Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

Man, how comes more people don't use the automatic scout rifles? I'm tearing shit up with my NC one.
I just witnessed the most noob filled battle I have ever encountered. It wasn't the infuriating sort of noob fight either. It was sort of endearing, actually.
It was TR (which I was on) attacking an NC held outpost. The NC noobs would react sluggishly and in bewilderment whenever I killed one of them, and hide in the strangest places. Also, there were one or two HA troopers that would just crouch walk everywhere.
There was a single TR sunderer in a terrible, but accessible location and there used to just be medics, engineers and HAs pouring out of it. Once I taught them how to fly and demonstrated the success to be had with the LAs more of them started picking LA.
It was really funny to take part in though. For some unknown reason the NC troopers there DID NOT PULL A SINGLE VEHICLE. All TR had vehicle wise, was a single prowler, a single sunderer, a liberator and MAYBE 1 or 2 Mosquitos.
And these weren't small numbers either. Like a full platoon on each side was there.
Oh and the average BR I found there was like 25.
Jesus Christ its like LC let out its newb academy early their EVERYWHERE on Esamir Waterson. I flashbanged a room and run in, and take cover near a box near the doorway. I look across the door and see two NC newbs huddled together, an engineer and a HA, the HA already had his over-shield up in anticipation. I even had to pause to shoot them because the oblivious TR newbs kept bursting through the doorway to run past them.

They were made redundant with SMG's, and the semi-autos are technically better

Warning for you, do not get the silencer, it becomes fucking impossible to hit moving targets with the reduced projectile velocity, so you get a gimped SMG.
The chaingun isn't worth it at all. You're really better off with a high capacity machine gun than the chaingun if you want to fire nonstop dakka.
It just doesn't serve a role.
I don't know, 200 shots and a rather fast reload has helped a lot. And I got quite used to taking out ranged targets.
I'd love it more if it could be held spinning like in TF2. And a higher RoF would easily improve my kill count. I use my HA's more for support than assualts. I've held down rooms by simply firing at the door.
If they did add the spin barrel thing, my life would be so much easier.
They were made redundant with SMG's, and the semi-autos are technically better
That was pre-buff. I like it 1000 times better than either SMG now.

Thanks for the heads up. I was actually considering getting one. Now I wont.

I personally preach the same for the SMG. how anyone can put a silencer on it and hit anything is beyond me.

How can you not kill a target with 30+ bullets though? If you catch them on surprise, it's easy to kill them unless it's a HA with a good reaction time. Bullet velocity is almost irrelevant in close quarters.

No, dont get me wrong if you're getting behind stationary targets it's fine, but the silencer (for me) on the NC's blitz is killer for anything more than shotgun range, it becomes so weird to lead with it and you lose all element of surprise unless you know exactly where to aim. without the silencer its much more subtle in the amount you need to lead a target
I don't really get what people like so much about the TAR? What does it do better then the Cycler TRV in those scenarios? The TRV has a much higher RoF if I recall too...
That's the other 250 cert assault rifle, right? The TRV has higher RPM and worse hip accuracy, both resulting in a lot less accuracy together. The TAR shoots slower and has better accuracy and therefor it's a lot easier to mow down people at midrange, in extreme CQC I suppose the TRV would win but I just perform a lot better with slower-shooting rifles, they're easier to handle so they're easier to headshot with and headshots wins all standoffs. It's so odd really, as a heavy I usually get a K/D ratio of 1.6-2.0, with light assaults and medics I get K/D of 2.0-3.0.
I think it is because I love flanking and attacking from odd paths and that racks up a lot of kills, this is piss easy to do as light assault and as a medic if you win the fight you can just heal back up and get back into action. I also find the heavy assault shield to take very little punishment and it takes such a long time to recharge that it only really helps in one standoff, so when I have a ton of them in a row I die immediately after the first. Whereas I can just continue healing myself. I also suppose I'm better at handling assault rifles than LMGs.
according to this thread they nerfed TRV to death

It's supposed to continue firing to be worth it but the accuracy bloom is so horrible it won't hit anything after firing thus it defeats its on purpose.
Because they found they wanted to "innovate".
That's why the cash shop was one of the first innovations, and everything else was a step back from ps1 :v:

