Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

So is the planet these guys fighting over
like
just some planet they found?
I know the little snippets of backstory they fed release had like three gigantic space ships just drifting through space, then one was blown up by the NC I think, but I didn't read past that.
NC obtained control of Amerish just now
I overheard a faction member say this before :v
I shit you not VS and NC were working side by side to take the Vanu Archives yesterday. We had the pads locked down and then suddenly I hear laughing over platoon chat and see a bunch of lightnings sitting besides NC tanks and a sunderer, both completely ignoring eachother and just pelting us with explosions.
It was horrible. About 15 minutes later there was just an "oh fuck" and "look at the map." There were more maxes than I have ever seen. I think that's when their alliance broke, as the interiors turned in to a huge NC/VS MAX clusterfuck with TR desperately trying to push back (which we eventually did, by rolling in prowlers across the bridge and destroying countless sundies)
Let's not forget that KOTV on Woodman is in NC AND VS.

Are they? I always hated KOTV.
Are they in ORBS too?
Yeah I've often noticed that when the TR roll in the NC and VS get pretty fucking shady and pull some low shit like working together.
I've discovered my ballmer peak when playing planetside 2 is best achieved with a single blue moon
During its effect I become god like at using my semi-auto scout rifle with hunter cloak enough to systematically annhilate an entire room of baddies

Basically back on earth they discovered a wormhole that would open and close every 100 years or something, they had the bright idea of sending a shit load of colonization ships through it. And lo and behold shit went wrong, a lot ships exploded, and they got locked out in unknown space.
Auraxis unless I'm mistaken was the first habitable planet they found after floating around for years and shit on the ships going to hell.

Yeah, just exploded. These were NC terrorists on corporate payroll who did this.
So to put a little more detail into it: After hundreds of years of fighting, the Terran Republic was formed. It was entirely democratic and favored transparency and all that good stuff. It was p cool. There were rumors of alien artifacts and contact and things like that being discussed and talked about in secret by one particular individual who was a savant who worked with the TR and the TR president was especially interested in this.
This proved fortuitous as at some point there was a transmission sent from outside the solar system that left a cryptic message or something just shortly before some sort of cosmic anomaly started happening on the fringes. The TR, the scientists and a large collection of interested corporations assembled a massive fleet to investigate the wormhole, not knowing how long it would remain stable.
While they went through the wormhole it began collapsing, obliterating about half the fleet. After that they roamed from planet to planet trying to find a place to live while things on the ships started to deteriorate. The TR president had died in the wormhole incident and the remaining TR had gradually started becoming more and more militaristic as the disorganized and shady NC began to stir up trouble. The VS faction elements started to stray away from everything and shit generally began to hit the fan. With the TR/NC bombing the peace talks between the two and other stuff.
Then they found Auraxis and everyone was happy for the next 300 years, until gradual old sentiments and other incidents started working their way to the surface again and everyone hates eachother and think that eachothers guns are OP.
so the TLDR:
The TR have become much more tyrannical than their earth based counterparts. They are trying to unite everyone on auraxis to stop the fighting and bring about peace once again. Naturally what happens to their opposition after the fact is questionable and is probably purge-oriented.
The NC are essentially a confederation of corporations that have survived since they were stranded/landed on auraxis. They are also sort of criminal in orientation and seem to be doing a lot of behind the scenes manipulation of events for their own goal. They claim to be 'Freedom fighters' but it is unclear how genuine they are about the people's personal freedom.
The VS are essentially weirdo cultists that worship aliens and alien technology they do not understand and are in fact being indoctrinated by said technology without their knowledge.

Are there like... civilians somewhere? Or is just everyone a battle-hardened soldier?
Basically the rightful government is trying to put down an uprising by some crazy cultists and corporate shills.
Are there like... civilians somewhere? Or is just everyone a battle-hardened soldier?
I heard some people saying that TR civs live in space stations, NC civs are dwarfs and live in mines, and VS civs are in virtual reality dating their alien waifus.

They all live together and fight the war like a sport.
Was just in a big fight where there are tanks everywhere and people everywhere and I noticed that every other person seemed to have a crossbow with explosive bolts. Before tanks had to put up with heavy assault rocket launchers other tanks and the occasional person trying to run up on them with C4 or engineer using an anti vehicle mana turret but now they have crossbow explosives to avoid too. One guy on his own isn't going to do much but when there are loads of random people just running by firing them at you as well the damage really builds up.
Just funny because now these tank drivers just don't know who to turn and shoot. Maybe it was a platoons working together using them but it was really funny. Best bit was they had most of them as combat medics so when a tank did shoot one of them down someone would just revive them. These tanks got so overwhelmed it was hilarious.

