Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

The MCG needs to have its rounds per minute increased to like at least 2000 and have ammo/damage balanced around that, I mean, the fucking MG-3 lmg that the danish army uses fires 1200 rounds per minute, it makes no sense that a fucking minigun has less than that.
That and no TR lib pilots to balance the anti TR circlejerk :v:
Funny story about that, one of the VS pilots got invited by some [TE] guy to play on his TR alt with the TR airzerg, pulls a liberator which promptly gets destroyed by some random [TE] guy who's like "WE DON'T USE LIBERATORS IN THE TALON, LOLPODS MORE EFFECTIVE." No fucking shit there aren't going to be any goddamn TR lib pilots, they get blasted out of the damn sky by friendlies.

Well first, don't fucking invite TE to something you want to be successful, especially the talon company. Try G3rt of BWC or something.
Thanks for insulting the entire TR by comparing them to buzzcut's psychos.

This is how the amerish warpgate around the continent consoles looked when we broke VS indar cont lock on mattherson.
Nothing makes me harder in this game than when someone complains about the NC Max
so satisfying to scattercannon bitches in the face

I still want to see somebody pull off the dual C4 stuck on a shield, it'd be perfect to do it on an amp stations SCU room, you could place it inside the tunnels, then have the scatmax pop up, detonate the C4 to kill the campers, and wreck the people destabilizing the SCU.

It was the airzerg that invited them, not the other way round. But the second point is completely valid and i'm all for hating TE so you've got that.

the shield is currently the most badass thing the NC have
I've been part of phalanxes of MAXs that have moved forward covering people behind them, freaking awesome

I'm pretty sure shooting at a shield prepped with C4 would hit the C4 and thus they'd explode before you got up close to them.
Just broke my record for longest time playing without a crash, currently at ~50 minutes.
Just broke my record for longest time playing without a crash, currently at ~50 minutes.
I play all the time and I only crashed about twice and that was during early beta. How do you even pull off how much you crash?
It's... debatable, I guess, guys in platoon I was in tonight couldn't stop arguing about the thing. One of the soldiers said it's just "zerg VS zerg" now, and there're some merit to these words. When bases are as defencible as they are now, you can't win against overwhelming force, so who has the largest zerg, wins in any given direction.
At the same time, it adds much needed predictability, that's what our Platoon lead was saying. It allows to say exactly where enemy forces on any given direction are going to move and how far can they go. Were're the forks, were we can intercept the zerg, how we can cut it off. There're always more than one lane that allows the enemy to go deep into your territory, so leads have to split their forces wisely.
I am personally on the fence about this one. I wanted to see lattice, but PTS being ghost town most of the time haven't really let me experience it. Now, I'm inclined to say that I welcome this addition, but wish they worked a bit more on the implementation.
Two things are certain, it provides what this game was advertised as - large battles on epic scale; and it makes good commanders, who can effectively predict enemy movements, more valuable.
Zergs were boring before because they garunteed victory wherever they went and they just followed a path of least resistence outward at the cost of everything else
However when zergs are forced to fight each other in the lattice, it's much more engaging, because a zerg WILL evenetually have to run into the enemy zerg, causing a massive battle. This is why the zerg vs zerg fighting isn't actually that bad, because it makes some pretty fucking huge battles that are awesome to play in.
The biggest issue with lattice is that if you are a small outfit there isn't much you can do anymore beyond supporting that zerg. The game desperately needs more objectives, secondary stuff to cap towers/bases/outposts that isn't just "shield gens" and isn't completely nessicary for victory (like maybe blowing open a door to get to an alternate back entrance?), and stuff like Towers from PS1, which weren't connected to lattice and could be captured at any time by any faction. Any outfit or squad focus on covert ops or that (for a change) don't want to just be constantly following the main force around has no choice but to follow the main force around because the game doesn't give them too much else to do.
In other words, small-scale strategic impact and subterfuge has been completely removed.
So I'm on my TR and all three factions are clashing, a NC sunderer drives up and nobody else seems to notice so I run towards it with my trusty C4, on my way there a vanu scum comes running in front of me and also tries to C4 it, I quickly dispatch him screaming "Mine, bitch!" then I C4 and blow up the sunderer, faction rivalry at its best.
Holy crap the TAR is great, I just held an entire corner by myself against tons of NC. They would constantly try to run around the corner to shoot our tanks with rockets and I would constantly run around the same corner and spray their faces with bullets, I racked up 26 kills in five minutes just holding that one corner while spamming taunt, new favourite weapon ahoy.
The new Esamir bases look fucking incredible.
-All outposts are walled in
-All bases have dome shields over "Infantry Only" areas
-Shields block all projectiles (bullets, rockets, flak etc.), but players and air vehicles can still pass through
-The area between the spawn room and main building at the tech plant is now almost completely walled off and shielded, no more parking 50 tanks between the spawn and the control point to guarantee victory
-Lots of infantry cover added to Amp Station courtyards
-Plenty of cover added between buildings at outposts as well, lots of chokepoints
-Sunderers cannot park right next to the control point
-Walls around spawn buildings add even more protection
-Once Amerish is done, another pass will be made to Indar with these new changes

