Well, their patches also don't list all of the changes made. It's sort of sneaky and underhanded. They are getting more and more open on changes at least.
Does anyone here really like the Basilisk? It seems people are eager to replace it as soon as possible but I always go on big killstreaks when I get in one. None of the people I play with like it.
Basalisk got buffed a bunch recently and its actually pretty damn good
I've always liked the Basilisk. I usually didn't equip it though because most people would jump out at the start of a fire fight unless it's a halberd.
Apparently the PPA goes through gate shields?? During the amp station alert on matherson the TR were bumrushing Kawakie or whatever on Amerish (us glorious vanu were defending), and literally had a sundy right outside the gate with no joke around a HUNDRED infantry swarming out of it trying to zerg the gate gens and stuff. I got like 50 certs in 15 minutes just from the PPA shooting into the masses, and best part is the shots went through the gate making it a delicious slaughter farm fest
game fucking up for any of you guys? It gets to 75% loaded and crashes for me. Only did this after some hotfix or something.
Fuck I really wish they had never changed the vehicle-pilot mechanic. It was really fun back in planetside when I could almost exclusively play armor or air support, and they had the pilot class. The pilot class was the only class able to drive vehicles, and there was not a dumb vehicle resource or 15 minute countdown timers to get a vehicle. Now I am in a squad trying to defend a base being overrun by the vanu, and my vanguard gets eaten by a million saron HRBs, then I take out my lightning, that dies too, and woohoo I now need to probably wait half an hour before actually being able to play armor again. Also I liked the whole thing where you used certs to unlock specific vehicles, instead of where everyone can get any vehicle, but you need a lot of certs to change them, and a lot of the previously independent vehicles were lumped into others.
I just want Empire Specific Sunderers back. Give me my 6 cannon truck back.
That just looks silly.
I really wish there was a utility slot or something where you could reduce the number of overall seats in favor of putting more guns on the sunderer. It would be cool seeing a sunderer driving around as more of a threat than a target.
I remember I quit this game because I kind of never had anyone to play with, I just followed the zerg which got boring because it was just a hundred people flinging their corpses at the walls of other fortresses until ten people from an organized group rolled up and wiped them all out. Wish I had like fifty friends.

I love flying that thing as is.

It makes more sense to have 3 people per Sunderer, and to get more Sunderers than having one of them full. Or give passive buffs to a fuller Sunderer, like more speed or a bit of shield. Same thing with the Galaxy. Not a big gripe, but it just seems off to me. And every passenger needs a dot in the center of their screen, to spot things. That's been bothering me too.
Nobody used the Sunderer in PS1 except for the EMP ability of the ES variants and had two seats for MAXes. It was impossible to miss, slow, handled like crap, didn't do much damage, and had a long timer. 7 players wasted on a glorified Deliverer. They'd just take three assault buggies or three tanks.
all aboard the bangbus because you're all about to get fucked
Can't WAIT for them to replace the firing sounds of vehicle fitted grenade launchers so they sound more like a crack or thunk then the messy, stupid sound we have now.
Briggs Alerts in a nutshell [T]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/595901442497870407/8B4434F70D84EDE487E269FFE2B102E84E8DAF99/[/T] Seriously, SOE needs to fix this 4th Factioner shit.
Depends what you mean by 4th faction and how to fix it. I've heard literally hundreds of players complaining about 4th factioning on every faction on Briggs. It just seems to be some mythical issue that will make game good if fixed.
4th factioning is when people who hate losing switch to the winning faction, resulting in one (or 2) factions being majorly underpopped and one being majorly overpopped. It ruins all good fights and turns alerts into boring drags for everyone involved. One fix that I believe could work is locking people to their current character during an alert.
That doesn't even happen though? Personally I think the real issue is that people who are getting shit on don't want to play anymore, so you lose your pop.
That doesn't even happen though? Personally I think the real issue is that people who are getting shit on don't want to play anymore, so you lose your pop.
But it does happen, as clearly shown by that screenshot. You are lucky to get 1 good alert in a week. The rest are steamrolling snoozefests.
But it does happen, as clearly shown by that screenshot. You are lucky to get 1 good alert in a week. The rest are steamrolling snoozefests.
You've got serious issues with VS and TR if they all swap to NC for those sweet certs in an alert. How often do you guys swap to that character you never use for the cert gain when your faction starts losing anyway? 0? I'll agree the alerts are a waste of time on Briggs but mainly because they'll be on Esamir or Amerish 2/3rds of the time and those battles are always shitty.

If TR is winning, everyone switches to TR. If VS are winning, everyone switches to VS. If NC are winning, everyone switches to NC. It is a major problem that needs to be fixed for alerts to actually do more than reward people for switching factions.
That doesn't even happen though? Personally I think the real issue is that people who are getting shit on don't want to play anymore, so you lose your pop.
This 4th faction is pointless when you earn points for a character you don't even really play, especailly considering the change to where you pretty much get jack shit for winning an alert unless you stay there the whole time The reality is people just simply don't want to play when they are getting steamrolled so the pops become fucked except for the people who are winning, which allows the steamroll to happen. Happened on matherson yesterday for Vanu, I think we only managed to control one amp station the whole alert because hardly any of our good outfits were on which meant we were losing already and then nobody really wanted to play under those conditions.

It happens in every FPS from tf2 to call of duty, most of them get around it by having some kind of autobalance system but if the game were to suddenly just kill you when you were about to win an alert and say "Well you're on vanu now fucker!" how would you feel? Or worse still if you died and were locked out of that character until population balance was restored? What could you possibly suggest that would undo this mindset wthout causing people to dogpile on the underdog faction to get the rebalance incentives, causing things to go the other way?
or how about they bring back 1 faction 1 server like it was in the pre-alpha
or how about they bring back 1 faction 1 server like it was in the pre-alpha
That kind of fucks over Aus though. I like to play both TR and NC and I'd rather not do that with 300+ ping.
Just started playing after a friend has begged me for months, never really saw the appeal. But god damn have I loved every second so far. Following the rush in a full on charge steamrolling through caps, only for the other faction to suddenly turn out in a whole fleet of armour is madness. I mostly play engie as it seems a good all rounder, help out with the repair tool, throw down some ammo and a turret and hope for the best! Shame all the customisation stuff is SC credits.
But it does happen, as clearly shown by that screenshot. You are lucky to get 1 good alert in a week. The rest are steamrolling snoozefests.
That picture doesn't prove anything.
It is more likely that rather than switching sides in a a losing battle, they just go do something else. (My time is far too valuable to be spent on getting angry and upset.) Which does make the winning side's numbers seem bigger in comparison.
