Email support. They are usually pretty understanding
[del]How much longer are the servers supposed to be down for they have been down for hours.[/del]
Never mind I just found out they are already supposed to be back up they are just running late doing it.

Contact SOE support. They don't give refunds AFAIK, but you might be able to get them to swap out your Engineer Composite for HA Composite.
Servers down for anyone else? I dunno if it was supposed to take this long or what.

Servers was supposed to go down for 3 hours for the ESF update but they have come across a gateway server error that has now extended the servers to be down for 7+ hours. That is more 4+ hours more than expected. Not only this servers are going down for 12+ hours for a big maintenance in less than 5 hours.
It's as expected. SOE always at least double their downtimes with "unexpected issues". Wouldn't surprise me if the 12 hour one will last the entire friday.

We went from barely holding the bases around our warpgate to this in about 2 hours, I also got to lead a platoon for the first time which was awesome.
Meanwhile on the other continents NC are wrecking shop. When I've been playing teh past few days NC has had 40-50% world pop and dominate 2-3 continents as VS and TR try and hold territory on one.

You are certainly correct that the NC are using the TR and VS as personal toilets on the other continents but it's a small strive toward balancing things again, but I haven't been on today so I can't see how Amerish is doing now :v:
You asked for it, you got it! I'm going to be on Friday Night Ops doing some level design this Friday at 6pm pst
Sweet.
For some reason I didn't have the dogfighting 2 frame equipped since I bought it. No wonder I didn't notice anything.
Coming up on 1000 certs, wondering which gun to buy. I main MAX/HA and am Vanu. I'm leaning toward the revolver(s) or the lancer, maybe another burster. Any suggestions?
Annihilator is pretty solid all around. If you play with a couple of friends, the Lancer can kill everything forever. You can defend almost anything by hopping a base away and pelting all the vehicles.

Both factions were able to hold. I was Ops Lead during it. We kept hoping around but finally joined PXP with other outfits as we slammed into Andvari and completely wrecked the VS. At the same time the TR were captures Mani.
Nice little burst of certs. I got the silver medal for the skyguard, the pounder and the T5 within 10 minutes of each other. Extra 30 certs is nice atop of what I normally earned.
According to one of the ESF twitch steams Higby frequented, he confirmed that they had been talking about weapon medals that day and have more planned in the future. So implemented in 6 months.
Also, I heard one of the most amusing things ever from an exasperated squad leader to the platoon lead:
"Dude, we can't get to the waypoint! Have you seen how many fucking cars, spaceships and robots there are out there?!"
All with this hilarious Californian accent.
Woodman has been down all night for me. I hoped it'd be up in the morning after but it still isn't :I
I don't understand the new Noseguns.
They are clearly designed for newer pilots in mind (more bullets, less damage, less penalty if you miss), but they are 1000 certs, completely locking out newer players from trying them.
This cert wall completely prevents the Noseguns from doing their intended purpose.
They should be about 250 certs, not 1000.

ESFs in general are not friendly for newer pilots.w

Ya know, cuz cert wall
I dunno, I plonked up a TR character on Connery for the sole purpose of practicing flying and being effective in ESFs.
While 'effective' is largely situational, I've managed to get quite a few kills with just the needler and the base zoom. Granted it was mostly sub 20 BR people in small engagements, but still.
I can imagine that the new radar spot XP bonus will result in a lot... a LOT of radar ESFs parking on a bio-lab. Granted I did that before the XP bonus (Hipster glasses), but now I can see this as a very easy way to farm a farm.
Farmception!
Reinstalling again and the installer is hitting my system hard. I can barely run any programs, Firefox pages take forever to load, and my hard drive is making weird noises. Has anyone here gotten this? I can find nothing on the official forums.
To head it off before someone asks, it's not my hard drive. Diagnostics say it is fine and I've had trouble with no other games.

NC Arsenal is now a fucking nuke silo.
Well great, got no passive cert regen during the massive downtime. Lost ~30 certs on each character.

Eh, got em on two of my four chars, got 10 on the others.
I got a good idea on something that Planetside 2 really needs:
So you have your normal Character delete window where you confirm it by typing in that characters name.
But then there should be a second place to type in a name.
Above that the text should say something like: Type in the name of the character you want to relocate the certs to.
Normally when you delete a character all your work that took several months/days depending on how much you did is lost.
With this thing I thought of the progress that mattered would not be lost (the certs).
Right now I got a New Conglomerate character that I had from the launch of PS2 but I do not really use it.
That character was able to collect slightly over 3000 certs when I did use it and I would want to instead have that character deleted and the certs moved to my VS character that I use daily now.
So after that window of character deleting it would then work like this.
You Start playing with the character you selected the certs to go to and it would say:
Greetings, Soldier. We have assigned you (in my case with deleting the NC character and cert relocate to the VS) 3042 cert points. Utilize them wisely.
Do what would help so many and try to at-least get the word out of this suggestion to the devs.
I would create like 6 characters and log into all of them everyday.
I mean I wouldn't because that would be boring as tits but I can't see them being keen on the idea.

To prevent that there would also be a limiting thing like you can do it 3-5 times as a f2p user and unlimited if you are a paying (premium user/membership).
(I sure think they would not care what people do as long as they support them).
If people would "abuse" the unlimited part about having membership, getting the shortest time membership and doing that.
Then suddenly they would have money coming in from new places that it might not have before.

The Coyote missiles are the only worthwhile new weapon imo.
