Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

I'm relatively new to planetside 2, so excuse me if this is a dumb question:
If I unlock a rifle that is avaiable on all classes for the Light Assault trooper, will it be unlocked for every other class or do I have to unlock the same rifle on every class that I plan to use it?

Weapons are universal for that character.
If you buy say, a NS-7 SMG with certs, you'll be able to use it on all your classes on that character.
If you buy the NS-7 with Station Cash, you'll be able to use it on all your classes on every character.
The Station Cash purchases works the same for faction specific weapons, it's just limited to characters of that faction.
[editline]3rd February 2014[/editline]
Vehicle weapons, however, aren't universal, as you're basically buying individual turrets.
Buying a Fury on a Harasser, for example, only lets you use the Fury on the Harasser.
On vehicles with multiple turrets, buying a weapon only unlocks it for that turret slot. If I were to buy a Basilisk for the front gun on my Sunderer, I would only be able to put it on the front - the back wouldn't be available.
Station Cash purchases for vehicle weapons work much the same as infantry weapons, though with the above limitations added. I bought a Fury on my Harasser with SC, so I can use it on all my characters. But if I were to buy a Kobalt with SC on my Prowler, I could only put the Kobalt on Prowlers.
SC purchases are also account-wide, assuming the item you have is available for that faction. For example the NS-7 PDW is "Nanite Systems", thus available for all factions and thus all your characters. But lets say you buy the MSW-R(TR HA LMG) for SC it will only be available on your TR characters on that account. Cert purchases are always only for that one character. Every item says "XX only" or "Available for all factions".
I had been told the skyguard was over preforming, so I parked one at tawrich and I got 12 mossie kills.
I feel so dirty.
AA is very situational. Sometimes you scare everyone away the second you click LMB and nobody comes back, sometimes you get three angry outfits trying to airstrike your place for 30 min straight and you just holla in the certs.

That's what happened, it's why I feel dirty, I left for 5 seconds to get ammo and when I got back the sky was full of mossies. Then a couple minutes later the sky was completely clear.
Not a single one could even align in time for a bombing run, and the range I could hit them at, situational dedicated AA tank or not that's just crazy.
Love all the BR100 ace pilots on reddit crying over Coyote missiles because it makes it so their throne of being the only ESF's flying in the sky is no longer as relevant.
Its nice that flying in this game has a level of mastery to it, but the skill curve of ESF usage is way fucked. Right now, if you aren't a BR100 ace pilot you might as well not be in the sky at all, because you simply will not last more than a 10-15 seconds the moment an ace flies in your area and pulls of hard to master tricks that make him impossible to take down. Especially since the nosegun is extremely damaging if you manage to land every shot already, giving you no room for error.
I consider myself a decent pilot - I can do the reverse manuver crudely but I'm not pro at it. Everytime I fly in a zone with air supriority fighter enemy, chances are its a BR100 ace and I don't even bother flying anymore.
Now that gals are a big deal, the air game has really blown up which is nice. But it also means I just don't bother flying at all in fights where the enemy is using lots of gals because there WILL be ace pilots there, who destroy you in less than 10 seconds. Instead the best thing to do is just spam bursters and skyguards, its the only real counter.
It just sucks that all the A2A fighting fun is pretty much exclusively for people who are masters at it, because otherwise you lose immediately.
reverse maneouver shouldn't be a thing
it's silly
I'm guessing the camos are locked to their systems right? Like if I buy NC camo 1 for a gun i'm guessing it doesn't let me use NC Camo 1 on vehicles and characters? The naming seems really specific. If it is a universal unlock though i'm gonna bust out my debit card in a sec.

The only "aces" that complain about the coyotes are the ones that refuse to adapt. Coyotes are dodgeable, that's a fact. And when they cry about how impossible they are to dodge and how skilless they are, all they prove is that they definately are not worthy of any "ace" title.
ps godsaw is stupid

Is it worth spending 1000 certs on one of the NC shotguns? I can't really tell the difference between them but I want to work my way to my first 1000 certs because I love shotguns in shooters, and they all seem powerful in VR, but I'm not sure which one is good/bad

Jackhammer if you're heavy, a semi auto one if you're not. Also note that any weapon seems 10 times better in the VR than it actually is. Shotguns have the odd behavior of not spreading pellets around the center of your crosshair, but instead it randomly picks a point in your cone of fire and spreads the pellets around that point. It's essentially a double COF.

