Sick of this weapon lock bollocks. When defending Biolabs against the NC, I lock down at the back of a room and watch a doorway that the enemy Maxes always walk through, and surpress it with Pounders to prevent them from crashing us. But there are always idiots that go "HURR ME RAMBO" and stand right in the doorway, and refuse to budge, or that run infront of my while firing and giving me weapon lock.
i've gotten 6 1 hour boosts from wds watch as my 2k reward is another 3
These people are worse than violent cultists.
They're fine if you're a medic.
You don't get healing/revive points if the person was killed/wounded by friendly fire.
You do get ribbons though for some reason.
Just unlocked the Uppercut and it is just so good. 1 shot close range, tight spread and incredibly satisfying to shoot.
Just unlocked the Uppercut and it is just so good. 1 shot close range, tight spread and incredibly satisfying to shoot.
lol what do you guys call a tight spread? the other guy called the current spread for the NC sniper tight and it's useless past 10m. The uppercut has the same spread as the barrage +1 pellet, making it useless past 30m. The only time it is really effective is at the 10-15m range where you can still two hit people with that glacial refire rate.

And it 1-shots people in the 10-15 meter range, the only times when you have to 2-shot them is if you only graze them with a few pellets.

That and the fact that it can hold 10 shells with extended mags vs the pump shotguns 6? I know they are two different weapon niches but coming at it from just basic utility, SOE really kind of fucked over pumps. Hold the fucking phone. After writing up that last but about semi auto shotguns vs pumps, I decided to go to the VR room and try them out again. I had spent about 100+ hours using my barrage and had been up to date with the various nerfs for a while. But what the FUCK have they done to them? Semi auto shotguns that do 50 FUCKING damage per pellet past 18m on top of an already PISS AWFUL spread? You can't even fucking hit a target consistently at 20m for what amounts to a 4 shot kill with buckshot anyways. Is this some fucking hairbrained attempt to make slugs more relevant? An Ammo type which no one uses because they are so fucking difficult and unrewarding to use to use in the first place? They reduced the damage fall off on them, reduced their velocity twice, what the fuck is the point of using them? FUCK! I remembered why I actually stopped using shotguns in this game because SOE doesn't know shit about how to actually design them in a way that they aren't just point blank KO cannons like in the fucking 90s.
the only benefit over other shotguns is that they have is sheer stopping power at close range.
But that's kind of the point though. They trade off being slightly more flexible in other areas for going all out on the close-combat niche. [editline]10th February 2014[/editline] And really, I think if you're going with the other shotguns for having a faster RoF and range you might as well just grab a close range LMG, carbine or even an SMG and not have the inconvenience of pellet spread at all for longer ranges while still maintaining a good (granted, not as good as a shotgun) TTK up close.

