Oh for fucks sake! The second I get a weapon on trail the game is not goign though a series of chain crashes. I get to play for 2-10 mins and it crashes meaning I'm not getting to trial the weapon properly.
This 3208 certs is killing me. I want to spend it so bad. Their are so many good ways of spending it I have them all written down on a pad :( I just gotta hold out a bit longer and I can spend them on that buggy. But then again saying that the only one coming out soon will be NS. I don't know if I will be able to hold onto them for the faction specific. Dam you temptation !!!!!!!!!
What is that video meant to prove? There is no way you would manage to do that shit mid flight, nor does it show whether you're going to actually survive a crash against another incoming ESF, let alone a scythe. People need to stop doing research in VR The scythe on the other hand can just ram you head on with no problems, player perception my ass. My liberator got rammed twice by a scythe just yesterday and I've seen a member of my outfit getting blown up on a head to head collision while the scythe got away without a scratch
I tend to go down rather heroicly when I crash with enemy scythes in my mosquito, we both often die. As a matter of fact, since they're NS I get it converted to certs on ALL chars?
I tend to go down rather heroicly when I crash with enemy scythes in my mosquito, we both often die.
It's not guaranteed for a scythe to survive after ramming because it depends on the angle, speed, and probably latency. However, it is a far more common occurrence for scythes
Yeah I figured that out. We both do tend to die, and I scream bullshit at my screen if that asshole survives. I'm still wondering though, was the double-sc-purchases-converted-to-certs a one-time thing? Or if I buy the lightning bundle now, do I get both the HE and AP cannons converted into liquid certifications? Because if it does then it will most likely be on all chars since it's NS weapons and they did that for my other weapons. Also what happens if I make a new char, does it start with a ton of certs?
They said they did not plan to give certs for dupes again but it wasn't excluded, but given the outcry when they did I'd be very surprised if they did that again
They said they did not plan to give certs for dupes again but it wasn't excluded, but given the outcry when they did I'd be very surprised if they did that again
Ah, I was thinking if they had added an automated system to immediately refund any double purchases. But if that was the case then they probably haven't.
I am caving in as I can quickly regain my certs before faction specific buggies come out. But I need your help on what to buy. 3213 certs to spend. I am going to buy the NS-357 Underboss with the lazer sight. This will work well as it goes on all classes and my close range infiltrator could do with it when the hailstorm is reloading or getting the drop on the human sponge known as the heavy assault. That is 1100 certs gone already. Now I play engineer all the time as I use vehicles but sometimes I need to take out vehicles without having a vehicle myself so I have 2 choices for the engineer in regards to blowing up enemy vehicles. Either 2 C4 for the engineer utility 700 certs or 1000 certs on the anti-vehicle manna turret. What do you think would be better out of those two? This would leave me with either 1413 or 1113 certs. The last of the certs could be split between level 6 of the repair tool 500 certs and 710 certs into nano weave armor. (Would have to choose the first previous option to do this or spend less on nano weave armour) Or cert into my Prowler tank. 800 certs into anchored mode and front armour 100 certs. Then depending on previous options 391 certs on acquisition timer or 50 certs on night vision and 91 certs on ammo. A possible option to replace acquisition timer is to just get the level 6 repair tool for second option. ------------ I am going to sleep now so hopefully I will get some advice on what options to go for tomorrow. My main problem really is between the c4 and the turret the rest I can make up my own mind on but advise on that stuff anyway.
They probably look pretty okay with composite armour. To me it looks like it's mostly the lack of shoulder pads that make it look weird on every other class, which composite adds to them.
Comp armour does help, but the colours still don't match well and it still looks retarded on the Infil. [thumb]http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/5830/newhelmtr.jpg[/thumb] Meanwhile NC has the opposite problem, the helm is way too small. [thumb]http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/9485/newhelmnc.jpg[/thumb] VS one actually doesn't look too bad at all. [thumb]http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/1336/newhelmvs.jpg[/thumb]
I hope they retexture the medic version of the helmets to include a white strip, or it'll become slightly harder to tell medics from other classes. Plus, VS infiltrator with open face looks dumb as hell.
Why do the VS, of all people, have their faces exposed on their armour? Surely out of all the factions that makes the least sense?
Here I've found a pic with Dreadnought helmet with camo applied to it. Doesn't look half bad I think. Though it feels like there're some filters applied to the texture of the helmet... It still doesn't match the rest of the body. Colours are off.

