every scrub just wants to RUSH LAAAANE [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] My dedicated gunner hasn't got the patch yet ;_; So I've been playing on my TR dual Fracture lockdown max. Similar effect :v:
Wish i had a friend to pilot me around so i could shoot shit. :v:
he's not happy about the Saron changes though.
Holy shit awesome change I just found that seemed undocumented EMP grenades now give assist bonus if someone gets killed that is effected, before you didn't get jack shit for using EMP's This is pretty awesome because throwing an EMP into a packed room means everyone in the room is hit by it, and everyone in there that dies during the effect gets you the assist points [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] Biolab's health regen effect seems instant now too (I get slow health regen right after taking damage)
I wonder what the rush lanes for Esamir and Amerish will be like.
The new system on Indar does feel like it helps focus the battles a lot more.
Half of Mattherson right now is VS using ZOE. And I'm not kidding about the "Half of Mattherson right now is VS" part. Not sure if ZOE is so hilariously overpowered everybody is trying it or just usual post-alert fourth faction.
Jesus, don't go to r/planetside. It's just endless crying and whining about the lattice system and how it ruined their precious "tactics(ghost capping)", "strategy(ghost capping)", and "small battles(ghost capping)".

Honestly the second the hotfix in the warpgate rotation the pop will swing right back as soon as [TE] decides to place 1000 bursters anchored atop of the cliff outside our warpgate.
I'm really happy with the lattice system. It makes sure there are decently-sized battles going on at any time of the day. I logged on just an hour ago and I actually found a good battle instead of just ghostcappers everywhere.
Well, I gotta agree on the how blatantly OP the Enforcer is and how ridiculously bad the Saron HRB is now.
Well, I gotta agree on the how blatantly OP the Enforcer is and how ridiculously bad the Saron HRB is now.
They even raised the price on the halberd so all of the VS looking for a new gunner option are going to have to dish out even more dosh, now that's a ripoff. Oh, and they have to "wait a while for the balance to settle" before they look at it again, pfahahaha soe are you serious/
Holy fuck, I just tried the game with the new patch and decided to go full-on ultra settings for laughs. It somehow runs just as well as it did on medium but it looks so fucking pretty now. I am a very happy man. :v:

[sp]Seriously though, I unloaded my minigun into a zoe max with full health and won, we were both very confused how I won since he was AI and I wasn't in his deadzone[/sp] [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline]
Half of Mattherson right now is VS using ZOE. Minimap icons are so small now, I had to turn down my resolution in order to tell the difference between anything.

Due to some unexplainable decision SOE made, the game uses Ultra's high-res textures by default, it downscales everything on the fly draining CPU power capacity. It's only logical it will run better on most setups when you set textures on Ultra.
EMP grenades now give assist bonus if someone gets killed that is effected, before you didn't get jack shit for using EMP's
Interesting, I wonder if the same applies for flashbangs

It's laughable. "Small outfits are obsolete! You can't flank anyone now! It was so helpful and useful and shit when you could send your squad to cap around the facility!". Which is totally not Ghost capping. "You can no longer recap the place when zerg moved on!" Which is totally not Ghost capping. The most fun fact about it is that the ghost capping didn't go anywhere. It's still possible. Just those territories will not give you resources and behave like "cut off". Which is very logical IMO, as these "hexes" won't give resources to your enemies as well. It's as close to resource denial tactic as it can get in PS2 currently.
Anyone recommend good TR/NC outfits for PS1? Since it's f2p I'll be mainly playing it instead and I want to get into the organized business.
Ok I take back anything I said about the fractures, they are one sexy beast. They're simply perfect with lockdown for some long range AV harrassing I'd say they outclass the other AI guns but given the TR max that's not saying much
Awww yiss right mercy/blueshift/mattock(?) on members sale for 350 SC, I have 357. Also anyone have an idea of when the next tripple/double SC is?

Our tactical strategy of avoiding fights we might lose is ruined! Having said that, it would be nice if they introduced NTUs to bases to give small outfits a way to impact the fight. But still, playing today was the most fun I've had in the game since beta when everything was new. Spawned into Rashnu which was about 60% capped, we managed a huge push out of the spawn and resecured, then pushed all the way north to Camp Waterson. All on foot, it was constant fighting all the way. So much fun, even when TR got their shit together at Waterson and pushed back.

I would take predictability for better fights.

And there is some merit to smaller outfits being made more irrelevant with this patch. The problem with small outfits in zerg battles is that they don't have any real role, as the zerg takes care of everything for you. That said with lattice though, zergs no longer just follow the path of least resistence - they now pretty much are garunteed to meet an enemy zerg on the otherside. But it's still the fact that individuals and smaller groups now have little effect on the overall flow of the battle now, when before they could still do stuff that didn't relate to the main force. Now the only option is to roll with the main force, and that kind of sucks. If they gave more options within the lattice to let smaller outfits do stuff without having to roll down the canyon road along with everyone else that would be great. Or maybe more avenues for attack and more optional objectives to tackle that wouldn't be apropreate for a zerg at large. Imagine if a base had some kind of auto defense array that needed shut down but wasn't connected to the main base your faction is trying to take at all, just belonging to the territory. Your main force is at the enemy gates but through sheer attrition it's hard to in and take the stronghold. Meanwhile your small outfit can focus on getting control of that defense array or some other secondaries that give your faction the edge it needs to take the stronghold and the territory as a whole. That stuff would be perfect but right now there's nothing to do as a smaller outfit except "follow the zerg" and run into the meatgrinder with them. [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] The thing is, ghost capping was boring and dumb but it was the only way to give smaller groups who didn't want to just "roll with the zerg" something to do. It was covert ops of a sort, where you go against smaller groups of other "covert-ops" folks and try to beat the odds. Now there's nothing to do but roll with the zerg, and that kind of sucks if you are an organized small outfit because there is zero way to actually influence the fight except add to the stalemate bodycount
I guess it wouldn't have caused such uproar if the other 2 continents were still being populated decently. The alerts help with that but Esamir and Amerish usually are quite empty.
wot's ghost capping
wot's ghost capping
Going deep behind enemy lines and capturing a base FAR away from the fighting to Farm Certs
It's probably the most boring part of the game.
Going deep behind enemy lines and capturing a base FAR away from the fighting to Farm Certs
I tried doing that during an alert, but couldn't solo cap. Do you need a certain number of people to cap a point? I could also use some recommendations for a new primary for engineer and heavy assault. I enjoy shooting people at moderate distance without letting go of the trigger. Final question. Did they nerf the Python heat a while ago? It feels much weaker now.
What's the deal with god-rays? I just noticed that I never get them in game even though I've got all settings on high. Is there something I'm missing?
I haven't played this game in a long time but isn't ghost capping a very slow method of getting certs? I seem to get 100's of certs quickly from the big battles
