Was going around Esamir earlier repairing generators to get my daily ribbon bonuses, and while I was repairing at Nott, I ran into a TR infil trying to farm the gens. I managed to get 10 kills on the guy simply by putting a bouncing betty on each of the shield generators. But every time it was the same generator. 10 times. 10 fucking times this guy charged straight into the same hut, through the same door without any caution whatsoever, died to a mine placed in the same spot, then came back expecting a different result. Eventually there were no enemies detected, so I moved on to Mani. 5 minutes later, another kill on the same guy. Share your stories about encounters with stupid enemies.
Haha, awesome story, i don't think he learned his lesson though. Yesterday i went all commando as a NC infiltrator. I was at the north-western Tawrich outpost and decided that i should hack the turrets and the gate shield. 10 minutes after i entered the outpost i died, having racked up about 17 kills after killing some VS stragglers covering the assault force attacking Tawrich. One guy kept running to the same turret so i just hacked it and killed him before he could react. It's a shame i didn't manage to record it...

I'm approaching 1000 certs and my favoured class is the Infiltrator on TR, should I get an SMG for CQB or get the Commissioner so I can be semi-effective at most ranges?
SMG foshure.
I'm approaching 1000 certs and my favoured class is the Infiltrator on TR, should I get an SMG for CQB or get the Commissioner so I can be semi-effective at most ranges?
Personally I wouldnt use a 1000 certs to buy weapons. You can get alot of upgrades for 1000 certs, and takes a bloody long time to get that much in the first place. For me time is money, so whenever I want a new spiffy gun, I drop a bit of Station Cash and save the 3 days of cert farming and put the Certs into upgrades.
I haven't spent a cent on PS2, so far the only 1000 cert weapon I've ever unlocked was rocket pods. Great investment.

I have finally made an application for my real organized outfit. Is the game really that completly different when playing with mates in an organized event, and not part of the common pool zerg anymore?
Slug ammunition is terrible - a mere 100 cert investment to make your gun useless. Don't bother with it. The slugs will fly anywhere in the huge radial crosshair when hip firing (and AFAIK will do the same even when using the sights), and the projectile speed is hilariously slow. Use the T5 AMC. It's probably the best medium/long range carbine in the game - I haven't touched my TRAC since I picked up the AMC a few months ago.
Once upon a time slug ammo was actually mildly useful for classes like the LA. It still suffered from TREMENDOUS DROP and as Saber said, ludicrously slow projectile speed. I think two hotfixes ago they made it even worse, decreased the max damage range and made it slightly slower. I have like 150 hours with the Barrage + Ext Mag + 4x + Slug Ammo combo back when I was putting together a google doc suggesting some changes to it, and shotgun spread in general. However, I underestimated the official PS2 forum's retardation and they are still swept up in SOE's terrible shotgun balancing fiasco to take any sort of well thought out, reasonable suggestions. Slugs do not 'fly everywhere' when using an optic though, there is no horizontal spread and the only limiting factor is the fact that its a fucking pain in the ass to get the slug trajectory right. So the long and short of it is that yes; unless you're playing a VS character, shotgun slugs are a complete and utter waste of time. Also I can attest that the Trac-5 AMC is a good mid range option with all those attachments. Keep in mind though that even with all that shit on it, it still has considerable horizontal spread so be prepared for it to act silly-stupid from time to time as your shots somehow manage to fly anywhere but at your target. Cert weapon purchases are only for that character.

They also did say long ago that they want to give complete account-wide SC purchases, meaning you get the faction equivalent too, however that was a long time ago and we haven't heard anything since. [sp]I want to believe[/sp]
ugh This isn't even remotely fun to play against.
Same shit on Ceres for every alert so no big deal here you're not alone
Same shit on Ceres for every alert so no big deal here you're not alone
my brain just got stretched in between this thread and the Warframe one
This game makes for a pretty slideshow, sometimes.
Ok so the funniest thing ever just happened. I bought the new hat and I think it looks good enough on my Engineer and naturally when everybody is wearing helmets you kind of stand out. So when I equipped the hat in the warp gate (the warp gate was packed it was nearing the end of an alert) just about everybody flocked over to take a look. Just people everywhere circling like flies to a corps wanting to see it. Here is a pic of what it looks like (as normal click picture to enlarge) [t]http://i39.tinypic.com/2c0fip.png[/t] Never had so much attention before :v:
That's when you should've told them that you're the new general in charge of the entire faction. :v:

So the commissar hat does not use the camo's color? that sucks
So the commissar hat does not use the camo's color? that sucks
But it would look retarded in camo.
That hat looks like the same one Bison from Street Fighter has.
I am thinking of getting composite armour for my engineer. Is it actually that noticeable. I figured if I am going to buy a new hat I might as well buy the armour as well.
It's noticable, but not huge.
That hat looks like the same one Bison from Street Fighter has.
Or 40K's Comissars, there's jsut something about that type of high brimmed hat that screams "Some people mean business, this guy is the CEO! Fuck with him not!"
Oh god, i just got 10 kills while hiding under my sunderer with my Claw, apparently TR are deaf or something. :v:

So i went on a adventure today. I decided that i wanted to test TR's warpgate security, so i Went all the way to their warpgate. On the way i spotted about 3-4 vehicle columns as well as dozens air-convoys.