Here's the NC helmet texture: The default helmets all use the detailed stuff in the top left, but with the new helmet the majority of the mesh is mapped to those grey blue and yellow squares on the right. Most if not all of the detail is in the mesh itself, or these detail filters/overlays/whatever you want to call them. Same deal with composite armour and apex helms and stuff. I guess it's for optimization. They want to reuse as much of the texture sheet as possible so they don't have to make the game cache more files, but they've left a lot of blank space just in case they absolutely need it for some extra detail. The downside I guess is on low settings there are no detail filters, so the mesh just looks like flat plastic.

Also they're easy to snipe or take out by a cannon, so watch out. If you're going C4 I'd rather go for it with Light Assault, much easier to deliver the payload. As for tanks and shit it's up to what you like to do, nobody else really can tell you what to cert in there.
To be honest I don't really see a reason for C4 outside of LA and medic(Medic to take down enemy maxes)
Me neither, but I'm not against letting other classes have it as an option.

I'm pretty sure I saw Mat Broome say on twitter that they're supposed to scale differently depending on the class wearing them so they don't look so weird. Some of those clearly don't look correct.
Does anybody know what the cooldown on the buggy is? Can you cert it down to nothing, like the Flash, or is it similar to the Lightning?
Does anybody know what the cooldown on the buggy is? Can you cert it down to nothing, like the Flash, or is it similar to the Lightning?
IIRC you can cert it down to 5 minutes like all other vehicles(aside from flash)

