Any who complained about Vanu using lots of Max's should use opur LMG's for a while and compare them to the likes of the Gauss Saw and the MCG.
For direct Heavy assault it's pretty much our best option.

I know it's on the test server, but those damage values are p underwhelming. For ES snipers I would have figured they would have given the NC an above average damage per shot out to medium ranges.
I also really, REALLY hope they don't fuck up the shotgun firemode and say lol no effective range 20m even though it has a god damn MASSIVE barrel. Hoping for a spread equal to or a little better than jackhammer.
Oh, I also forgot to ask the most important question: Can you actually use it? I see they have what looks like another NS SMG in the works as well as a new NS sniper. Are the crossbows in yet?

It actually has a pretty tight choke on the shotgun mode.
It's usable, but right now it's pretty buggy - there are no sights, so you just zoom in like on the MCG. There's no firing sounds either.
The NS sniper is unfinished, and basically acts like a semi-auto NS11.
Crossbows are in. Pistol slot, 3 bolts per mag, 2 to kill. Can be fitted with sights, a flashlight, and standard/explosive/detector bolts.
Wow, I have the weirdest bug on my new PC. If I'm in a magrider and I start getting attacked my PC will blackscreen and I'll lose all audio. When it happens I have no option other than restarting my PC.
I found similar reports on the forums but they're a year old...

The explosive bolts sound cool, but otherwise it really doesn't sound as versatile or useful as a regular pistol or the commissioner. I guess the real value is in the different bolt types.

Yeah, since it's pump-action it has a pretty slow TTK. It'd be good (with explosive bolts) for infiltrators that already have some ridiculous death machine like the Sirius as their primary weapon.

So far the Empire specific rifles seem very underwhelming. It is the test server, so all that is probably going to change in a heartbeat but still.
The TR rifle takes 3 bursts to kill things at up close, and at range and has a ridiculous description saying it utilizes technology to make for faster moving bullets. At a whopping 470 mps. lol.
All in all at this stage it feels very VERY much more like an assault rifle than a sniper rifle. Which isn't entirely a bad thin since it's a TR weapon.
The NC rifle will probably see some changes as it does identical damage as every other bolt action in the game (maybe even less than the close range bolts) and the secondary fire [I][B]IS NOT[/B][/I] a tight choke, and is in fact probably the worst spread out of all the shotguns. From a crouching stance, you couldn't even kill regular infantry at 20m in a single magazine.
I don't know how many it does take to kill them, because the targets would actually despawn by the time I fired 5 shots at them. So that will probably see some sort of change.
The VS sniper was just sort of 'meh' with it's charge up ability only really being useful at long ranges, at which point you should just use a bolt action.
The weapons I am MOST excited for are the NS sniper rifle and the new NS SMG.
The NS sniper hits the same as other semi-auto rifles up close but does an additional 20 damage at 85m which is nice. The NS SMG has a built in surpressor and supposedly boasts the highest surpressed damage of the smgs.
I'm super stoked for the NC rifle just out of pure versatility out of it.
I wonder how different the new NS SMG will be from the current one.

Shotguns are the sole reason NC maxes are so terribad.
I don't think shotguns make a MAX that bad. Whenever I play MAX I'm almost always close enough to people that a shotgun would have no issue hitting. Unless I'm going after vehicles, which the NC MAX is perfectly fine at.
I feel like using a MAX in big areas is a waste.
Except MAXes operate by absolute majority in locations where shotguns are an extreme advantage. The only downside are out on more open ground but you much less rarely pull a MAX there anyway. And the jackhammer is fucking incredible.
Imagine a max with railguns :v:

Ugh, turns out my crash issue isn't a magrider problem, it's just when I play the game for a decent period of time but I was in a magrider every time it happened previously.
This is a new crash for me, it completely locks up my machine. My temps are fine and no other games are giving me issues. God damn.
The only times the game ever crashes for me is always conveniently just minutes before alerts end. I can't think of a single crash that I've ever had that wasn't within 20 minutes of an alert ending.

Why does everyone say that NC have shotguns on everything? Apart from the standard shotgun equivalents everyone has, they have one infantry heavy weapon, one ground vehicle mounted weapon, and one airborne heavy weapon.
That's it. On top of that, I almost never see someone use the ground based vehicle shotgun on their secondary weapon slot. Other than that, their infantry use shotguns just about as frequently as all the other factions.
