There's some exciting ideas on the roadmap (eventually). Looks like they will do some new "game modes" for alerts instead of just grabbing turf. Payload style sounds like the first idea that will get tested, so I'm stoked!

I seriously don't believe they will that that much on an impact on gameplay as a whole. I think they will help in small situational circumstances. I don't think they will bridge too much of a gap between experienced and new players either.
it's not the alteration of gameplay I'm too worried about (though I've played with the regeneration implant and, IMO, feels way too powerful. I can easily see it being used the most,) it's really the energy system I hate. I feel like I'll have to constantly worry about wasting energy while, say, walking/driving to the next objective.
to counter this (if SOE doesn't do anything about it,) I might hoard a buttload of implant energy before I actually use any implants, just so I don't have to constantly worry about wasting energy for at least a while.

Okay so since a couple of days ago Planetside 2 has been causing some very odd problems. I can play for an hour or two, maybe less and all of a sudden my screen will suddenly go black, the sound will start looping and just ends up making this "DRRRR" sound, my monitor says "No Signal" and I lose power to my keyboard and mouse. The first time this happened all the fans on my pc went up to full blast but it hasn't done that since, every time this problem occurs I have to manually restart, it's also freshly built, I've only had it for a mere matter of months so I can't be sure if any of the components are dying.
Anyone else had a similar issue?
Please note that this doesn't happen with any other game, no matter how long I play it for. I also checked my PC temperatures whilst playing and it sits around 40-45c which was average for when I was playing the game before, never gets much hotter than that unless I play it for ages.

PS2 does this to me as well, but my computer always manages to recover afterwards, rather than straight-up crashing.
It might have something to do with the GPU crashing. It's got the exact same symptoms of my old card when it crashed.

A friend of mine has this issue
i was playing on my TR alt in a 382 squad and a discussion on the NC was going on so i said the TR are liars and the NC would welcome anyone with open arms
the platoon leader or squad leader or whoever got legitimately angry, saying "fuck this guy" and telling people to TK me and calling me a troll, then he kicked me from the platoon
to make it even better he sounded like he was at least 40 years old, at that point you should probably realize there's something wrong with your life when you're getting that angry over a video game

I get this too... it's like the graphics card gets a case of the vapours so the SPU has to drop whatever shit it's doing to sort it out.

Has anyone heard any interesting news about the new Medic ARs by the way? Roadmap says they are 'in testing', does that mean the test server?
How will the droprate be for those implants if they cost 40 certs a piece?
Is there a way to turn of tells, or the chat? I don't think I've gotten a single non-insulting tell in over a year, and I'm tired of reporting people for shitting on me verbally.
I rarely get tells, but they're 25% positive and 75% negative I guess. Though I see the hate tells as extra joy so they're all positive to me.
It is very rare that I get any hate tells but I get positive tells all the time. I mainly fly and the atmosphere with air combat is generally really nice. Enemy pilots often send tells asking where I am for another duel as it was so fun. I think the competitive side to it makes people more inclined to talk and surprisingly not in a bad way.

As the TR on Amerish Woodman I can confirm that it is entirely possible to spawn camp a warp gate. With a large enough force you can have your enemy completely trapped with no way out.
You would think it is boring but there is a HUGE no mans land area so it makes for interesting combat watching all the vehicles and men trying to run across it and getting gunned down. Also all the tracers flying from side to side looks amazing as everyone is so fanned out on both sides.
I kinda wish I recorded my gameplay of the most recent one it was awesome. You can get shit loads of kills to even as an attacker. Probably less fun on the receiving end.