I spent my certs. I ended up with 3303 to spend. Here is what I ended up getting. ---------------------------------------------- * NS-357 Underboss | 1100 certs| * Anti-Vehicle Mana Turret | 1000 certs| * Prowler Anchored Mode | 800 certs| * Prowler Front Armour | 100 certs| * Prowler main gun zoom | 1 cert | * Prowler main gun ammo | 91 certs| * Engineer Nano Armour | 210 certs| ---------------------------------------------- Total 3302 certs ---------------------------------------------- Happy with how much I got out of that many certs. (I only spent 1 cert on the zoom as with only 2 certs left I thought why not)
I'm so brilliant I land my mosquito on an enemy territory landing pad so close to the edge that I fall off when I exit and fall down and die in the ravine below.
GU08 COMING TOMORROW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/gu08-what-to-expect-and-when.121748/
Hey all - We're putting the final touches on what should be our biggest Game Update yet! We're really excited about some of the things being released in GU08 and think you will be too. So, I wanted give you guys a quick preview of what is coming with the update. The biggest thing you're going to see right away in GU08 is the addition of the Harasser buggy! The Harasser is a lightly-armored highly mobile 3-man assault buggy. Designed primarily for hit-and-run attacks and rapid strike team insertion, the Harasser fills a really fun role in the game. It has a dedicated driver, a gunner who has access to a top mounted 360 degree turret and a rumble seat which can hold any infantry class, including a MAX. Some cool tactics are opened up with the Harasser, some of my favorites so far are to use them with Burster MAXes as a fast moving AA response, equipping a Gate Shield Diffuser to soften up defenders in a courtyard before sending in troops to blow the gens, or of course, using the Turbo to launch yourself over cliffs to your firey death - which isn't so much a tactic, but it's still pretty fun. We can't wait to see the ways you guys use the Harasser to bring a new dimension to the vehicle gameplay on Auraxis! Next up, we've got some MAX updates: Each empire specific MAX is getting a new set of AV weapons, these are each designed to compliment the existing MAX AV weapons, by creating a long range AV option for the MAX, while the current ones will provide better overall DPS in close range situations. Since the item preview page is pretty good now, I'll let the UI do the talking on these new weapons: We've also got a set of 2 new Helmets and 1 new set of armor for each empires MAX. We're not 100% done with all the MAX updates yet, however. So, for GU08 have decided to hold off on releasing the new MAX abilities until we have have a bit more time to make sure they are properly tuned. With any new ability or item that substantially changes the way an empire plays in an asymetrical way, we need to be extremely careful about making sure they're perfectly tuned and counterbalanced before releasing them. By keeping these abilities on the Public Test server for a few more days and continuing to iterate and refine them based on feedback from our Public Test players, we hope to get all of the kinks worked out and unleash them on the rest of the servers soon! MAXes aren't the only ones getting some new cosmetics with this update, each empire is getting a new infantry helmet that works on all non-MAX classes. These helmets were made based on a lot of requests for more sci-fi inspired helmet options, and we hope you dig them as much as we do. Balance and Tuning changes: GU08 is also bringing a substantial balance pass on many infantry weapons, virtually all carbines, LMGs, Assault Rifles and SMGs are being touched in one way or another, as well as many of the attachments. The exact changes will be available in the patch notes, but the general idea of this tuning is to carve out specific roles for each weapons, ensure that the weapons intended to shine at long range are doing just that, and that the ones that are supposed to be close quarters slayers aren't dominating in the medium and long ranges as well. This is being done in pursuit of a goal for us to lessen the dominance of any "one-size-fits-all" weapons in the game. Tank armor has been increased for GU08 in order to give our lumbering armored friends a bit more survivability. This change mostly means that each tank is capable of taking 1-2 more standard infantry rockets worth of damage before turning into a pile of slag and getting eaten up by nanites. AP rounds for all tanks, and base turrets, as well as the Dalton and 30mm Tank Buster and Shredder Liberator weapons have a new resistance type which bypasses these armor buffs, making those weapons have the exact same number of shots to kill as previously, and further defining them as the best tank killing weapons on the battlefield. UI updates: On the UI front, we've got a couple enhancements that players have been asking for, some of the big ones include: The ability to separate the customized colors for players and facilities. Now, player and vehicle indicators on the map and hud can be colored with one setting and capture nodes, terminals, territory control and facilities with another. Capture progress bars on the map now animate to denote the direction the capture progress is heading, so you can more quickly understand if it's being captured or resecured. Capture progress bars on the HUD now show a time remaining, to be consistent with those on the map. Ability to preview items which are in a bundle Ribbons and stats now show correctly for vehicle weapons Bug Fixes: As always we've fixed a ton of bugs, some of the highlights include: Hitting WARP on a continent on the Warpgate map should now put you in the queue more reliably when the continents are heavily loaded Vanguard shield should no longer incorrectly drop when taking small amounts of damage from certain weapons Fixed an issue where two helmets appeared to be equipped simultaneously Many, many more! As you can see, this is one of our largest updates to the game so far! We can't wait to get GU08 out to you guys so you can check out all the awesome. Luckily for all of us, the wait won't be long, baring any last minute issues we run into, GU08 will be released to live servers Tomorrow morning at 5am PDT! See you on Auraxis!
It doesn't seem right to use the same model for all classes without even minor edits. That or unfinished content leaking into the Test Server again, I'll just wait for GU08 and see. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] Is it me or does the VS MAX AV weapon still uses the Lancer model with a pistol grip?
Ah nuts, I really wanted the frag launcher for the max. Unless the TR AV has a really fast projectile speed it's going to be garbage. Other empires basically get to dual wield their specific launchers.

anyone got tips for fixing severe fps drops? i really wanna be a good pilot but i cant since my fps goes to hell once a firefight starts