Any shotgun that isn't a 1hKO at this point or isnt being used at point blank is fucking worthless.
Just unlocked the Uppercut and it is just so good. 1 shot close range, tight spread and incredibly satisfying to shoot.
Say, do you play in Woodman? There's been a particular someone from another faction I've been meeting there that kept greeting me with that gun.
If shotguns had a tighter spread then they'll become pretty much carbines. Specialized, short-range carbines. Another gun that performs decently in most situations. I don't want more damage/range tweaked carbines.
Say, do you play in Woodman? There's been a particular someone from another faction I've been meeting there that kept greeting me with that gun.
Briggs I'm afraid.
Specialized, short-range carbines. Another gun that performs decently in most situations.
That sounds a bit paradoxical, don't you think? As for tightening the spread on shotguns; I wouldn't tighten the spread on all of them. Just one type. Also, how would they be like carbines? Aside from being most effective at the low end of carbine ranges, the mechanics of the weapons are totally different. Being able to retain some semblance of accuracy at that range at the cost of damage or rof or capacity would be fine. It's just really, really fucking silly that you can't kill a stationary target while ADS, crouched and not moving at 20m with 3-4 shotgun shells. That's absurd. It's like we're using futuristic blunderbusses. Anyways, that's just my opinion. I've calmed myself for now by creating a loadout for the bruiser that a playstyle I have been having a lot of fun with lately: glass cannon. I've been running around with the scopeless bolt actions with the infiltrator and a 3.4x or 4x scopes just trying to get as many headshots as possible. It's surprisingly fun and rewarding. So my loadout for the Bruiser is going to be: 3.4x crosshair, extended mags, and slugs. I can 1HKO out to about 15 meters, and can 2 shot outside of that if I land a headshot. So we will see how that goes.
Briggs I'm afraid.
Ah, good. I won't feel bad sniping the cheeky bastard if I meet him again, then.
I want them to change the COF behavior on shotguns. Right now they have a double COF. First the engine decides a point within your normal COF, then it randomizes your pellets around that point. Therefor you can land all headshots if you aim at a person's chest, or land bodyshots/miss when you aim at the head. I think it should be an even spread around your center crosshair.
I may have only started playing this week, but from what I remember of the beta. this WDS stuff is killing the game. I can't find good battles. It's all huge steamroll fests or empty bases. I don't find capping an empty base fun, as it amounts to over 5 minutes of doing nothing and being paranoid. Even when there aren't alerts. As a bad player, the huge fights do not yield me many combat points, so I'm stuck to repeatedly healing people or repairing people in a corner while 80 tanks fire at me from a distance. That said, at about 2AM last night, I was stuck in biolab repairing four max units for two hours. I activated a one hour boost and ended up making 80 certs from just repairing without ever leaving a shielded room. [editline]10th February 2014[/editline] That means I have half the required certs to unlock medic revive grenades after four days of almost non stop playing. Woohoo!
Yeah WDS turned into RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH ok change continent
I wish that MAX Lumifibre was available in the store... My Wub-Wub rampage is incomplete without appropriate disco lighting. Also I'd like to see some new Anti-Infantry weapons for the MAX... along with the Abilities given being changed or replaced... The ZoE was boring to begin with, and when did you last, if ever, see a TR max use lockdown? I have seen some SheildMax's from time to time... but those are rare little snowflakes that seem to exist just to facetank rockets while an engineer buddy keeps him invincible., not actually doing anything useful.
and when did you last, if ever, see a TR max use lockdown?
Actually, I'll have you know that I saw two TR MAX units using Lockdown today, defending the Crown. They stopped firing quite frequently because people kept running in front of them and triggering FF cooldown. As far as I can tell, that is very common when it comes to Lockdown. As is being horribly blown up before you can move. [editline]10th February 2014[/editline] On the subject of TR, they've always been my favorite of the three factions and I don't know why. It's definitely not their ideology; spehs muhreens 2.0 are great and all, but it's not like they're more noble than the other two. Reading around, I've come to realize that generally TR and underpopped or getting steamrolled, yet still manage to put up a fight. When everyone decides to stack NC or VS, the few TR can hold their own for a while. 15% TR population actually won an alert two days ago. Imagine a future in which the TR population is in the single digits. As NC and VS wage war on every front, trying to take the shining red TR warpgate, those reinforcements from earth finally come. In a barrage of true patriotism, they cleanse the battlefield and take the run down veterans back home. Meanwhile, zergsperg steamroll trains are ghostcapping.
lockdown is a joke and no max should use it.
Yeah WDS turned into RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH ok change continent
There seems to be platoons of NC just whizzing around the continents and capping things then letting them get cut off from the rest of the lattice rather than just fucking helping sensible folk actually do anything of worth.
We're discussing your feedback from the 1st weekend of WDS preseason 2, will have some changes to announce later today. Thanks!
Yay! https://twitter.com/mhigby/status/432955543687139328
Maybe defenders will be rewarded handsomely. I can defend for half an hour, and get no reward because we lost. Yet the steamrollers who have 15% higher pop than the other two factions are rolling in WDS for nowhere near the same amount of effort I put in. [editline]10th February 2014[/editline] It's so hard to have fun. I picked a terrible time to start.
Don't bother trying hard to do what the team should do. Just do what you enjoy. If you're not digging defending, try offense.
lockdown is a joke and no max should use it.
Its wonderful for Biolab fights. Level 3+ Pounder Max on a doorway is scary, just as long as idiots don't get in your way.
Don't bother trying hard to do what the team should do. Just do what you enjoy. If you're not digging defending, try offense.
This p much. I rarely listen to platoon or squad leader micro commands anymore. I go where they want me to go and then p much do whatever I want. Case in point: We were defending against an approaching VS zerg. Our squad and platoon leader told us to stay at one of the generators the opposite side of where the attack was coming from. About 10 minutes into the attack and only like 1 or 2 enemies attempting to take it at a time. Fuck this I said and joined in the actual fighting. Turns out that side of the facility saw ZERO attack for the rest of the 30 minute fight.
Any people here who play on Connery getting extreme lag issues? You know stuff like deployed Sunderers sliding along the ground, powers taking forever to activate/not even responding, people flying and disappearing and the loading bar keeps looping on 32% whenever I try to log out, forcing me to manually close the game. Anyone else getting this?
