Does today's LMG sale include the special Heavy Assault weapons? Can I finally pick up a cheap Lasher?
As someone whop uses the lasher ALOT let me tell you.
You WILL lose a direct fight.
If you have the height advantage and medium range you will PROBABLY win. (Unless the enemy is using anything with better sustained accuracy than any LMG ever)
Teamates are attracted to the shiny disco balls and it;s your fault for shooting them if they fail to see the door that is lit up like a fucking Christmas tree with plasma orbs.
It's a fun weapon to use... but it's hard to use properly, be aware it will take timne to get used to it...
Oh and forget about shooting ANYTHING uphill

Oh ye, I know. It's not for direct-fire. But it kicks serious butt at suppression! I want a weapon that will allow me to lock down doorways and such with a near-endless stream of splashy hurt. I don't imagine I'll be bathing in kills, but that kind of suppression is very helpful. I'm the dude who uses LMG's like actual LMG's, instead of bigger assault rifles. I'm usually squatting by an ammo pack and continuously spraying long bursts at doorways and corners, even if there isn't somebody actively standing in it. My accuracy rating is shit, but I get loads of assists, and enough kills to keep me happy. You know those idiots who always run up into open doorways to fire, despite the fact that there are OBVIOUSLY a load of enemies just on the other side waiting for him to do just that? Those are my prey when I play HA.
For that, the Lasher is the best weapon there is. I yearn for one.
you could still do that, just use them more like a mine/trap
Of course, but it would still be harder, and I don't think killing MAXes needs to be harder.
Nice avatar btw

Bought the NS-15m on sale, surprised at how good it feels.
Don't go assuming things.
Your "20 hours" don't mean shit compared to the 34 you've spent as a UBGL farmer alone. Or the 71 you've spent in a Harasser. But please, tell me more about how that 4% of your game time you spend in one half of a Prowler makes you a "tanker".
Yes please. Genuinely vexes me watching people sit in spawning room just trading ammo.
There was a biolab alert earlier where my outfit spent a lot of time on the old Amerish ones. NC was trying to push one. At some point I saw a dude run past a teleporter and a bolt driver fired at him and missed. Moment later, same deal, but it didn't look like the shot was even aimed that time. I had a scoped carbine so I just took a moment to look at where the shots were deviating when he missed.
Guy wasn't aiming. He was just in there, firing, reloading, and firing again at the same spot on the wall. Presumably while jacking off. It was fucking surreal.

I can't fathom how a person could dislike the NS-15M. It's the most inoffensive LMG ever.

It isn't loud enough. I need my shit to make me hate myself for using it.
Should I bother use the Prowler's HEAT against other tanks? AP seems to be so much more superior, and as long as you can aim, you can farm infantry too.
Also, the god damn difference between Low quality and High quality, you can see infiltrators so much better it feels like cheating.

I roll AP 90% of the time now, and the other 10% is HE - usually when anchored down at the Crown while farming the poor bastards at Ti Alloys.
[editline]25th December 2013[/editline]
AP, IMO, is pretty much a straight-up upgrade for the Prowler, especially since it has the best anti-infantry secondary weapon (the Marauder) to make up for the weaknesses in the AP main gun.
I thought shotguns were the NC's thing, are we going to get disco guns and recoil-less rifles in return?

Guess I'll get AP whenever I feel like getting 750 certs. I suppose I should try to stick with ally tanks instead of trying to fight that vanguard alone.
Do note that in a brawl the AP won't be the difference that lets you beat a Vanguard. Still, I agree it's the best choice, since splash damage seems pointless to me anyways.

Fairly aware of that, but I guess it would help a lot if you'd manage to get the drop on the vanguard, along with a max ranked vehicle stealth.
I've also recently been using an AP lightning, anything I should know about it in particular or just shoot enemy, try to dodge their rockets?
Shooting things and not being shot sounds like a solid enough plan.
still sitting on 1.6k certs from the Double XP weekend. Only thing I bought with it so far was the MSW-R which was 100 certs so it wasnt even a thing to think about, but now I dunno if I want to buy the Dalton for my lib gunner or if I want to get the chaingun or something.
what NC short range sniper is better, the SAS-R or the impetus? I bought the Impetus but I've had a lot of headshots which would've been 1 hit kills using the SAS-R (I can still buy it as it's cheaper and I got 3K certs lying around gathering dust)
How do you define short range? Ironsights? <100m?
If you really want to be technical, CQB is usually defined as anything with in hand-grenade throwing distance which is ~30-35 meters.
But he said short range sniper. Assuming you're in for bolt action the 250 cert one would be ideal for "short" range. Medium to long would be the old 1000 cert one and the longshot(?) is for maximum range. I'm not very good with NC sniper names
[editline]26th December 2013[/editline]
I'm trying to do short range sniping myself with the ghost but the crappy spanish internet connection won't allow that. After a few seconds everything start jittering all over the place, tanks and maxes are flying and people are going through walls.
yeah I mean the ones with iron sights and a max scope of 4X
[editline]26th December 2013[/editline]
usually no further than 100 meters.
Then the reload speed of the SAS-R will probably be the best.
Anyone else having crazy warping issues after 20 or so minutes in a big battle? Had no problems for a few hours with battles here and there but in the last hour or so, I've had massive desync with the game to the point where everyone is just floating through the sky etc
I did look at the SOE forums and a few people were complaining about this issue months ago, earlier this year but nothing recent

You're telling me this isn't due to my currently spanish internet connection? Whoah.

I love the SAS-R. It has quick become my highest scoring infantry weapon. The 1-shot kill on a headshot rules, but even body-shots hit like the truck, and the very quick bolt-action makes landing two body-shots (which is a kill on every infantry class, except possible high nanoweave heavy assaults with overshield on) not too difficult to pull off.
It will leave you a bit more vulnerable than a semi auto or scout rifle at close range 1v1 stuff, because if you miss the headshot you're prolly toast, but the ability to get a guaranteed kill with a headshot makes it totally worth it, in my opinion. After all, you do have a sidearm you can switch to, and the Commissioner and Underboss take the same amount of hits to kill in close as the semi-auto rifle.
So what's the TR equivalent of the SAS-R?
So what's the TR equivalent of the SAS-R?
The TSAR-42, I think?
It's whichever bolt action starts with iron sights instead of a scope.

Indeed it is. TSAR-42/SAS-R/Ghost

What are the different HA shields best for?
[editline]26th December 2013[/editline]
i can read the descriptions but i have no idea what they mean for me
Oh man, I bought the Thanatos shotgun and the game instantly got five times more fun.
[editline]26th December 2013[/editline]
Also, I just realized something.
When defending bases against the TR, I'm always seeing massive Prowler groups everywhere, but when defending against the NC, I never see Vanguard spam. Why is this?