I still don't get how it had better performance in the beta, even on a heavily populated continent, It was all so smooth, and when they released it, it was nearly unplayable for half the playerbase.
This new patch again, reduced my FPS and now I have to go fucking around with useroptions.
My performance was great in Beta, but it stuttered a LOT. They fixed the stuttering, but now my framerate hits the teens in large enough battles, and no matter what graphics settings I choose, Lowest and 1440x900, or maxed the fuck out at 1920x1080, the framerate NEVER budges. Having Alt+F up, the CPU is always the bottleneck
I have no issues pulling 80 frames per second in this game, even in a populated Warpgate, but during a battle? Can't do shit, and for a Quad Core 3.2ghz, that shouldn't be the case
Also, last night, there was an NC Max platoon locking down bases faster than you could fucking believe. They'd cap, force everyone into the spawn room and wait out the cap, and you know what these bastards were doing? Lining up outside the room, using their little power shields with all their support medics and engineers behind them safely. Out of all of us stuck in the spawn room, I was the only one lobbing grenades behind them taking people out.
I called it the Maxipad tactic
The way I see it, the TRV was good.
Then they nerfed the TRV conveniently right before the TAR gets released.

But without the silencer you have to deal with every other enemy paying attention in a 50 meter radius, which always ends up with you being either dead or having to run to a friendly group while cloaked.
Haven't seen a TR MAX not using the fractures recently
those things absolutely shred infantry at enormous range
I made 800 certs.
Today was a good day.

The TR MAX AV weapons are completely imba at the moment. Fractures are good against everything and Pounders suck terribly.
who needs maxes when you can just drive around with an m40 fury
Is the HEAT cannon worth it for the lightning?
I want a quick hit and run AT vehicle so it feels appealing.
Starting out on PS2, having played no other MMOs at all before, is super confusing. I don't even know what I should be doing half the time.
PhysX makes this game look REALLY fukken nice.
But i have to turn it off during alerts, especially on indar.
Yea it does, but the 10-20 fps it consumes is not worth it for me.
Started off today having an all out infantry pushes, going against NC tanks and what not, then we would pull tanks and air and this went on for a good 2 and a half hours. Lattice adds a nice direction for the map, but the way the new Sub-stations/Satellites work is a little silly. Should be connected to the actual bases. Can't lock them to a main spawn room any more.
Then later we went around stopping Vanu ghost capping Esimir. I managed to play as All the classes. Managed to get 2 mercy ribbons in one life.

Anyone here concerned with friendly fire?
Like, at all?
Because I don't get it how every few hours, every day, official "forums" spawn another thread on why there should not be FF or how it should be mirrored damage (you try to TK - you get damage and die). WHY? Why am I not encountering any issues? Is there something I don't see? I mean, always diffirent people suggest something to do with FF, there must be something if there're so many people concerned?
official "forums"
There's the problem right there, not friendly fire.
There's the problem right there, not friendly fire.
I realise that, but the whining is so persistent.
There's persistent whining about just about everything on the official forums. There is no problem with friendly fire. You're not missing anything, it's just whining idiots who got TK'd either by accident or by running directly into the firing line of an ally, and would rather make the devs change the game to suit their stupidity than try to learn from their mistakes.
FF does need some tweaks, but nothing serious. Basically I want two additions:
If I accidentally kill a friendly, give me one of those y/n prompts to apologize. If you say yes it would send an apology message, and perhaps prompt you again if you would like to send a tell to the player, just to make life easy so you can apologize and/or explain or whatever you want.
If I am accidentally killed by a friendly, then give me a y/n prompt to forgive. If forgiven, the game then ignores the friendly fire damage as contributing towards a weapons lock. It also sends the killer a message stating they are forgiven, of course.

That could be abused with the y/n.
Especially in the midst of battles where a player gets TKed, even by accident, could get pissed and auto hit N.
Is FF damage equal damage done to enemies? If it is, maybe FF damage should be less, 75%?
Either way, it's fucking annoying when people run in front of me when I lay down fire at a door with my 200 rounds machine gun.

If they get pissed and hit no, then whatever. The only thing that has happened is that you are in exactly the same situation as you are right now if you kill someone accidentally. It counts towards weapons lock.
I've never successfully hit weapons lock, but sometimes I do dumb shit and wish I could forgive people so it doesn't count to theirs.
I TK people who are shooting the terminals. This means, I do it A LOT. And I'd like to continue this exciting activity.
Imagine PS2 where damage done to teammates mirrors. Oh the horror. Cloaked Infiltrator ran infront of your tank? You fall out of your tank, dead. Thrown a grenade and someone ran into it? You die. Idiots bunched up on that generator you armed 30 seconds ago? You die.
I've got instantly weapon locked once, when 10 people died by generator going off.
