Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

Instead of the NC sniper being itscan, what if overclocked Magnets meant alt fire ha better armour pecing and did bonus damage to MAX's
Not instakill, but something significant, enough to give MAX's cause for concern and go to cover.
Possibly even do damage to light vehicles and lighning tanks.
I would prefer we avoid vehicle damaging weapons for sniper rifles.
True... but I was more thinking along the lines of 1-3 hits from the basic vehicle autocannon.
Even so, it was more for doing bonus damage to MAX units.
I hate that they got rid of ADS while jetpacking..
I couldn't do ADS with the jetpack. The gun blocked my entire screen.
I do miss being able to fire lockons while popping around launch-pads, but I understand that was not okay.
ADS with a jetpack wasn't easy but it was certainly a lot more accurate then just hip firing.
I did get a fair few kills while ADS with a jetpack.
Any tips to someone starting out? I played a bit yesterday but felt really lost. Just getting owned a lot.

Use your allies as meat shields.
Is it just me, or does both hunter and stalker not have the better level of cloaking while standing still on PTS? If that's intended cloaking is going to be even more trash.
Am I the only one that wishes that if you knifed someone from behind it'd be an instant kill? Sometimes I walk up behind infiltrators and such sniping and want to silently kill them with a knife, but it takes two hits and... just doesn't feel satisfying.
Only from behind though.

I just shoot them in the head or chest with my Commissioner and then immediately press the knife button. Instantly kills them because the knife does damage the same instant you press the key. :v:

(post-alert celebrations)
TR never has these.
TR never has these.
I haven't had a post alert celebration as TR yet, just an overwhelming sense of "How did we win when outnumbered on both sides" followed by pride.
We actually managed to defend this. All it took was three squads dedicated to healing and reviving maxes, with a lot of heavy assaults to fill in the gaps.

I knife first then shoot them with the fireworks gun.
Just to highlight how much i hate you, you little slimey root placed overcompensating bastard!

But then you pop up on the map.
Also, I don't have certs to buy nice fancy guns, it takes so long :suicide:
anyone else got their WDS points reset?

Slap a silencer on a pistol and fire like, 2 rounds and knife. Anybody that reacts fast enough to get you before another shot and knife would pretty much have to be cheating.
I don't know why you guys are complaining about the NC rifle, its not really that bad in practice. What is going to make snipers godly is that bolt-action cert for it that basically makes it so you don't have to rescope after every shot. This is going to make shooting moving targets MUCH easier, and sniping in closer ranges easier too.
I'm neutral on that issue because it's not like you could actually hit anything reliably anyway.
What does piss me off, though, is that I get kicked out of ADS every time my character steps on a pebble on the ground. I don't understand how SOE thought this was acceptable.
My biggest problem with them removing ADS is that I used it all the time as a means of recon with my IRNV (especially if I threw smoke first), and drifters rely on this a lot seeing as they have so much air time. I also used it to prepare to shoot someone the moment I landed. I.E. going ADS in the air and then firing when I landed for accuracy.
Now you can't do either of those, for no real good reason.

TBH the only reason why it happened was because at the last few minutes, an outfit hopped on while we only had one point to capture the biolab, and they managed to capture it with less than 1 minute left on the alert by basically super max-crashing all the points and ignoring the SCU entirely.
I had so many recon dart assists it was insane.
Uhg, bored right now. Just a dull tug of war between 2-3 territories. They'll roll in and steam roll our attacking infantry force with loads of tanks, and when they press forward our air tower's turrets will wipe them out, then we'll press forward and get romped by an outfit who will then proceed to all leave at once, and well push back, get closed to winning, and then get murdered by airstrikes, etc.
And then an alert starts and half the continent empties.
Does it kill in one hit if it hits the head?
Yup.
anyone else got their WDS points reset?
Yes, they reset each week. Hence "Weekly Contribution Points".
you'll notice there's still 2 days remaining in "the week" according to the scoreboard timer
[editline]11th February 2014[/editline]
and the empire weekly counters haven't reset either
I get killed more by VS snipers than by NC to be honest, because their snipers dont have drop which is particularly an advantage for semi autos.
For me it's always NC snipers, because they start with the Bolt-Driver (which in my opinion is the best starting rifle) there are a ridiculous amount of low BR players sitting somewhere waiting to get get their one kill before I find them and shove my Jaguar down their throat.
I think it's because NC starts with a bolt action. That said, i do love the VS starter rifle, using it as a medium-range suppression tool.
I'm sure those spawnroom champions love the starting snipers as well.
As NC, I can say I hate our snipers too. Instead of helping take back the point they just sit in spawn taking pot shots and walking infront of HA's and get shot.
I would prefer we avoid vehicle damaging weapons for sniper rifles.
Yeah I played C&C Renegade and it had a sniper rifle that raped vehicles called the Ramjet. It was not fun.
Mattherson NC finally dominated a tech plant alert, it was glorious.
This ^^^
I can't speak for VS as I play as VS, but the NC have a massive amount of snipers compared to the TR.
The TR tend to have fewer, more experienced snipers while the NC has truckloads of less experienced snipers.
This wouldn't normally be a problem because their lack of experience would render them a lesser threat but they start with the BoltDriver which is the only starting sniper rifle that can kill in one hit - and landing headshots (once at least) is not that hard. The result is fighting the NC is just an endless stream of sniper bullets all whizzing for my face.
And now there will be this new rifle which will make it even easier to score headshots - effectively allowing the lesser skilled players to also get headshots consistently.
As a VS player I find TR infiltrators tend to actually infiltrate. They tend to sneak up and cap objectives/overload generators, plant a mine and then snipe the bugger who comes after the first dumb bit of zergmass that tries to fix it blows himself up on the very hard to spot large popup stick wth giant red lasers on the front.
I got the MCG. It's fun. Also daily note saying that the TR is boring, bland and doesn't have the highest ROF.

People don't appreciated being rolled over by friendly tanks or Sundys. Bear that in mind to save the flaming.
