Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think
IIRC you can cert it down to 5 minutes like all other vehicles(aside from flash)
Blech. I hate the vehicle cooldowns in this game. At maximum certs into cooldown, you shouldn't have to wait between vehicle spawns anymore. There's a vehicle resource cost for a reason, the cooldown doesn't matter much if you blast through all your resources too quickly. At least there's always the Flash!
A little bit bummed out, looks like we're restricted to using SOE's textures. Oh well, makes it easier, means I don't have to make my own. Also I asked T-Ray if there would be any way to preview the model with ingame shaders before submitting, but he said no. So it's pretty much guess and hope for the best.

So close now. Once it's done I can start working on TR. I'm thinking a mix between a Snowtrooper, NOD trooper from Tiberian Sun, and Cobra Commander.

as they said in that post, 3-2 harassers with gate shield diffusers and AI weapons can wreck up infantry good time.

In comparison to Valve who implement model and texturing previews in the game itself, SOE actively tries to limit the amount of community help it can receive.

Not yet, but soon, according to T-Ray.

So yeah, make stuff (at first it'll only be helmets, decals, camo and hood ornaments), submit it, if it gets approved they put it on the store, and you get 40% of the earnings.
GU8 patch notes are out.

Knowing soe, in Smedbux.
TR TRAC-5
Short Reload: 2.6 to 2.595 seconds
lol, are they serious?
anyway, I hear the buff to rear tank armor should have a big impact on rocket pod instagibs, which is good
And nano repair buff for max, so so delicious
Damage delay reduced to 8 seconds.
Increased Healing rate
Tier 1: 0.5% per second
Tier 2: 0.75% per second
Tier 3: 1.0% per second
Tier 4: 1.25% per second
Tier 5: 1.5% per second
Knowing soe, in Smedbux.
Nope. Money.
I can see why you're working on it already Jimesu :V
The first wave of decent player made stuff will make a fair amount of dosh I'd wager.

After seeing this i got a urgent need of learning to model myself, anyways, hope to see your stuff in-game Jimesu!

My thoughts exactly. So far I've seen plenty of concept art (90% of which T-Ray shoots down because it's generic anime-style robot armour bullshit which doesn't fit into PS2's art style at all), but those guys seem to stop dead in the water when it comes to actually modelling the stuff. The only other person I've seen getting anything done is this guy.

The competition seems virtually non-existent. :D
hah awesome well I wish you the best of luck!
and pls make us actual good stuff because the SOE art team is pretty meh.

Thank god for this. I was a little annoyed after timing the shield duration before and after spending certs to increase it, and finding they were the same.

Great the basilisk is even more worthless now.
Can someone tell me why they use thousandths of a second for reload times?
the slight change to the TRAC-5 of .5 thousandths of a second shorter doesn't seem like it would matter a damn bit.
Also, it seems like Burst fire weapons are getting the much needed buff they deserve and are now half as accurate as before!
NC Bouncers and VS Proximity Mines now have attached lights that will allow aware players to spot and avoid them.
FUCKING YES !!!!!!
I get killed by NC and VS anti personal mines all the time even when I am looking for them. They blend into the buildings grates so well.
But yet the TR has ours being red and sticking out of the ground nice and noticeable. Not sure but I will assume they can see the green laser as well.
Really happy the NC and VS now have lights on theirs. Hopefully it is somewhat noticeable.

Part of me wants to see some examples of these poor attempts and T-Rays Subsequent shooting downs...
mostly because Schadenfreude and other such delights one takes in looking at morons trying to make their sewed and unwanted opinions and designed pushed unto others with little or no regard for art-style, opinions of other people and criticism.
To watch someone try to peddle the generic Desu Animech (insert string of japanease sounding words here) and invaribly throw a ragefit when anyone DARES point out that it's unfitting let alone just a bad design in general!
That foul and foetid muck drawn up from the dark depths of Devient Arts "OReganul HCaractur, DONUT STEEL!" where you see streams of of such black vile as "This is MY art, not yours, don't talk shit about MY art, go away if you don't like it!"
To see them present their rotten egg of an idea and have it struck down! To see the look in there eyes as the blinding light of rationalism shines into the dark corners that they open up.
I want to see their world BURN!
... I think I got a LITTLE too carried away with that rant... don't you? Perhaps I should write a book.
Anywho your helmet is pretty fucking Badass and I wish you the best of luck getting it in game. Just wish I could model.
The HArasser is REALLY fun. I got together with two other people just standing around and we just pulled harassers and gunned for each other with a max always in the back. Esamir was especially fun since you could hit and run and it was exciting escaping form enemy fire.
GU8 is out
Not sure if the new max-lancers are really worth it over comets, which were buffed in damage (along with the previous patch buffs in projectile speed and reload speed)
Max-lancer pros:
1. Can quickly spam damage if something needs killed quickly and doesn't have much health
2. Super fast projectile speed and as such great for long range against anything - air, infantry (kinda), ground. They work a lot like low-magazine size bursters too against air if you just spam them without charge
Max-comet pros:
1. Kills a vanguard from the side in about 16-17 seconds from full health, versus 24-25+ if using dual lancers
2. It's effectively half the cost in SC/certs because you don't have to buy two of them
3. The projectile speed is still pretty damn good... not good enough for air or far moving targets, but good enough for most engagements. Against infantry, kind of works well as a high damage lasher-esque weapon. With the super quick reload its also as if you never have to worry about reloading between shots.
The comet is simply better... and much cheaper. But yet the lancer-like weapon works great at long range, and against both air and ground because of how fast it is. Plus, FUCKING LASERS.
Also apparently a really quick+easy way to get lots of certs is to gen-farm
Fly around in an ESF, go to abandoned bases you don't control (ideally behind enemy lines) and just overload/blow all the gens and then immediately move onto the next one.
With boosts you get about 500xp per overload and 1000xp per destruction. 6-7 gens per amp station plus other facilities.... tons of XP per hour.
well the lancer and all the new max AV weapons are supposed to be weaker longer ranged alternatives.
FUCKING YES !!!!!!

Don't become excited yet. Mines have render issues. So lights can be kind of... useless.
So uh. The harrasser's vulcan can kill an ESF in like 1 second and a liberator in less than two clips
Why would anyone equip a walker on it
And as I imagined as far as the TR AV max goes I don't see the point of using it instead of HA or AV turret. Kind of like anything else the tr max does, actually.
Some critical bugs I've found...
1. Grenade bandolier cert is compeltely broken, it no longer works
2. Same for auto-repair on scythe. Not sure ifs broken globally for all aircraft though
The enitre attachment system in general might be totally broken though, who knows. My suit/vehicle mods (the above two the only ones ive tried though) no longer seem to work
[editline]2nd May 2013[/editline]
XP pop bonuses seem HUGE now too which is nice
at around 24% of population TR has a +32% xp boost, and we have a +14% xp boost at 32% pop

Good thing you can't equip the vulcan then

Also how come nobody even mentioned that they added lumifier for the harasser? I saw it in one video or something, that's it.

Well you can equip it in VR, so that's silly
lumifiber was mentioned in the patch notes somewhere

The harasser item pack you can buy costs about 2k SC, you save 255 SC, what a rip-off. Especially since you pay for the fury which was nerfed, I'd rather get the bulldog. Also the halberd only costs 250 certs, much better to buy it with that.
I have had fun with the Harasser it is really fun but I wish there was a new passive to cert into so I could lower the cost of resources. 200 seems kinda high. If I could dump 500 - 1000 certs into making is 150 resources it would make me happy.
I'm saving up to get the halberd. AT 250 certs its a good cheap at weapon. It also one shots infantry.