Starts around 1:20:00.

Are these shields permanent or can they be brought down? Also, are they a thing every base has or are they going to be something that only a selection of them have? Because to me they sound like they'll make vehicles largely obsolete and nearly useless. That's not much better than vehicles camping the spawn room.

At the moment the shields will be permanently on, but they said they may consider giving them generators. Also just because a vehicle cannot interfere directly in base battles doesn't make them worthless. There are plenty of battles in open fields between bases now with the lattice, and that is where vehicles should dominate. However I think this would mean MBTs and Air would probably need a buff again so that they can dominate open ground.
One thing I would like to see are barricades/trenches along the outside of the walls, where infantry can try to hold vehicles back before they get pinned inside the base. I thought about catwalks along the tops of the walls but that would make it a little too easy for defenders to break a siege, as they would be able to just jump the wall and break out.
How much C4 does it take to kill a sunderer and an MBT? It only took me one but I think someone else had planted C4 before I did, I'm unsure if I should buy another stick of C4 or spend it on my ress grenade.

2 blocks of C4 will bring a Sundy down to critical health, and will destroy an MBT if placed on the rear.
Is it just me or do rocket launchers do barely any damage to vehicles?
I unloaded like, 4 rockets from the TRs default rocket launcher onto the roof of a magrider and I only took off like a quarter of his health, a third at most.

This game has some really nice looking particles

PhysX makes this game look REALLY fukken nice.
But i have to turn it off during alerts, especially on indar.
Oh man I went to the bank today.
Maxed lockdown + Fractures + Crown + NC convoy + Double XP = loads of certs.

Still better than what I see every night at TR WG on Woodman. "208th" outfit starts their "operation" by standing in line while it's officer talks about some stuff. For 20 minutes. I swear only two or three times total I saw them in a fight.

I personally got to see the glory of 100 aegis shields charging at me, I got a bit to close to the shotguns though.

I can confirm this, last night on Miller Esamir there was some serious spartan shit going on. Shields in front, vanguard behind, archers in the back. They formed a perfect line and marched slowly forward while the medics would resurrect the fallen and the mobile lock-on and snipers would pick anything off that tried to charge the formation.
It was like looking into death itself when I saw that row of shields coming up :v:

I don't really get what people like so much about the TAR? What does it do better then the Cycler TRV in those scenarios? The TRV has a much higher RoF if I recall too...
I play this game like once or twice every week. It seems as if every other time I start the launcher there's another 2 gig patch to wait for.
I've never really taken advantage of a double XP weekend as much as I've been doing with this one. I'm not a great player so being able to rack up 300+ certs a day is awesome, regardless of how much more other people get.
The problem is there isn't 2gigs worth of new content, the game has to replace existing files that have been slightly modified, that's why the download is so high.
lI've been using the chain gun on my Heavy Assault, and I love it. But it needs some serious reworking.
I'd prefer them to remove ironight mode and replace it with the abilty to spin your barrel and keep you moving slow. I get fucked too often when i have to wait for my chain gun to spit bulllets. Or I have to open fire before I enter a room of enemies.
And increase the rate of fire, too slow to be an effective chain gun.
The chaingun isn't worth it at all. You're really better off with a high capacity machine gun than the chaingun if you want to fire nonstop dakka.
It just doesn't serve a role.