Well, I prefer playing engie over most other classes, so would the LA39 bruiser be a good choice?
I just got a little notification thing that said I was eligible for double station cash. How often does that happen? I can't find much on it online.

So did I. I dunno.
Oh that was fun. Managed to sneak behind a big group of infiltrators and kill most of them without them noticing me, and I killed a bunch of others as well, and I retreated to a quiet area. Then I heard a noise, turned around, and saw a liberator skidding across the ground towards me.
It ran me over and I died :v:

A mate of mine used to get spammed by that like every couple days. I've never seen it though so I always assumed you didn't get it if you'd already bought station cash.

I'd rather go with the Mauler. It's a whole lot cheaper and overall more effective. A Pump-action means you have to land the shot or die. the semi-auto will allow you to clean an entire room, and you can stille OHK people with headshots.

I'd definitely go Bruiser over claw, getting a more consistent damage is better than a ROF imho.

Are you a member? Could be their "bonus" for us not getting many passive certs.
I think they should just make flying super easy to do, like just let everybody fly in forward and reverse directions. Like a flying magrider, aiming mostly around the same altitude as itself. Then aiming would be easier too. It'd be a lot more bland, but more familiar. Though, people do enjoy zipping around like a fighter, so that would screw them. They could split them up as options, but they don't seem to like putting out vehicles.
Ah well, until things change I'll just continue to be ground based AA.
I really hate the way shotguns feel in PS2. Some of them might be good at what they do but they still feel awful to me, especially the pump actions. They need to be louder and look more powerful when they do stuff. They lack oomph. The pump actions even manage to make the pump boring, and that's the best part about pump action shotguns.

I have to agree. But guns in general in this game lack feel IMO.

This site is kinda fun
http://ps2ranks.brb.dj/
It gives player points for killing other players, and removing points for dying. You get more points the higher ranked the target you killed, and you lose more the worse your killer is. According to this I'm top 1.3% of the playerbase.

I would have loved to see a shotgun designed more along the lines of the one from Halo for the NC. The ones they have manage to pull off that almost-but not quite design of a characteristic PA shotgun design.
There is also very very little variation among semi auto/auto shotguns. Most of them, minus the high cap one have the same muzzle velocity and the exact same damage. Turning the Fast reload "low spread" semi auto into something resembling what actual shotguns are capable of would be fine with me.
That, and adding a choke attachment and making different types of ammo could really breathe some life into the weapon. Having a special slug for instance that reduced the mag capacity but had some sort of special shield burst effect where it would disable shields for like a second or two in a 3-4m radius would be pretty neat.
Right now there is almost no reason to use slugs the way they are intended. The drop on them, the shit-slow velocity and RoF hindering mechanics like spread and recoil make it nearly impossible to kill people at range. And that was before they got nerfed to hell. You're better off using buckshot in nearly every scenario the shotgun retains a respectable TTK at.
Most weapons really could use some more customisation.
I still re-iterate that the heavy weapons such as the jackhammer and lasher and MCG need to be made to feel and look heavy.
Bcause currently it's hard to tell them apart from an assault rifle and they all sound like throwing marshmallows around... cept the MCG but it still looks stupid.
The NC guns feel great. I wish the Mercenary was in every FPS I played :v:

Currently NC heavy guns are my favourites. Both GODSAW and Jackhammer are awesome guns, with a ton of feel in them. I haven't used that many other NC weapons so I don't really know about them(Aside from their SMGs which feels great too). VS guns feels weird and could use better looks. TR guns sounds like peashooters, hit like peashooters, aim like peashooters and feel like peashooters. I'm not saying they're underpowered, but they feel like crap.

this doesn't make sense, how can 1499 be 99.5% better than all other players when the average for all other players in 1506
