Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

Wow I just realized we still can't switch servers
The Coyote missiles are the only worthwhile new weapon imo.
I can imagine some use for the new nosegun, but the hornets are a joke. There is no reason to ever use them over standard rocket pods. Coyotes seem decent though.

Hornets take a little different approach to use, being guided weapons. They allow to remain at longer ranges and engage armour (they are anti-vehicle specifically) more effectively, avoiding the worst of the aa fire. They can't be used like standard rocket pods as that defeats the purpose. I've seen some people, and been advised by them, to use fire them before your sights are on target. You can correct their path after they are launched, giving less warning and avoiding exposure.

Thought about that, but I disagree. The worst of the AA fire is when you are above. If you are going to strike with the hornets you need to take time, which means you leave yourself open to much more AA and tank shots. The rocket pods allow for more hit and run, which is the only way an ESF will survive.
I find that I receive the most AA fire when I'm in an aircraft of some flavor.
Speaking of which, is the Skyguard worth buying?
I was looking for some niche to fill on the battlefield, and the Skyguard seems perfect for that.

What I meant by the correct your path is you fire it up slightly at the sky, climb above tree level, and correct the missile's flight in the last few moments. I ran into a pair of scythes doing it last nigh while I was in my skyguard, and they were nightmares (I had to run away like there was no tomorrow) because by the time I saw the aircraft, there missiles were less than a hundred meters. Away.
I suspect in the long run, they will get a buff to maximum range and flight speed, but at the moment, they are a decent choice for someone who really knows what they are doing in the air.

Also, having played around with the vulcan for a while now, it really needs a buff, and separate versions made between the harrasser and the prowler. There is no reason to use it over the basilisk.

Well you most likely won't be racking in much certs with it but I find it quite enjoyable.

I'd recommend the AA launcher or another burster first. Skyguards are good at killing planes, but lightnings in particular are targeted by Libs and ESFs because of their low health. Skyguards are even more targeted because they're super obvious and are dangerous to have around. Plus, tanks like to kill you. You'll also need to be a team player to use it, since it has a low enough ammo pool and no real defenses from other vehicles.
Basically, it's hyper-specific at its job, but other things exist that are marginally worse that aren't hyper-specific in their use.

oh my god, it's about time they fixed that
I think this fix has caused vehicles to occasionally become impossible to undeploy.
Double XP weekend confirmed by Lord Higby
I think this fix has caused vehicles to occasionally become impossible to undeploy.
yep, I had a sundy up and it just simply refused to undeploy. I also have problems with my tank being unable to turn while stationary.
once one bug is fixed, two more bugs are made.
That means I can soon buy the last level of Sunderer proxy repair! Soon, I will repair more damage than people can even inflict.

Just like the other guy said, it is fairly easy to ward aircraft away so you do your job, but actually finishing them off is sometimes tricky, so you wont be swimming in certs.
You just need to hit them once or twice for them to realise that they should haul ass and stop taking pot shots at your allies, but to consistently hit aircraft enough to finish them off doesn't happen oftenly.
All in all, it's useful as hell, enjoyable (i crack up every time i hit an ESF with a single bullet and the guy freaks out and hits a mountain or something) and everyone is going to love you and suck your dick.
Have you already trialed it out?
Edit:

I tried it in the VR training.
Seems fairly decent, but the spread is horrible, and the damage is pretty underwhelming.
IIRC it was heavily nerfed at one point, right? If it had better accuracy I would definietly buy it, but I guess I will still buy it once I get the certs or station cash.
I'm about to play Planetside 2 on my new PC, I can't wait to see how well it runs now.
Anyone know when the server downtime ends?
Anyone know when the server downtime ends?
All servers are currently up but there is a problem with the server Connery right now if that is the one you are trying to join.

Oh okay that explains it, thanks!

You shouldn't be bothered by the accuracy, it's a bloody flak, it explodes when it's close to the target
if something is far enough that the spread is bigger than the target, you'll have to lead your shots a LOT and wont hit anyway.
And the damage isn't all that low, try flying a fighter next to a skyguard and you'll understand what i mean.
But yeah, you wont be taking down liberators and galaxies by yourself, unless the pilots are REALLY stupid, you're supposed to scare them away.
You should really trial it when you're in a platoon and have enough backup to defend you so you can do your job in peace, it should show you how it is in action better.
As people said, the main issue with the skyguard is how vulnerable you are by being a massive target to other ground stuff.

Bursters have better DPS (AFAIK) but are short ranged.
Skyguards are easier to hit with (IMO) but have lower DPS and can be pretty difficult to use against infantry because the spread is fucking crazy at short range.
Thanks, I'll do just that. Only tommorow, gotta get some sleep.
When does this start?
I mean, at what time exactly?

Remember back in beta when you'd be instagibbed if you just happened to be standing within 10 meters of a galaxy under burster fire?
That is still to this day the worst AA fire I've ever recieved.
So i've just started trying to fly aircraft
Turns out those massive crystals in the landscape are the most effective AA.
Don't worry, a lot of people have issues with crashing into things. In particular, those crystals and ammo towers.
Officially in love with Jackhammer and female NC voice. Brutal combination.
Female NC is so high pitched.
And the servers are dowwwwwwnnnnn
Mattherson has been going up and down all day.
Right now there's a guy in the TR warpgate running around playing The Final Countdown over the mic. :v:
