For next week's update, kill assist XP will scale with the amount of damage you've done. #Planetside2
Nice.
What's the system like currently? It seems entirely random for me.

Nice.
This also scales with enemy threat level.
I want assisting with a MAX kill to award bonus points as well as a full kill. Maybe only if it's a critical assist though. It's a small thing but I think I should still be rewarded if I almost take out a MAX on my own and then some guy comes along and kills it at the last second.

Currently, you get about 30-40xp for an assist and about 60-80xp for a critical one. Of course depending on boosts, continent pop etc. this varies a lot. I am not even sure if those values are correct, I have had boosts for so long I have forgotten what it's like to not have one. :v:
without any bonus it's 25xp for normal and 50xp for critical assist.
I like the new empire specific vehicle callouts.
Is any one else having problems with looking down weapon sights since the last patch? Now 9 times out of 10 when I try to look down my sights it'll rapidly switch in and out of ADS a few times before settling and it's starting to piss me off. I can't quite tell whether it's the game or if my RMB is just on its way out.
Not since the last patch, but I've had the issue you're having. It happens to me because I fall off of very short drops, which pulls you out of ADS. So, standing on rubble or uneven rocks could easily cause that.
If it happens when you're standing totally still, then I'd guess it's your mouse. Try doing other things that can require consistently holding right click, like dragging an image around on your desktop. Or aiming in other games.

Nah it happens when I'm standing still or on completely flat surfaces too. My RMB seems fine when doing other stuff plus I tried switching to ADS toggle instead of hold and it still does it, so it seems like that last patch did fuck something up.
They really need to just cut the crap and allow you to spawn at any base you own.
Enabling large outfits to instantly warp across an entire continent to any base at will would not be a good thing. Some outfits already do this to an extent (*cough*FutureCrew*cough*) because of the reinforcement deploy system allowing a big enough window for a force to instantly outpop an attacking force if they all redeploy at the same time. The reinforcement deploy needs to be disabled as soon as population becomes 50/50, so it doesn't go from 40/60 to 80/20 in an instant.
They could allow you to spawn anywhere, but it takes longer to go to far away places. It'd be the same thing, just less load screens. I suppose you could argue it's not the same, since you could sit in death limbo and strike out instantly wherever your clan wanted, but I don't think that'd change much.
Another thing that would help would be more objective based captures. So your team of one billion people can do whatever is needed at a base and move on rapidly, waiting around for only a minute or two. I don't want the wait timer to go away entirely though, because then strange things could happen, like people could snake an army 5 territories deep and cap them basically at the same time.
Jackhammer is on sale now, should I get it? I hear people praising it quite a bit.
I like how it can fit a 6X scope but not slug rounds.
Yes. You should absolutely get it.
The Jackhammer is pretty much the most overpowered gun in the game. You will always win fights at <10m and stand a good chance of spamming your way to victory past that. It's a truly ridiculous gun.
So yeah, buy it.

I'd recommend it even for 700SC so hell yes.
Decided to try out the VS and TR ES snipers after testing the railjack (jack shit :v:), and both are quite nice.
the TR one is neat for close quarters as 2 3X burts get somebody down
the VS one is the ultimate camping weapon due to infinite ammo
What do you guys think of the crossbow? I find it's pretty awesome and fun to use considering it's a secondary, both in terms of power and utility
It's perfect to use with the stalker cloak and for light assaults, just fly somewhere high up and start raining down explosive bolts. So much fun.
The crossbow is really, really good. The explosive bolts destroy air, and allow you to solo libs and galaxies with your two C4 bricks and drifters. Pop the bricks down, empty a clip into the side, then blow it up.

I'd play the fuck outta a Darwinia FPS. My Computer Tower is called Darwinia.

I don't play sniper very often but the feeling i got when testing the trap is that it's an interesting weapon that allows for different options in the battlefield, but it, by no means, should be sold for 1000 certs.
I wonder if they'll ever release a new weapon for anything less than 1000 certs...

probably not, which sucks.
[editline]7th March 2014[/editline]
I think all newly released weapons will start out being 1000 certs and maybe get a price reduction when it's not being bought a whole lot anymore.
So as someone who's never spent money on this game, is there some breaking point at which I should stop trying to farm certs and just buy some Station Cash? Mag Shot/Beamer are getting a little boring and that crossbow looks interesting.

I've only ever used SC to buy SC-only things (bar the rocket pods for the Reaver back when they were batshit OP) and I still have a helluva lot of fun.
Really, I think that you should only spend SC on weapons when you're sure you've found your perfect niche role and/or weapon and you feel that you'll almost never NOT use it.

Well, back to the grind then. I can muster up some more patience.
Can we please have the prowler changed to this?

I really hate how the ESFs fucking handle holy shit.
I think ESF and Flight in general is pretty good.
Only problem I have with it, is that joystick controls don't really work, because of the VTOL nature of the ESF. Once you learn how to fly with mouse & keyboard, it's really great.

I wish there were actual aircraft, none of this hover business.
I did always kinda wish that the air vehicles flew like jets instead of VTOL, It would make air combat a lot less obnoxious in my opinion.