Keep your accusations to your self commie, I was speaking of the catastrophe as they ventured through the wormhole, not the vessel that blew up afterwards as they were drifting through space and shit
You can't prove NC was responsible, that was propaganda ran by the TR security force.
All 3 factions are evil, really.
I actually do not think that the wormhole that the fleet passed through collapsed and caused the destruction of their ships. Instead, I believe that what actually took place was some sort of build up to SS13, which resulted in exactly what you'd expect.
[editline]17th February 2014[/editline]
The AI became sentient and created the VS.
The mimes and underqualified security became NC
The clowns and assistants are all that remain of the Terran people.

what did the Vanu do wrong
they just seem to be like "yaaaaaa technology, can't wait to fuck my waifu"
They just kinda seem... there. They don't really seem like they are the focal tension point of the story.

Well, it is rumored that the very technology that the VS are researching and developing is what had wiped out some dudes a while back. That, and they're actively being brainwashed and indoctrinated by that shit. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bunch of tech-loving grunts just following the orders of some batshit overlords.
Then again, the research that the VS want to be carrying out is getting screwed with by two major warring factions (one of them being treacherous scum known by NC) so they likely feel that the only way they'll be able to continue their research in peace is to stop the war themselves through song and dance and murder.
[editline]17th February 2014[/editline]
By "peace" I mean "indoctrinating everyone".

VS story seems forced as fuck to me. Why would scientist, the people with the most rational thinking ever start a damn cult around a lost alien race?
NC are terrorist scum though and needs to be removed through Unity.

The main guy who started the Vanu seems like he was being affected by the technology. Its probably corrupting their minds through contact or something.
Not to mention that this technology basically gave us immortality (to an extent). That could drive a person mad.

There are plenty of examples in sci fi lore where scientists are either driven mad with power, or are corrupted by the thing they want to create and form a cult worshipping it.
Unitologists in Dead Space, The cult Mechaniucus in WH40k, Bioshock and plenty more in literature and comics.
The idea of people of science and reason slowly succumbing to something they don't understand fully and warping their view of everything to the point of religious fanaticism is a really interesting and eerie subject.
The VS is made up of those original scientists but also deserters from both the NC and TR who put down their arms to the alluring call of the Vanu Sovereignty. In a way, you could almost call them a zombie faction.
Well if you say the leaders have been brainwashed and corrupted by the technology, then it makes a lot more sense.
Well, looking at it now, I'd say the TR are the most... correct faction. But the NC look cooler, have rocking music, and feel the most stereotypical American out of all the factions so I'm just gunna stay with them.

The TR are probably best bet for long term stability among the colonists, but I wouldn't call them the most "correct".

well a stable government is a bit better than corporate dumbasses or Daft Punk.
So I hear you guys like the lore, personally its the best Ive ever read. Here have a video of the official lore, bu the unofficial lore is way cooler, just go to his channel and watch the unofficial lore in order. Really makes you hate and love all 3 factions

The NC were just trying to get back their freedom and the VS were constantly bullied by both factions until they snapped

I've been doing a bit of theory crafting, mainly because people bring up the Mega corporations, which doesn't hold water to be honest. The VS being a Technocratic based Autocracy works just like the TR being a Military Junta.
But everyone forgets that the NC does have a unified policy and armed force, if they didn't the span of weapons being used would be much higher. They have create a state based on a Capitalistic System, with most likely Heavy American Overtones because Rich people fighting for everyone's freedoms is basically the American Revolution. The lore specifically states that over time, that freedom for corporations to do whatever eventually grew into a more, "Everyone should be free to do what they think is best" sort of mentality. Of course, yeah, the corporations would be there but at the very least they're not corporations anymore, they're most likely the state.

Actually, scientists even now are corruptible, they're people. This idea that they can float about the bias they are surrounded by and taught with is romanticism at best.
Anyone who doesn't understand how science can go wrong obviously missed Tesla v Edison. You cannot seperate politics, culture and economy from science. All of these are intrisinically stitched together which either makes the Vanu, a group of scientists who worship science and the Vanu as a religion or a extremely stupid and naive group of scientists who are not prepared to make hard decisions.

That in actually nothing like living in the Terran Republic.
Also, no self-respecting political party would EVER resort to terrorism like the NC did. Killing people, soldiers and civilians alike doesn't reinforce your status as a legitimate contestant for power.
[editline]17th February 2014[/editline]
I find it pretty funny actually, how well the NC propaganda works on people IRL.
They think they are fighting for freedom, going in all guns blazing saving all those poor people from the repressive TR, when in reality all they just puppets fighting for megacorporations whose goal is to actually take domination over the Republic and become what they are fighting against.
