Yeah it should be for at least 5+ hours I think? I could be wrong though.
According to the announcement it's going to be on for another 13 hours or so.
But then of course we know SOE can't do CET so we'll never know

since when
i cant remember it being in the beta
since when

Added early last year IIRC
I don't understand the whole "the VS are just no fun to fight" thing at all
I don't mind it. There's nothing that says "We play Vanu" like
1. Having a pop advantage
2. Spamming ZOE maxes
3. Still losing
I just like playing NC because blue.
And being SC2 marine.
I play TR because glory
and sometimes vanu cus hover
I pay NC because the weapons sound cool, feerdum and to blue.
Turns out that I simply cannot snipe with scopes. I spoke earlier about running around with the ghost(short range bolt action) and using ironsights. Well I bought the 3.4x thinking it was a good scope, I couldn't hit shit and I just couldn't figure out why I couldn't aim at all, and then I went back to ironsight and racked in kills.
What the fuck is wrong with me
The inability to remember basic geometry?
When you first aim at a target and then correct your aim to make the actual shot, you're sweeping an arc. If you need to change it by 2 degrees at a low magnification, you need to move your mouse over a small number of pixels. If you need to change it by 2 degrees at a high magnification, you need to move it over a large number of pixels. You will always shoot better with the smallest possible optic that still allows you to see your target.
Personally, I wish they made the stock scopes on the "long range" sniper rifles be 3.4x or 4x instead of 6x. It's kinda like not allowing "close range" weapons to have 2x reflex sights, all it does is annoy people trying to use the weapon correctly.

The thing is I know how to lead, I'm usually pretty good at it. But when it comes to scopes I fucking suck. It feels like bad luck every shot but it's obviously not.
Anyways

I did not deserve this, the gods favor me today.
[sp]I got away at <1% hp from a dogfight and into the warpgate where I won't die, TWICE[/sp]
It has nothing to do with knowing how to lead shots, it's literally just big scopes having higher margins of error and lower response times because triangles. Everybody is always better off with the lowest magnification level possible.
In every game I think there is some form of placebo effect that seems to remove bullet drop and minimize the need to lead your shots when using iron sights or very low magnification sights.

It's not a placebo effect, at least not for leading shots or controlling recoil.
Aim down sights using iroinsights, aim at a rock. Now move your aim to a tree nearby. Take note of how far you moved your mouse.
Now equip a scope. Aim at the same rock, then move to the same tree. Note how you had to move your mouse farther than before.
I don't use sights on any of my weapons, even if it means trying to align my sights with a single pixel at range. The point of aim for most sights seems to be below the actual crosshair, for the Reaper DMR and NS-11 at least. Ironsights are bang on. Also, what Xenocide said.
I hate the way scopes are in modern shooters anyway, it's zooming in rather than actual magnification.
Are they ever going to add proper joystick support? Right now trying to dogfight using one is pissing in the wind.

New Heavy Assault Armor sets? Welp, won't be getting those. They do look really cool, but I just never play HA.
Probably wont be getting any more armor until they make some cool looking Light Assault, or Medic armor. LA armor looks like you're wearing pajamas and steampunk cosplay for TR.
Also, anyone else notice the VS helmets are looking decidedly more Warframe-esque lately?
The other classes already have new armour sets in the game files, though none of them are as elaborate as these.
Reminds me more of MAX. I'd like to see some fancy new models for other classes, though.
It looks like it would be some kind of beefier heavy class. Like, stronger than HA but squishier than an actual MAX.
Maybe they'll make the regular HA a little stronger and more restricted :optimistic:
I hope that whatever those are, that they look that good ingame. I dont care if class recognition sucks, those look too good to be chopped up for performance/lazy artists
I definitely want some more armour choices. It's kind of bugging me how long it's taking them to get some out there. I mean, it's been over a year since release and the only class to really get any alternate armour cosmetics is the MAX (I don't really count Drakon armour). It's especially annoying since we know for a fact that they have armour sets for other classes sitting around but they're not releasing them. This time they don't even have the excuse of "we don't want to bombard the market with too many new items at once" to fall back on when it comes to holding back new armour cosmetics since there's almost no other items in that category to be bought anyway. It just seems like they're literally holding them back for no discernible reason.

Would purchase the armor day one, but I'm not fond of the helmet.
I've realized during the time that I've played this game that.
It's a bad game. Sure it can be fun when the planets align and you get this great fight where everything was awesome. But most of the time it's awful and broken game play. All over the place I see lazy solutions to some glaring problems and sometimes I see a problem with an obvious solution persist. Flashes still suck. The tactical alternatives to combat are boring and bland. The spectrum of combat roles is gradually becoming more diminished. The way combat "flows" across the map is predictable and boring. To me it seems like I'm chasing this fun time that is but a mirage on the next sand dune. Just like the new content we were promised, you will never get close enough to touch it.
That's why I'm done with this game for now. See ya.
525 hours on steam, I feel dirty.

Perfectly understandable though. Anyway...
Being an experienced pilot in 2142, I've been practicing the particular dynamics of flight and survival in PS2. Man, getting used to the flight physics was quite the endeavor... Not used to momentum screwing me over so much. Think I've kinda gotten used to it, though my main is an NC on Waterson, my piloting practice is a TR on... Uhh... I can't even remember...
Anyway, VR training SEVERELY undersold the infantry murdering power of the Banshee. Combine that with the fact that I've an almost maxed radar, thermal vision (So I'm actually supportive to the groundies actually doing the important part.) and nothing can hide. My crowning moment was completely eliminating a rather large infantry force of about... 15 out of 20 guys attacking a base, and supressed them enough that the rest of my squad converged and destroyed their sunderer. Certainly learned me that my particular mosquito is adept at defense.

It's definitely a weird situation with this game. I also agree with what he's saying, and everything he said are the main reasons I can't in good conscience recommend the game to any of my friends. But on the other hand despite its many flaws it still fills a niche no other game does currently and I fucking love it.
I also agree with RAH and Jimesu, it is also the main reason why i only play PS2 on a few rare occasions.
Sometimes i feel like it's not going anywhere while sometimes i'm having a real blast.
I dunno how to explain it properly.

This is a typical thing I have with just about any Game, sometimes it just feels like a drag, a chore.
Then sometimes, I just get back into it for no reason, it's not like there was a new update or anything it just happens. It's for this reason that I don't like subscription based games because I just won't PLAY them enough to justify a monthly fee, even though I have a Job and could easily afford it.
