Those "minor statistical differences" are pretty huge in practice.
Except when, you know, they're not. They really do mean jack shit, considering how the TR's fastest carbine is slower than the fastest carbine of the NC or VS, how the VS really has no factional trait and how nobody in their right mind that plays an NC uses the slowest firing guns if they have the choice. Nor does anyone who plays TR uses the Cycler TRV and instead uses the NS-11A if they can afford it, despite the fact that it has TR damage and NC firerate.
I am scratching my head as to how you've drawn the conclusions you have. What part of you picked up the SAW and said, "yep, CQC!"

The rate of fire of both (~150 more RPM than the NS11) makes it a murder machine against anything nearby. The NS11 is very random at range as well (seems to have a LOT of horizontal recoil), it gets totally outclassed by the SABR. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] Plus the TAR is a fourth of the price of a NS11.
It's still down? Guess that's what happens when you release such a huge update and then have to swim through it searching for the problem's cause.
The one that screams "AAAAAAAARGH THE FUCKING RECOIL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" weapon efficiency is not determined by DPS and time to kill
Ye. the recoil. The recoil that gives it among the worst hipfire and movement accuracy in the game. The gun that has to be fired in controlled bursts, but when it is has incredible long-range accuracy and stopping power. The gun that is basically the purest embodiment of the NC there is. That's CQC? You gotta be kidding me. Have you ever even used it?
The one that screams "AAAAAAAARGH THE FUCKING RECOIL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" weapon efficiency is not determined by DPS and time to kill
If it has lots of recoil then that just makes it worse for CQC. CQC weapons have low recoil so you can actually keep your sights on the target bunnyhopping around you.

They don't really excel at anything, but are very, very competent at just about everything. That's what makes them so popular. They're just very versatile weapons. Plus they look neat, and have a pretty decent feel to 'em. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline]
Ye. the recoil. I'm just gonna go grab some lunch and quit being combative over a dang video game. All three factions have access to competent weaponry at all ranges, so who flippin cares?
It's still down? Something with them respawning and all the players murdering them. Wasn't predicted on the PTS because it happens on such a small scale there due to fewer players.
so who flippin cares?
every time i die ;_;

Literally the only reason people don't whine about their own faction being OP is because they're bad and aren't killed by their main factions weapons regularly.

I've probably started up P2 18 times today, and every single time the servers have been down. What's going on exactly?
I've probably started up P2 18 times today, and every single time the servers have been down. What's going on exactly?
Higby want those snowmen for himself
I've probably started up P2 18 times today, and every single time the servers have been down. What's going on exactly?
The megapatch released yesterday is causing server crashes. It's a shame, was looking forward to seeing those performance changes.
NS weapons also have the upside of sounding generic and shooting white tracers. Perfect for Infils behind enemy lines because nothing gives you away more than a Vanu purple tracer and distinct weapon sound while in TR territory. An NS one blends in considerably more because the tracers and the weapon sound are all very faction neutral making you stand out a lot less.
So apparently the snowmen are the reason behind(or atleast partially behind) the server issues. Welp.
Those "minor statistical differences" are pretty huge in practice. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] I mean, you're arguing something that is statistically, verifiably untrue. It's not even a matter of opinion. The NC's general weaponry performs best at range. The TR's general weaponry performs best in CQC. The VS's make up the middle ground.
We're shitting out shotguns on all of our vehicles and our Empire specific rocket launcher has a short range. All of the factions have this sort of dueality to them where their weapons and vehicles while sounding like they work together in concert, just don't fit. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] To change subjects, I kinda wanna try to get some aircraft combat scenes from players, aces and such and cut them together to Danger Zone.
This patch feels so good. It's like every gun got buffed, so long as you can aim. Having a hard time getting used to running not-NW5 though.
It dosen't really matter to me who is OP. The game is fun and I like playing as NC. If I don't I can just change. I have characters on all factions.. Except ZOE max, that was awful times.
I haven't had such good infantry battles in months. Lovin' most of this patch so far.
VG Sunderer rush pushed back an NC armored column away from Crossroads. I'm pretty sure every Sunderer had a horn, because gunfire was being drowned out under the constant BURRRRRRRRRRRR BUURRRRRRRRR :v:

The new basilisks are nasty. Heck, the old basilisks were nasty, now they're even nastier-er. I bought myself the short-range bolt action last night. God, that thing is a blast. I'm hoping that pistols go on sale, so I can pick up a commissioner too. Oh, and has anybody seen that new Gray Scales camo? It is pretty dang si-yak (sick).
So I haven't really been doing much MAX before, but just now I rolled a double blueshift max and defended a point close to Ymir Bio lab for a long time against crazed TR forces. Jesus christ the blood and glory. They rushed us in squads and I just came around the corner and NOPE'd them all in the face. In the end we lost though.
Pounders for the TR are actually very good now. They fixed most of the problems they had, and on top of it, increased the splash radius.
Did the AS16 Nighthawk get a buff or something? Because practically every TR player (mostly high ranked) i see uses it.

If you compare their damage per shot they deal quite a lot more than fractures, but they have a smaller mag. If the pattern is the same in the TR as it is in the VS and NC, then the close range AV weapon (Pounders) will have a much higher DPS than the long range version (Fractures), at a trade-off of being less reliable at range.

I don't remember the exact numbers but the pounders were like 280 direct and 190 splash, fractures were 210 direct and 30 splash. This means you deal almost 500 damage per shot with pounders but only 240 with Fractures. Pounders have 4 shots per mag and Fractures 10 so I'm not sure about the dps but Pounders are still on top by quite a lot. This means the only time you'll ever wanna use Fractures are when it's impossible to hit your target with the Pounders. This essentially puts the Fractures in the Vortex position(minus you can still kill people in close quarters with em). [editline]19th December 2013[/editline] Since they changed flak armor to now work against direct explosive hits as well, will a max with full flak armor survive a decimator shot?
