Seems like the Harasser does literally everything better than the Flash. It's faster, more maneuverable, has nearly as much armor as a Lightning, you can't be shot off it, and the turret moves independently of the vehicle, making it easy for your passenger to aim.

Just hit them in the side with a magboost and they flip over every time.
I'm not planning to cert into the harasser, given that I play this game solo, but I've got to say I'm a bit bummed out that I spent thousands of certs and Station Cash transforming my little Flash into the perfect skirmishing vehicle, which is now outclassed in every regard by something else. The only thing the Flash has on the Harasser is the cloak. Granted, the cloak kicks some serious butt, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for more driver protection and improved handling. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline] Buyer's remorse, is all!
the thing that really irks me about the harasser compared to the flash is that it is so much faster than the flash. also, fire whoever did the suspension on the flash and give it the harassers suspension.
Soooooo. Which Harasser gun do you guys recommend? I've got max Composite and Racer frame if it helps the choice.

I saw a Harasser with no gunner, and thought "easy kill!" It surprised the hell out of me for how much faster it was than the ATV. The ATV should be the hands-down fastest and most maneuverable land vehicle in the game. It's the trade-off for having almost no protection while driving it.

I frequently don't even bother to waste shells on flashes, I just run them over. The flash is for rapid transport, not combat. The solo ground combat vehicle is the lightning. Fast, armored, and well armed.

So vortex was buffed. Is it worth it now? Most significant change seems to be they made it so a full charge does 490 damage instead of 415 (comets to 475, so now a single charge will do more damage than comets), and they made it so damage degradation happens at around 300-400m instead of 200-300 Uncharged shots to 105 damage now (versus 85), so you can technically still do more DPS by just spaming those instead of charging but you'll burn through more ammo. Comets are still going to be better under 100m (where they can always reliably hit), because you can shoot out more 475 damage comets in the amount of time it takes to deal a single 490 damage vortex charge, but we'll see if the fact that the range is boosted and its basically hitscan makes up for it.
The flash is for rapid transport, not combat. The solo ground combat vehicle is the lightning. Fast, armored, and well armed.
It also only costs 23 resources. I'd rather pay that little for a quick vehicle that I can operate without having to depend on a gunner to kill stuff, especially when I have a fury and wraith cloak.
The comets were always supposed to be the superior AV choice for for close/medium.
The problem is the fact that the comets already travel at a fast speed and have no damage degredation at range or any "bullet drop" make them pretty effective at almost all the ranges that the vortex would be effective at, ESPECIALLY since you can't zoom with vortex. If the target is stationary (sundy bus, deployed prowler, landed gal/ESF, etc) you can hit anything with comets at any range. On top of that the comet's DPS is still signifigantly higher than a vortex, versus just being "better". For all intents and purposes, a single vortex shot fully charged is pretty much equal to a single comet shot. You can shoot about 2.5 comets in the same amount of time you can shoot a single charged vortex shot, making a comet's DPS much MUCH higher than a vortex. AKA damage output for comets are very very high compaired to vortex's damage output, for a gun that is easier to use (no charge) and works almost just as good (easy to hit most targets that the vortex can easily hit too).

I like playing outside the roles most people choose. It's more fresh that way.
PTS now has a tutorial if you use the help menu, not completed, no spawn points so don't die in it.
Ye, but I didn't want to be a part of the tank zerg. I like playing outside the roles most people choose. these hats just keep getting sillier and sillier why can't I put it on my MAX armor
My NC alt got 10K as well. Sweet! Already bought all the things I wanted, now to save the rest for future content.
Okay seriously what the hell did you do to get that kind of certs. Bought anything with SC? [sp]Did you suck Smedley's dick?[/sp]
I'm calling it now, NCs equivalent of Armistice Day will be the 4th of July.
Jesus the encoding, an 1 minute long video clip recorded with Dxtory takes up 10gb of space. Anyways it seems as if in the last patch they made it easier for mosquitos to make the reverse maneuver, I can now push my thrusters into their vertical position a lot faster than I could yesterday, I'm doing the exact same thing as always. Interesting. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline] So anyone figured out yet where those heaps of certs came from that some people got?
these hats just keep getting sillier and sillier why can't I put it on my MAX armor
Oh my god. Seriously, oh my god. Only SOE could take a nice concept and turn it into something rediculous: MCG, Striker, stormtrooper helmet (which is decent, I even bought it with composite armor, but it's so very-very unimaginative), now this.
I actually like it *shrug* Would look better if that armor was alpha squad/loyalty.
now this.
To be honest, this was something people were asking for for a very, very long time.
Please take note that the screen shot is of it on the worst possible choice to put the hat on. I plan on my engineer wearing the hat.
Can we just agree that anything that isn't a skintight cap is going to look dumb on infiltrators, regardless?
Higby tweeted this picture encase you have not seen it.
That sure looks interesting, but I wonder how much it'll improve gameplay. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline] I guess battles will be much more decisive as you can't just go around some facility. You'll HAVE to capture it to continue progressing over the continent.
interface looks a bit confusing to me, I think if the lines followed roads it would be a lot better
so its pretty much the PS1 lattice system now? [editline]10th May 2013[/editline] goodbye hexes
Higby tweeted this picture encase you have not seen it.
As much as I like the idea of "hex's" I guess it is kind of a board game trope while something like the above is more realistic. And pretty. It also doesn't artifically decide where territory begins or ends reguardless of terrain, which I like (i.e. the whole terrain of the map feels like it could be where a battle happens, instead of ONLY where the bases are). [editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
interface looks a bit confusing to me, I think if the lines followed roads it would be a lot better
Nah, then it makes it "look" like the fight can only happen on the roads. If they just made it so the roads were "highlighted" as well but not via the lattice (i.e. just high contrast compaired to the terrain map) it would work and look better. Especially for Amerish.
