• Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

Well that was fun, especially hunting VS cloakers with gunship support, spawnkilling NC's at their own sundie and killing the NC dev over and over untill he enabled godmode. :v: Thanks for the run, lads! [editline]31st August 2014[/editline]
LOYALTY UNTIL DEATH; STRENGTH IN UNITY
Honestly i prefer NC but i don't dislike any of the factions; NC got Swedish colors + coolio gauss weaponry, TR got their whole "Loyalty untill death!"-thing + some epic ballistic weaponry and VS got lasers and hot babes in latex.
Are we doing the circlejerk thing again? If so let me pull out the "Glorious Vanu masterrace" card
I'm gonna be a maverick and say I like NS the best. :v:
None of the other factions have twin-barreled tanks TR: 2 - VS: 1 - NC: 1
None of the other factions have twin-barreled tanks TR: 2 - VS: 1 - NC: 1
Soon we'll have four barrels, brother!
Goddamn, I picked up the TMG-50 earlier it's 2stronk Has some nasty-ass recoil though, I hope the compensator and foregrip can tame it, even with high velocity ammo on it

So the valkyrie is very much a cert pinata at the moment. It's only saving grace is the possibilities of the people in the rumble seats, but as it turns out they die pretty quickly to the explosions of flak. Oh also it's cheap on the nanites.

Anyone know if Cert gain got buffed in the August update? I've gotten a week's worth of certs in an hour or two of playtime in the past few days, and I'm pretty sure it's not from me pumping a week's worth of hours in considering I used to play all-day every-day the past few months and only came out with 200 certs to show daily.
Feels to me like I'm being drowned in ribbons and medals.
It's because of this, It's just cert inflation from ribbons/medals.

No. Indar is still pretty popular, but the other continents do see fair sized fights. Alerts seem to fill up wherever is up for grabs, and those swap continents routinely. Redeploying is still a pretty big deal for being able to defend an entire front line in seconds.
Or you know what- a simple yes/no question: Is the entire game basically still Indarployfield 2 after these last several months?
Not at all, as you go over 50% pop control on any continent it spawns an alert to capture it, 5k exp if you do, + 30% exp for an hour. Most major outfits shift around when these pop.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DDo2wwnXVoFPKlJZoOWh-Qb5eTRGF4ulWcz8FU9YX4A/edit?usp=sharing Made a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone on FP playing Planetside 2
Added my alts too, hope that's ok.
Yeah apparently these continent locks are timed though, so they just automatically unlock with no need to actually get yourself back on to the continent? Plus the bonuses are just barely visible buffs that don't have any tangible impacts apparently (just like everything else in the game right now)?
Continents will automatically unlock if population counts get too high. When cont locking was first implemented, players were getting stuck in the VR training area with huge queues to go to any continent. Now, if pops approach the point of having several continents full, it'll unlock the oldest locked continent. [editline]31st August 2014[/editline]
So the entire game is still just several large instanced team deathmatches spread across massive maps most people don't even bother to traverse and just constantly redeploy to fights without penalty. If thats what people want then I guess that's fine. Definitely isn't what Planetside was about though so it seems like nothing more than wasted potential.
The thing is though, PS1 was pretty much the same, just much slower. Traverse times were good for the meta but generally awful for fun - if you didn't have a Mossie certification you got stuck slogging to the next base on a Fury or some other death trap, and would inevitably plow into mines at max speed or get gunned down by an airchav in his Reaver while halfway to the next base. Fights in PS1 were endless back-and-forth meatgrinders - probably even moreso than PS2 because of fucking interfarms, which were worse than PS2's biolabs ever were - but fought on the scale of days rather than PS2's hours. Even so, fights in PS2 can go back-and-forth for days and may only end after an alert locks the continent. A week ago the NC held Eisa Tech plant on Esamir for at least 3 days - they'd lose it overnight but retake it in the morning and hold it all day - giving them total tank dominance on the continent. Destroying enemy logistics in PS1 were basically about just being an asshole and blowing up a tech plant's generator four lattice links down from the front lines and camping the doorway with a dozen Lashers/Jackhammers/MCGs/Thumpers until the defenders gave up trying to breach the room. You can do the same in PS2, though it's less viable for small groups. A few days ago I got the TR to zerg along towards the NC's only lattice link to their front lines at Quartz Ridge, in order to cut off their access to Vanguards, because fuck the NC. We held the line for about 30 minutes before Reaver spam from their warpgate (200m away) overran our positions.
Disappointing, yet another alert where Glorious TR Masterrace goes from Warpgate-to-Winner during an alert results in a continent reset once again. [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Really, IMO, if the server population is really that high enough to the point that locking a continent would kick people from the game, perhaps the second best solution should be used and instead shove the losing factions back to their warpgates instead of rotating and resetting?
So uh, how do i know i got the Analyst? Just log in to Planetside 2? [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Or is it on the PS2 site as a reedemable item?

I use the same name as here I play TR and I am on Miller.
For the first time since i started playing, i've decided to drop some money on cosmetics. I think it turned out quite well.

I've been trying to get into this game after having only tried it shortly some time ago, and I'm having real difficulty accepting the mechanics. I've been playing heavy and light assault. When I trade 1v1 with an enemy, I will lose probably around 90% of the time. I can see my iron sights over them for the duration of me firing, and when I die and I see their hp, all I have done is taken off 70% of their shield. I mean, I've been getting a KDR of ~1 which isn't terrible, but I just feel like something isn't right. Is it because they have some kind of supreme guns? Is it lag? (I get massive input lag despite 50+ fps but that's beside the point) I will usually get a KDR of somewhere between 2 and 3 in most FPS games (cs, quake, ut, tf2) so I'm pretty sure I'm not just bad at games, and this isn't about tactics - this is about when the enemy and I are fighting head to head, they more often than not seem to get away almost unscathed while I die. It just doesn't feel right?
If your input lag is noticable, you should probably work on fixing that. But in Planetside 2 it takes a while to get used to the combat (at least for me it did). I personally get most of my kills when I catch people by surprise.
