do that would be hugely compromised by this dumb system. By all means, a death screen showing the health, loadout, damage done, and distance of the dude who killed you would be pretty cool, but I'm gonna nerd-rage if SOE panders to the whining minority to such a large degree as to actually show them where they were killed from.
